My mother sang this song every year on Anzac day with all her friends at the get together after the march... It stood for what she and all her friends had left of her war time memories

My grandmother used to sing this to me as a child as a lullaby. She's since passed on and this song is all I have to help me sleep when I am ill like tonight. Grandma, I miss you so much.

My mom and dad had a record of WW2 songs and this was one of the songs. I remember hearing it often as a very young child. My parents both fought in WW2. My Dad being in the Navy was taken POW in Manila and my mom was a Czechoslovakian national born in Vienna who left Europe because of persecution of being Jewish and headed to Manila to be with relatives. She and my dad met there. They married several month later and right after, my father was taken prisoner and my mom worked for the resistance and lived in the streets for three years.

I never realized that this must have been a war song.... or a song released during the wartime, with lyrics like: "There'll be love and laughter and peace ever after, tomorrow, when the world is free. The shepherd will tend his sheep, the valley will bloom again, and Jimmy will go to sleep in his own little room again. There'll be bluebirds over the white cliffs of Dover, tomorrow, just you wait and see!" Nice song. Very positive and uplifting for the times.
