Rapunzel and her Prince are so wholesome in this version, I love it. They actually got a happy ending because they GTFOd the story before it could get worse, lol. Her Princes is just such a goofy sweetheart, I love it.

I think that by the time Rapunzel stood up to the Witch and rode off with the Prince, the Giant is actually still on the loose, so it's left up to the audience whether they escaped or not.

I actually like that Rapunzel both lives and has a faithful prince in this version. It makes her choosing to go with the prince so much more painful to the witch since Rapunzel is making an active choice in her on right instead of being conveniently killed. That conscious decision not only shows that people with strained upbringings can choose their own path, but it also makes the witch’s anguish over losing her “daughter” so much more powerful: the witch didn’t lose Rapunzel because she died, the witch lost her because Rapunzel made the decision herself. I only wished we had seen Rapunzel and the prince one last time at the end, but that’s just cause I love the chemistry between the actors lol

“The Witch” was also a very caring and loving mother. Are you misjudging her because she is a witch? She showed the most love in this movie. I would reevaluate your responses to this scene. Honestly, your comment sounds very shallow and misguided. It makes me wonder how you treat your parents.

She didn't kidnapper Rapunzel. Rapunzel's father stole greens from the witche's garden and to call it 'square' she asked for their baby in return. She then cursed them because Rapunzel's father stole the beans, which ties in with the Baker (Rapunzel's brother) and Jack.

To those who have never seen the stage play, Disney actually changed how Rapunzel and her prince's story goes in the second act. When the witch sent Rapunzel away, she sent her to a desert where she gave birth to twins all by herself. When both princes go into the woods after the giant's wife attacks, it's revealed that they're both having affairs with Rapunzel and Cinderella. Rapunzel's Prince finds Snow White in that glass casket while the seven dwarves stand guard and Cinderella's prince found the tower that Sleeping Beauty is in. After the main characters trick the giant's wife to go somewhere else to find Jack, she accidentally crushes Rapunzel in the process, killing her. With this, in the end, after Cinderella cuts ties with her prince, both princes wake up Sleeping Beauty and Snow White and they get their happy endings marrying them. The main problem with this is while Rapunzel dies and her prince marries Snow White in the end, we never find out what happened to their twins. I'm glad that they made Rapunzel live happily ever after. Although, there are two things I wished they did. Number 1, show that Cinderella's prince ends up with Sleeping Beauty like in the play. And two, show Rapunzel meeting the Baker. In this movie and the play, it's revealed that they're brother and sister, but they never meet. Rapunzel still thinks that the witch is her mother when she really isn't. I wish that Rapunzel found out the truth and got to meet the Baker. And with that, she would get to meet her baby nephew. If they kept Rapunzel giving birth to twins, they could've showed the Baker meeting them too. Plus, imagine how the Baker's wife would feel knowing that the hair she cut belonged to her sister in law. With Cinderella, Jack, and Little Red Riding Hood living with the Baker, I wish that they all got to meet Rapunzel. Even if they still decided to not have her stay with her prince so he can marry Snow White, she could've ended up living with the Baker to that way the two siblings would get to know each other.

In the play, it's revealed that Rapunzel was crushed by the giant's wife. After that, her prince ended up marrying Snow White and his brother marries Sleeping Beauty. Yes, his brother was with, Sleeping Beauty, and the Baker's wife all at the same time. Also, in the play, Rapunzel gave birth to twins in the desert before the prince shows up and she helps him see again. We never know what happens to their twins though after she dies and he marries Snow White.

Well, I was watching this for the first time when I realized that my mom babysat for Mackenzie and her cousin Katie a while ago when they were kids! Katie just got married and I didn't even know Mackenzie was an actress! I remember hearing about Rapunzel a lot but I was only like 6 so I didn't really know what she meant by, "I got Rapunzel!" Anyways, if Mackenzie was reading this, I'd say McMillan! (Inside joke😉)

I did some research because I was wondering what other movie has Rapunzel in live action other than animation. And I found out that there are only 3 movies dealing with Rapunzel's story. One with Barbie, Disney's Tangled, and this movie. This is the only live action movie with Rapunzel and closest to Grimm's source material. I mean, I've never seen the Barbie version, but I'm sure it wouldn't have Grimm's dark elements.
