One of the best drivers of his generation, a winner in everything he's driven and yes, that DOES include NASCAR. He qualifies for the Chase, but gets told he can't drive. He has fights with other drivers, yet suddenly and miraculously he's not doing things the 'NASCAR way'. A suspension breaks, but the jet dryer incident is supposedly his fault. Badly underappreciated and will hopefully get more respect in a series he immediately dominated a different code of back in the '90s. Ask his former peers, the Gordons and Johnsons of this World. They will tell you just how good Juan Pablo Montoya REALLY is.

Pure excellence in that comment. So true.

so long as you ask Juan and he will tell you how truly tough it is to run a sprint cup car. he said it was the toughest thing he's ever driven.

he's a great driver but another example of how open wheel racers and even champions cant cut it in a stock car.

Rusty trying to hype of Harvick at the start saying you don’t want to mess with him. Juan was not scared of him

I sure will not miss seeing Montoya in Nascar.

I love when Rusty says "Montoya's the instigator in this thing now" when Juan tried multiple times to walk away and was grabbed by Harvick.

I was actually gonna make one of those about a year ago and forgot all about it. Thanks for reminding me!

I didn't think there was more to that than just Watkins Glen. Good find!

One thing that pissed me off is that Montoya said Harvick was grabbing him when Montoya was grabbing and pushing Harvick, (at the Glen)

I'm not a huge Harvick fan and the Watkins Glen incident totally exemplifies why. He gets taken out and instead of figuring out what happened, he goes in guns blazing after Montoya who got punted into him. He did the same thing at Bristol in 2013, when Hamlin had a tire go down and started a big wreck, and Harvick went and pitted in Denny's pit stall trying to start a fight instead of just using judgement and figuring out that Denny didn't wreck anybody intentionally. Montoya wasn't always great either, but Harvick's obsession with playing constant mind games is the reason I don't like him

The Watkins Glen race was Montoya's fault. The guy knew he had a slow car on restarts and cut out in front of a faster car and slammed on his brakes to try and take the corner and there was nothing the guy behind him could do. Honestly I think Montoya started learning later that it was ok to give up a position and get it back later but during this event he was still stuck in the F1 mindset that cars could stop on a dime and getting positions back wasn't a large aspect. I don't blame Harvick for being mad at him he wrecked a good car, the guy shouldn't have gone straight to cup, he should have spent some time in the lower leagues

Juan had actually wrecked Harvick 2 or 3 times that year before this incident. None of it was intentional, but i'm sure Harvick was fed up with it.

Honestly Harvick was just upset that every week it seemed like Montoya took someone out. In this case Montoya should have known not to try and block a faster car and then brake check him into the corner.

Harvick is the biggest pussy in Nascar. Always coming out with his helmet. And Montoya was actually not the cause of that accident.

But Harvick is a hell of a better racer than Montoya
@user-fi1xu1pp7p8 жыл бұрын

Is Montoya still in Nascar? One of the most overrated drivers ever.
@nascarfanatic24259 жыл бұрын
He left for a year to compete in IndyCar. He's back this year, though. He'll be racing for Roger Penske in the #12 Ford.
@packalfa84879 жыл бұрын
nascarfanatic2425 haha! Is he seriously coming back?
@nascarfanatic24259 жыл бұрын
Franco G He is. And Team Penske will be a 3 car team. Probably 3 of the top-10 most notorious drivers in NASCAR will be on the team: Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano, and now Juan Montoya.

Glad to see this train wreck of a driver (Juan Pablo), leaving the sport and making room for somebody who really deserves a chance like Kyle Larson. I mean seriously, the guy took out a fucking jet dryer.

ski czar And not to mention the Jet Drying accident wasn't his fault because something in his car is broke. You know, context is everything.
