Here we have a most unusual truck, the Wittke Burro! Very few of these were ever produced, and Jared, Mike, and I happened to stumble across one pretty much completely on accident during my trip to California. This truck has an unusual packing system, similar to that of the Heil Collectomatic. Another feature that makes this truck unique is that the body is in fact, a 6-yard dumpster, which when full, is removed from the truck and emptied by a front loader. Just in the couple weeks since I filmed this video, this truck has most likely been decommissioned. In the yard were a pair of brand new small McNeilus RL's which will be replacing this truck and this yard's other MSL. So I'm really glad that I got the chance to document this unusual truck before its extinction! The driver was a bit apprehensive about filming at first, but after explaining the historical importance of this truck, and a quick call to the supervisor, everything was good, and this driver was super awesome! A huge thanks to him! The driver of the Wittke front loader at the end, however, was total tool and called the cops on us, even after we told him what we were doing and after the Burro driver told him that we had all the proper permissions to film.
