@@charmagne2102 It is the Mystery of the Trinity. The Father sends the Son to reveal his nature
@stick-itproductions.33074 жыл бұрын
@@charmagne2102 scripture often mentions Jesus as the creator, the laborer who brought everything into being. Everything Jesus created, mind you, was dictated by God. In the book of Genesis, God speaks and things come into existence (let there be______) so it is by his *word* God brings creation into being. In John chapter 1 it says: in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were *made by him* and without him was nothing made that is made... And *the word* was made flesh and dwelt among us... So Jesus, being the Word of God, did have a major role in creation. Then in Collosians 1:16 it says, For by him (the son, Jesus) were all things that are in heaven, and that are in the earth... all things were created by him and for him." (Side Note: this concept of creation by God's words can also be seen in that Aslan, if I'm remembering The Magicians Nephew correctly, created Narnia by singing.) So Aslan is the one who creates Narnia, Just as Jesus is the one who creates the Earth- but each does so according to his Father's purpose and will. To sum it up: Aslan's depiction of creating Narnia and being a fictional representation of Jesus as the son of God (Emperor over the Sea) is in line with what Scripture says, as Jesus is acknowledged as the one by whom and in whom all things come into existence according to the will of God.

She is described as being really tall, supposedly at least 7 feet (2.13m). If John Rhys Davies (6'1") can be made to look like a 4' dwarf, then you'd think they could do a few tricks to make an actress look taller.

I haven’t seen this movie since I was a kid, so I expected it to age poorly. The 4 leads are ok, not too bad but not great, but really just about everything else works. The score, the mix of good cgi and good practical effects, the art design, the voice acting (Liam Neeson in particular), and Tilda Swinton giving a really great performance as the White Witch. All the adult actors do a great job from James McAvoy to Jim Broadbent to James Cosmo as Father Christmas. It’s really refreshing to watch a Disney movie where there are stakes, themes, a decent moral message, a serious tone with the right amount of fun, and (most importantly) treating the source material with the respect it deserves. I’m legitimately proud of this movie, it’s not perfect but it means a lot to me and hopefully a few others.

@merelycorrect95679 жыл бұрын
But I thought the witch was a witch, and Aslan a lion?
@jakobfel29 жыл бұрын
Merely Correct The witch represents Satan/the Antichrist in one person, depicting the "angel of light" form of Satan. However, Tash (the evil deity of the Calormene Empire) is symbolically Satan as he truly is: an evil, ugly false deity filled with pride. Aslan is the form that Jesus Christ takes in the World of Narnia; He takes upon the visage of a lion, resembling the Bible's description of Christ as being the Lion of Judah. His Father (God the Father), in the Narnian faith, is the Emperor-Beyond-the-Sea, just as the Ten Commandments are depicted as the Deep Magic, and then the salvation via redemption through Christ's sacrifice is depicted as the Deeper Magic from before the dawn of time. I know my basics of Narnian lore, but I might be wrong. I find it somewhat interesting that God the Father (the Emperor) and God the Son (Aslan, the Guardian King) appear in Narnian lore, but God the Holy Spirit does not (at least from what I know). I mean, Aslan crowned Frank I and Helen as the first King and Queen of Narnia, and he crowned the Pevensie children as High King, High Queen, King, and Queen, which resembles how the Christians will reign with Jesus over the universe for eternity, but yet there's really no depiction of the Holy Spirit in the Narnian lore.
@jakobfel29 жыл бұрын
Oh, okay, I see what you're saying. I really didn't know He was represented in there. I mean, I knew the Father and Son are represented, but never knew the Holy Spirit was too. Thanks :)

It was several years after it was released to dvd that I finally watched it at my aunt's house and thoroughly enjoyed watching. I was amazed at the details and visuals. The ability to see what Narnia could actually be like if it were a real place. Still to this day I truly enjoy this movie.
