Fun fact: Foo Fighters asked Incubus to play I Can't Explain for them because Dave was sick and having vocal issues. Incubus learned the song in their trailer.

Absolutely. I've seen Eddie Vedder sing a bunch of their songs with the Who themselves and with Pete solo and never thought he sounded good at all, but Love Reign O'er Me is an incredible song to pull off this impressively. Amazing!

'The D'!!! with Squeeze Box were outstanding. And Incubus made those 2 song my new favorite Who covers.

can i honestly say, for my circle of friends anyway, there isnt one of us who doesnt like the who. they may not be our favourite band, but to me, they respect an honorable acknowledgement. personally, i feel there the best rock band to ever take a stage. and not one ounce of that is about smashing instruments in earlier days. a highly influential band. one of the best of all time. and if your one that hates, im sorry you dont get it.

There wasn’t a bad performance out of this bunch, but yeah, Pearl Jam blew everyone out of the water. Great stuff overall.

Pearl Jam was flying so high above the rest, I actually felt bad for the other bands... plus, what was up with the flaming lips, their whole set was a series of off-notes and corny stage antics, and the guy just kept waving his ribbon thingy around the whole time

I honestly hope you're joking. Eddie Vedder performed amazingly and did these songs justice. Roger Daltrey personally contacted Vedder to sing Love, Reign O'er Me for the movie Reign Over Me, which I doubt would have been the case if he felt that Eddie couldn't sing. So please, excuse yourself from a video when all you want to do is trash talk the performance. Thanks.

Totally enjoyed this, but damn without Entwistle, the bass is so much more downsized. The Who will always be one of the greats in Rock 'N' Roll.

I wish they'd continued yearly Rock Honours, perhaps for Led Zeppelin and other such deserving acts.

All of the bands were amazing. But for me, Pearl Jam do THE best covers of Who tracks. The energy (from every one of them) is amazing. I discovered over Christmas that an American close friend of our daughter (who we think of as our 3rd daughter 🤗) is a fan of Pearl Jam and she hadn't realised how much Pearl Jam/Eddie Vedder admired The Who, and especially Quadrophenia.

Dave Grohl knows what he is doing, the FF drummer channels a great KM. Love the skeleton suit on the Bass Guitarist (as JAE would say).

Im not a fan of the flaming lips, but the drummer impressed me. he didnt just smash the ride or crash cymbal for most of the song like a lot of the drummers did.

Why the hell isn't this available on disc? I'm not a big fan of Pearl Jam, but with the strings and horns in the back ground, They owned those songs. Wish I could have been there. The sound put out was amazing. This was a rare event.

Couldnt the Foo Fighters find a song written by The Who? There are a gazillion of good songs written by Pete Townshend! How about Heaven and Hell, well written by Entwistle but anyhow! Pearl Jam took everyone to school in this concert!

Let's be honest any artist or band that try to cover the Who have to contend with the fact that Moon was one of the greatest, if not the greatest drummer of all time, Entwhistle was one of the greatest, if not the greatest bassist of all time, Townsend was one of the greatest if not the greatest songwriters and rhythm guitarists of all time and Daltrey was one of the greatest if not the greatest rock singer & front man of all time. And add in the fact that they played ridiculously well together, well anything else is mostly likely to be a pale copy at best. Having said all that, the Foos did a pretty decent job and Pearl Jam were fucking excellent.

Zak Starkey sure is amazing as the 3rd drummer of the Who. Obviously Zak prefers to stay under the radar of fame and the Rock Star persona many musicians fall prey too. A very unassuming man who likes to let his drumming and performance do the talking. Kenny Jones of the small faces, while a good drummer just wasn't the best fit for the Who. John Entwistle was a big supporter of Kenny and that gave him a lifeline. In the end both Roger and Pete knew Kenny Jones needed to get the Axe. Zak hit the ground running when he landed the job of drummer for the Who, Roger and Pete sing his praises. The amazing thing is Ringo Star didn't want his son to pursue a career in music and would rather his son become a lawyer or a doctor. Ringo Star, drummer of the Beatles is proud of his sons success. Another excellent drummer is Jason Bonam who's father is the Late Bonzo, drummer of Led Zeppelin, Jason is currently working with Sammy Haggar and is doing very well.

All y'all gushing about "how great all the acts were" are full of it: the only stand-out GOOD act [believe it or not] was Adam Sandler who you could tell was really excited & happy to be playing w/ the WHO! - most of the rest of them were sluggards who kept messing up until a couple of old f!cking men came out AND SCHOOLED ALL THE YOUNGSTERS ON *HOW TO ROCK AND ROLL!!!* So glad I was there to bear witness. Y'all should be ashamed of yourseln for lying about that night. Meaty & Bouncy kicked ass & took names, and it was clear Adam was the only one who felt honored to *have* the honor of honoring his heroes!

I was treated so well by ROGER the entire weekend. The only thing that disappointed me is the two songs VH1 cut out. The most important songs was THE WHO coming out and you cut out You Better You Bet and 2,000 years.....why cut those two songs out...we would LOVE a DVD including those two songs PLEASE!!!! That is me at the end who he got on his knees and told me a sweet farewell with the light blue ball cap. Alyce
