I remember when i was first watching these episodes. I was convinced beyond doubt that denjiro left wano after oden died and somehow made it to east blue and started a kedo dojo, eventually trianing a certain navigationaly challenged moss head.

In true Oda fashion and if Yasuie wasn't likable/respectable enough, he gets more fleshed out on a fashback and we're shown why the scabbards respect him so much. His death was truly one of the greatest failures of the Samurai/Mink/Pirate alliance.
