I miss my boys, was a tough scene. And giving the homeless veteran a proper funeral touched my heart.

The ending of Excelsis Deo is one of the most emotional scenes on the show with the background of a funeral at Christmas time, The scene at Arlington was made with the full co-operation of the United States Department of Defense, who liked the message of the script and wanted to do what they could to help.they provided a full Marine Honor Guard and Navy Chaplain and The fourth person attending the funeral is the superintendent of Arlington National Cemetery John C. Metzler Jr., appearing as himself

Such an amazing show. I'll admit... I may finish the last episode of the last season and before I know it, I'm back to another run of the series starting with S1 E1. It's just too good not to want to re-experience the phenomenal characters, dialogue, challenging circumstances, fantastic cameos and recurring guests over and over again. Currently, I'm on S5 E22... once again. lol 🤣 It wasn't until the second run through (many years ago) that I truly realized how much I adored the character of Donna Moss. Many of her scenes with Josh and others were priceless.

I'd rather have a West Wing/This Is Us sequel with Sterling K. Brown as President Pearson, Sam and Josh in Congress, and some new characters filling the West Wing. Maybe get Melissa Fitzgerald back to play the new Press Secretary, and Justin Hartley as Kevin doing fundraising a la Clooney.

@Baccory I liked the Newsroom but thought it was a little too smug for its own good. Some great scenes in it and good performances. It was probably a few years too early though. The WW is far better IMO.

@@user-gh3vw2oj1b My comment was a joke you utter genius. It's a play on the double meaning of "fantasy" being both the literary (and now movie/television) genre and an idealised version of reality. The joke that went completely over your head being that the journalists and politicians with their morals and ability to affect change portrayed in Newsroom and West Wing can't exist in real life.

For someone so gifted at writing dialog, he has a rough time expressing his thoughts! We need another Sorkin show - stat. It's been too long. Bring back Sam (or maybe a Bartlett daughter?!) as President or get back on the news room floor. If I have to watch the train wreck of reality, I'd like to balance it with something actually entertaining. Aaron's politics and mine may not align 100%, but he does write such compelling shows that intertwine the real-world very well.

hmm, someone should tell Sorkin goldfish can definitely live that long, it's just that usually it's a kid's pet which means they forget to feed it (or as the movie cliche goes, the parent messes up when the kid is away)
