"Soon May the Wellerman Come", also known as "Wellerman" or "The Wellerman", is a sea ballad from New Zealand, claimed to be from c. 1860-1870, though records of it go back only to the 1960s. The song refers to the "wellermen", pointing to supply ships[citation needed] owned by the Weller brothers, who were amongst the earliest European settlers of Otago.
In early 2021, a cover by Scottish singer Nathan Evans became a viral hit on the social media site TikTok, leading to a "social media craze" around sea shanties and maritime songs (Source: Wikipedia)
Played live here by the German Navy Band of Kiel to say goodbye to the sailing training ship "Gorch Fock" for the first training trip under the new commander, Commander Andreas-Peter Graf von Kielmansegg.

Sehr schön, Kptlt. Hilsberg macht ihrem ausgezeichnetem Ruf alle Ehre. Wo sie den Taktstock schwingt ist Qualität in jeder Note. Eine echte Bereicherung für die musischen Kieler Sprotten.🐟😉😊Grüße aus Nordholz gehen raus nach Kiel!

Denen stand noch die Klappe offen vor Verwunderung. Weil dieser Kahn 135 Millionen Euro gekostet hat. Da hätte man in Asien, Afrika oder Amerika sich 10 Schiffe bauen lassen können. Dank noch mal an Frau van der Leyen. Oder sollten man sagen von der Leiden ? Ihr Verantwortungsbereich war das damals. Hunderte Millionen deutsches Steuergeld wurden da verbrannt. Für 1 Schiff wohlgemerkt. Und nicht für den Nachbau der Titanic nur 3 mal größer. Denn da hätte man ja 135 Mio ja einkalkulieren können.
