The smile that Josh is trying so hard not to show on his face when Joey says that Donna likes him at 1:00. Bradley Whitford is such a great actor

I find it really funny how every single one of Josh and Donna's respective love interests knew how they felt about each other before either of them knew.

I always thought of Kenny as the professional voice and Joey's voice as the personal voice. It always made the dialogue flow for me.

I'm reasonably certain absolutely everyone in the office knew how Donna felt before Josh did. Further, I'm pretty sure Josh himself knew it, just categorically denied it.

Donna says (in another episode) that Josh feels that he puts a curse on people who he is fond of, which is why he doesn't dare to get close to them. That's why he tries to distance himself from Donna herself.

I love the quote by Mark Twain about statistics. You forget that statistics are limited because it is not viable to ask every single person and get a straight answer. Thus they do lie because they are more of a projection. It can divert people's decisions. Plus I love how these two work together.
@ashirizly
@ashirizly 4 жыл бұрын
statistics aren't lies because you can't sample everyone (ask every person), they're often lies because it's actually pretty hard to do it correctly, and really easy to do it wrong, in a way that biases your results, and it's hard to know from the outside if the statistcs you're shown are reliable.
@BlackDiamond2718

@@ashirizly it is a lie in that it is not the truth. It does not represent everyone, just a few. That and the interpretations of data may possibly be incorrect. That is what i refer to as lying. Other than that, they are still effective sources of data. How we interpret that is another thing entirely.
@scotty6858

The interpreter was an underrated addition. I think there was one point where he said, on behalf of Joey "there goes the cutest ass ever", and Josh wondered aloud about whether he was speaking for Joey, and not himself..*L*

When Josh got shot, I think everyone knew, hence their verr grave demeanor as Toby informed her. Alslo, there was a scene, don’t know when in the timeline, where, (in criticism of her current boyfriend?) Josh tells her “If you were in the hospital, I wouldn’t stop on the way to have a beer”, and she replies “if you were in the hospital, I wouldn’t stop for red lights”. Anyone recall what episode that came from?

Exactly. Politicians lead by reading poll numbers rather than understanding poll numbers. And what many people don't realize is that you can create polls that ask things in a way that deliver whatever result one is looking for. And "we the people" are manipulated in this way -- ALL THE TIME. Reliance upon polls in one's decision-making is basically the difference between a politician and a stateswo/man. And it would seem that the world is fresh outta stateswo/men.......

I'm not a statistics expert. I don't have a degree in statistics. However I've ran enough reports in excel over the last 12 years to know when you poll numbers over a long set of time, you should see roughly a 50/50 split in your end result numbers, averages of averages. It's when you have an outlier within your data or when data is omitted that your average of averages is off. That's how numbers can lie. Speaking to politics, that's also how you skew numbers to fit your political agenda.
