Clarinet player here. There’s so many sounds I’ve gotten out of my instrument. For example, if you take the bell and hit the larger end flat on your palm, it makes almost a water drop noise. You can also play with just the reed, mouthpiece, and barrel and place your hand on the open bottom of the barrel and move it back and forth to get a weird screeching sorta sound( if that makes sense). You could also just take the reed, mouthpiece, and barrel and play it by sticking your finger through the bottom. The higher or lower your finger is the different notes it makes. Wiggling said finger makes a fun sound with quick alternating notes, kinda like a extremely high pitch, out of tune trill. If anyone wants to try these go for it. Hope this made sense.

In one of my bands we had a section in a piece of music that on the clarinet part was labeled "babies". We were instructed to play on just the mouthpiece and barrel but ALSO were given specific notes to go between. The day we sight read the piece as an ensemble it caused the entire band to fall apart because no one was expecting it. And yeah, rehearsals for that section were fun 😁
