i tried stand-up. you’re pressed for time and have to crunch material to fit. and doing open-mic is nerve wracking. i leaned into to it too much and stammered and yelled. beer helps. but that’s how you end up in an early grave: depending on short-cuts.

tripple me in reality the Amazons are a myth but was a myth inspired by female warriors seen in other cultures; Scythian women particularly since they were proven to be part of the mounted militia and couldn’t marry until the have killed a man in combat. They were mostly Eurasian but they spoke a branch of Eastern Iranian language which proves once again they were true nomads. The Greek believed these were the true Amazons and not exactly the ones Homer first introduced to them and later became part of their culture (first a trend and later an essential in Athenian culture). Also, I believe Spartan women could’ve inspired Homer to create his Greek Amazons. But later on (even Greek historians of the time looked for the famous Amazon warriors) came to find out that there were female warriors in Persia (certain regions with a low percentage of population so everyone had to work hunting and protecting the area) and Eurasia (Scythians) with a fluid societal structure.

....just 2 words..... 'Ghostbusters' reboot. Wait, 2 more..... 'The Wiz' (the Wizard of Oz reboot w/ an all black cast) ..... As always, those average thinking 'majority community' members (yes, read white), would freak the frick out at the idea of a Black Woman representing what Wonder Woman represents in larger philosophical conversations of Amazonian beauty, strength, wisdom, etc. ..... Just like the (white) male/ majority population who also freaked out about an all female cast w/ the new Ghostbusters all female cast. ....... By "2" more words, I meant..... 😳 ... eyes wide-open. Lol. I do love the idea though. I do encourage more progressive thinking like yours. I do encourage you to boldly share that beautiful perspective loudly & boldly..... That IS how change happens friend. ✌

As a Nigerian I can backup his story. The President was really sick for a while and people thought he couldn’t survive it but he came back “healthy” and he’s in his 2nd term right now. But American politics is still 200x more entertaining.

In the books, Wonka literally was exploring and colonizing Africa and Oompa Loompas are described and illustrated as "African pygmies ". It's not even undertones. It's cristal clear. The movie was released when the Civil rights movement just started, so they changed then to the famous look. But the colonization undertones are pretty explicit.

@@gyneve they do it with all stand up, the idea is much like the use of a laugh track. also, next time you are in a group of people listening to a story, count how many times you look at fellow audience members' faces. it's a natural human reaction to gauge the mood of your fellows before expressing any kind of emotion reaction. TLDR: confirmation bias, this is done in everything.
