Hi.. I was 8 years old when this program aired. My Mother didn't want me to listen to these mystery shows, but there was a way to sneak by. Hopefully todays young kids might just listen to a few of these wonderful radio dramas and maybe they will discover how powerful drama is from the radio days... Think! movies and TV set the stage for a story, but radio drama allowed the listener to "imagine" what the actors looked like, which is why many of us were glued to the radio! Thanks, Paul

I still have the cassettes. My gosh I would burn them on cds to listen to at bedtime in the 90s. Real entertainment

I have a record collection. My FIL worked for RCA. and both my HImself and me, kept our records. I bought a record player, and put on Elvis, when I brought the record player. Inside of the cover was a doodle from when I was 10, and the little caricature that I drew of myself, kissing Elvis. Time traveler, Love me tender...

These plays can teach modern film makers a thing or two. No need for c.g.i. when you can use the imagination.

I really enjoy listen to these radio shows as this was the centerpiece of where the family would gather at day's end to relax before turning in. I remember my Grandmother and Mom talking about the radio shows.

I remember a very similar plot being parodied in a Looney Tunes episode.
@mnirwin51128 жыл бұрын
I believe it. Looney Tunes gave its audience terrific exposure to some really classical material ... even when we didn't realize it!

I wanted to see what other episodes you had, but you don’t have your shows on playlists, according to their name. They are just all jumbled together. Impossible to find what I’m looking for.

Sorry Chicago Girl. Will try and sort the shows into playlists when I can. Did you try to just do a search on the channel? Thanks for using the channel and commenting. We really appreciate it!

The endings always seemed to focus on ONE fatal flaw the murderer overlooked when committing the crime, like this: INSPECTOR NABB: "Mr. Gurnsey, I'm afraid you're going to have to come downtown for questioning." GURNSEY: "What *ARE* you talking about?" INSPECTOR: "We believe your wife was murdered- by YOU." GURNSEY: "That's absurd! I TOLD you I was out of the country, participating in the Remington Regatta in Scotland." INSPECTOR: "Then I have an even better reason to suspect you. There was an item in the paper the other day...." GURNSEY: "SO?" INSPECTOR: "It stated that the Remington Regatta was called off......due to- BAD WEATHER." **pounding of the kettle drum, followed by that mournful whistle........**
