As someone who enjoys horror games, I actually like the idea behind the warden. I think it's an interesting addition to the game and nothing that I ever expected out of Minecraft.

Great, now I gotta add those dust and soul lantern particles to the game

funfact: the person that coded the warden, striders and soul speed also made the aether mod

I love the fact that most sounds the warden makes are either terrifying or powerful, except for when the warden “speaks”, that being when it goes “hmm?” Or when it gets hit.

Just tried out the Ancient City for the first time in survival, and it's actually way more fun than I thought it would be. The chain reactions of sculk sensors and shriekers means that you have to carefully dismantle the shriekers without triggering anything, or if you have to trigger something, you have to plan an escape route. The warden really is the scariest thing in the game.

I love the Ancient Cities. Full Netherite and an array of librarian villagers has made me immortal. So the idea that this nigh-unkillable monstrosity can two-tap me in my best equipment is refreshing.

The way the warden is animated coming out of the ground is well done. Very satisfying to watch

10 Years ago when I was 12 years old playing Minecraft, I wanted to create a mod which would generate underground ruins and forgotten cities... Here we are, 10 years later. I cant believe it, but this is exactly what I dreamed about having in Minecraft.

I don't think there's ever been a trailer that missed. This is hands down my favourite one so far.

Plot twist: the chicken is working with the warden

I like how when the chicken put off the shrieker the warden didn't spawn, but when the player made the sound the shrieker spawned it. They really did put a lot of thought into these animations.

While the update isn't everything I would like it to be, it is still an update for a game with a new biome, the new ancient city, blocks, mobs, and more! Hope everyone makes the most of it.

the warden and ancient cities are cool. i like all the theories and blocks we got with it. but i mean.. why not just call it the Deep Dark Update? or The Swamp Update? all they really did was add frogs and a new tree. and mud, i guess. When I first saw the Wild Update I was really excited. I *really* wanted to see them update the birch forest, as well as other biomes that really need work, like the savannah for example - which is basically a really boring plains biome with some red trees. And then they didnt even give us an azalea wood type then they took away fireflies. they gave us a bunch of goat horns for no real purpose, and this update just wasnt what it seemed like it would be. The deep dark is an amazing concept, but it wouldve been appreciated better if that was what the update was meant to be. Not just a *part* of the update. especially considering its almost the entire update anyway. just my opinion

Tbh the updates are awesome, but it always hurts imagining the other things they could have added in these updates. This is the Wild Update, so why not add Azalea wood, sharks, and more animals for a couple of the biomes?

The Warden is one of the most impressive mobs i’ve ever seen! I especially love the animation of it coming out the ground! Great job devs!

I might have some bad thoughts on the delays Mojang has recently been doing, but seeing the result after two updates worth of delays, side by side to the live display of the warden in 2019/20, I absolutely appreciate that they decided to work more on this concept. If the end result is worth the wait, I am ready to wait 10 updates for a feature to be released!

You've got to hand it to Mojang--if you told me a year or two ago that they were going to add a magic underground city with a terrifying (by Minecraft standards) Warden that smells and hears you to chase you down, I would have said, "That sounds like an interesting mod." But they've managed to make it really feel like it really belongs in Minecraft. I'm super excited

I absolutely love the way this trailer looks. And I love how they animated the warden exactly how it should interact. *Spawns in and doesn't know where it's at or where to look, until a single vibration is made.*

If there's a demension so fiercely guarded that means there's a huge reward on the other side

I’m so excited to play this with my friends on my computer split screen. It makes the warden slightly less terrifying being that close to someone else irl.

I can't wait for caves and cliffs part 4: Archeology and caves and cliffs part 5: bundles next year!

It warms my heart to see the game that was so simple when I was young grow into such a huge and interesting and explorable world. Personally I would like to see abbandoned villages be added, aftermath of a zombie attack

I love the new glowing looking block where the lights have a cool effect where they go in and out forgot what it’s called starts with an s. It’s the block shown in the trailer that Steve runs on while chasing the chicken before the monster appears. The glow light effect of the lights going in and out on that block gives me a Tron kind of vibe I love it. I hope Minecraft comes out with more different color of this blocks. I think it would be awesome to have different colors. There could be red, pink, yellow, green, orange, purple, magenta. Imagine all of those colors with that cool glow effect where the lights go in and out so pretty.

Love the Warden! Love the Ancient Cities. My hope is this update was so “small” because they want to focus on a new Dimension involving the Warden as much as and as soon as possible.

So cool, can’t wait for the release!

I've been really looking forward to the Warden since Minecon 2020. And now he's almost here. But the happiness of this event is spoiled by the lack of fireflies. (sighs) Oh... I hope I'm not the only one who misses it.

Considering that all of the Deep Dark content was originally planned for the Caves and Cliffs update (which ITSELF had to be split into two updates), it's satisfying to finally see it arrive.

Honestly, I feel super let down by this update. I don't think the warden should count as a feature here since it was supposed to be added literally 2 updates ago so it was already way overdue. The only other thing they added was a new swamp biome, which, while a great feature, is not super common and should not merit a title as bold as, "The Wild Update". With just some frogs, mud, and new trees, I don't think the title is justified and I definitely don't like how they announced new features and then essentially canceled half of them. If you're going to announce a feature, you should be prepared to deliver on it.

I think its finally cool that we get to see the warder and its new city in action but I wish there was an update to the biomes above or something cause the mangrove biomes look sick but I wish either updated biomes or new biomes that are either based on real life or something kinda new but feels realistic in a way.

the deep dark is literally like the coolest thing in minecraft period

What I do know is that once you get to the ancient city, the entire city is misaligned with the main piece by one block

Y'know, for something called 'the wild update' I saw a surprising lack of wild in this trailer. It was entirely underground, for crying out loud.

Looks fun and interesting as someone that loves horror games! Looking forward for the update!

The only "wild" component in this update is the warden and the mangrove swamp. That's all. I'm really hoping they do as they promise in 1.20.

They could add wireless redstone in the form of skulk sencers that when crafted with echo shards gives configurable sound Recognition. For example when set to pick up walking it will only output if it hears walking or another example a skulk sencer that picks up on specific note block sounds.

Overall i think this was a decent update, a bit disappointing compared to what was initially implied, but there is no feature here that isn't great.

I really appreciate the use of skins other than Steve and Alex in this. I think they did the same for one of the old Pocket Edition trailers? Makes the world feel much more lively!

I Don't agree that this update is lacking, the warden seems like it should count for three mobs instead of one, and the ancient cities are massive and filled with lore!
