Goodwin doing my favourite challenge, I do this challenge on FM every year now with Japanese players only in 24. It’s gives you leeway with second nationality, but once they get capped by another nation I usually sell, with the exception of if they came out of the academy, for continental competition squad rules

If you look at the history of Cardiff City FC, they mostly play in the second tier of English football but they have some horrible lows such as relegations to the 4th tier four times (lowest finish: 22nd in the 1995/96 League Division 3, back then it was the 4th tier) and they also had a 51-year absence of top-flight football. Having said that, they also had 8 seasons in a row in the top division from the 1921/22 to the 1928/29 season with their highest finish being 2nd in the 1923/24 League Division One. However, the way they lost out on the title to Huddersfield Town was mental. Back then, if two or more teams were tied on points, goal average (total goals scored divided by total goals conceded) would be the first tiebreaker, Cardiff scored 61 and conceded 34 whilst Huddersfield scored 60 and conceded 33. They missed out by having an inferior goal average of 1.794 compared to Huddersfield's 1.818, if goal difference was the first tiebreaker, both teams would have the same on +27 and Cardiff would have won the league because they had scored more goals. They would have been the first Welsh club to ever win an English top-flight title.

24:37 I don't know what it is with the coding of the simulation system but I feel like teams at the top tend to lose more games than usual and if not, draw more games than usual or it could be both. That points tally compared to the recent 20-team Premier League tables IRL would nowhere near win you a Premier League title. You can call yourself lucky (Man City even finished 5th that season).
