I am 20 seconds in. I have never heard of this woman. But if she is a any type of thorn to bobby boy, she is my hero and will have my forever respect and gratitude.

Manfred was betting on games, knowing where the juiced balls were being used. If the truth came out, he would be banned from baseball for life.

I don’t need a scientist to tell me that mlb was juicing the balls! The fact that they put all of em under lock and key and kept the balls out of the hands of researchers should tell you everything.

The Pujols surge at the end of the season was strange. Kinda felt like he was being served up meatballs to get to 700, which is probably the case but mlb could have easily influenced it by making sure he got the denser balls as well. he also had the grandfathered “illegal” bat that everyone was crying about in the World Series. This isn’t a Pujols issue, it’s mlb doing what they can to appeal to casual fans. “DINGERS!!!”

This explains Pujols power surge the 2nd half of last season. He was hitting but not bombing them like he did later in the year.

This reminds me very much of the 90's Sosa-McGwire home run chase. MLB lapped up the attention and cast dispersions at reporters asking about bottles of Andro in their lockers. With waning relevance in the sports landscape, the league WANTED stars chasing big milestones for headlines. If they could put their finger on the scales, they damn well certainly would.

This has been going on since at least the late 90s early 2000s. As my friends and I would go to a lot of A’s games and we would get to the stadium early to watch BP and between that and foul balls and in game HRs after a few seasons we had a’lot of MLB balls. After a while we had so many MLB balls we would take them to our local fields and play with them along with our everyday standard sporting good baseballs. When one of us would ripped an unusually far HR almost every time it was with the official MLB balls…

I’ve been saying this for some time. I’ve been an avid baseball fan for decades. The home run is becoming too common. There was a very special feeling that came with home runs when they were less prevalent. I honestly miss that feeling.

They made this way worse than what it could have been. All they had to say is they were experimenting with different balls and to get accurate data for pros the need the pros to use them and they are adjusting according to the data. Controversy gone

It's ultimately about money, juice the balls juice the attendance , more fans more money more jerseys are sold, hats etc. They were trying to adjust their strategies as the season went on like juiced balls for historic homerun hitters then altered balls when they had few pitchers in big games get more strike outs , but mostly these changes benefited hitters as there clearly is a crack down against pitchers ie: spit balls resin patches and anything to get a advantage or edge to counter the juiced balls that the hitters enjoyed. Now as we know they are inspecting pitchers gloves and hands at the end of each inning. Baseball can be a boring drawn out game and at some level you would understand why they play around like this but at the same time it's hypocritical of MLB to juice balls but crack down on juiced bats or scuffed balls that some pitchers use to do in the old days or maybe they still do. Notice there are no more 20 game winners in baseball that use to be a true measure of a ace pitcher now it's specialist relievers, designated hitters ( which I like) but you get the point tinkering can lead to failure or miss trust the only winners in this is MLB just look at their profits, but what really bothers me is the leagues behavior and denials they are no different than politicians who can't go an hour without lying to somebody.

I find this story very interesting. In my youth the balls would stay in play until the cover was knocked off or the stitching popped. Pitchers said as the game continued the covers became just loose enough the leather could be pushed to make it less aerodynamic. That gave off-speed and junk ball pitchers a greater advantage. Sliders, screwballs, and knuckleballs had an unique place in their bag of tricks. The ball manufacturing changed somewhere between the 80s and 2000s. The current controversy would not be such a big deal if the balls changed just once. Three times in five years is a big difference. Making the ball slightly smaller and causing injury to pitchers is enough to cry "Foul Ball" on the commissioner, the league, and the owners who sat back idly watching all this happen. The league has enough multi-million dollar pitchers that could file a class action lawsuit.

The juiced balls don't only benefit the hitter but they work against the pitcher. Lower seams, less drag, less possible movement and velocity from the pitcher. So even though players like Judge hit no doubters, the actual pitch was less effective and likely seen better by the batter.

The funny thing in '98 they want you to concentrate on the players that were "juiced" when in fact the home run race happened because of juiced balls.

Let’s not forget, at this time was also fighting unstable pitchers. Smaller seams and smoother balls means less movement on the balls. Which was a problem with the new RPMs the pitchers were reaching.

Manfred is using different balls in the post season so they can influence who wins in October. They juiced Judge’s 2022 balls and Pujols too. This is a threat to the game more so than the black sox scandal or Pete Rose betting on games. Changing the balls in games, in season, and most likely to control who wins. I wouldn’t be surprised if he is giving teams like SD and the Mets more deadballs to punish them for spending big in free agency and driving up player salaries.

I have been yelling from the mountaintops about the juiced ball since 1995. After baseball lost the world series in 94, suddenly 21 players hit 30+ homeruns. In 96, that number jumps to 43 players. In 1998, 13 guys hit over 40 with 4 hitting 50+. Shortly after, baseball found a scapegoat in steroid abuse. And sure thats part of it, but guys like Ken Griffey Jr, who was squeaky clean hit 56 two years in a row. Between 1977 and 1990 exactly zero major leaguers hit 50 or more homers. I contend that the ball was juiced in the early 90s, then after the strike, mlb tightened it even further. They then again reverted to a dead ball after the steroid scandal in order to clearly lay blame on PEDs. My 2 cents.

Is this also why we have tons of pitchers consistently throwing 100 mph now? Seemed like we had just a handful that could do that every once in a while back in the 90s.

I remember pitchers feeling the balls, and knowing they were wrong, too dense or small, several years ago. There are even clips of pitchers refusing to use certain balls and calling it out as juiced, and causing big drama. The umps were suspiciously fast to replace the ball, and the teams were quick to retrieve the ball (destroy the evidence).

MLB: Barry Bonds shouldn't be in the HoF because we think he juiced. MLB: The Barry Bonds era helped save baseball. We should juice the balls.

A baseball fan in Congress should introduce a bill to remove baseball's exemption in light of the issue with the ball and MLB's reticence to be honest about it and set it right. While "The Diamond" doesn't want to imply nefarious intent, it cannot be ruled out.

MLB with Bud Selig as commissioner turned a blind eye towards PED's during the 90's because the Bonds, Sosa and Mcguire homerun derbys were bringing more fans to the parks. Even when it became obvious what was going on MLB denied everything. Not until the public backlash became so severe did it force MLB to change. The backlash was very severe as we now have a generation of players that have hall of fame career numbers who will not be voted into the hall of fame, at least not during their lifetimes. This is the big black mark on Seligs tenure. Fast forward to today, since MLB can no longer allow the juicing of players, it has found a way to juice the baseball. It appears the current commissioner wants to add his own black mark to his tenure. Homers bring fans to the parks (at least that is how MLB sees it). The current dimensions of most new ballparks are very hitter friendly, combine this with a juiced baseball and you can see why pitching staffs are under a lot of stress. Personally, I hate cheap home runs as it really takes away from the game. A homerun should signify a real athletic accomplishment and that is what is being threatened. It removes the elite athlete level of performance. It is the equivalent of having an 8ft basket for NBA players. MLB should publish a standard of performance for the baseball that is timeless. The beauty of baseball is that it has a timeless aspect to it. Then let the athletes perform. A juiced golf ball has really ruined professional golf, lets prevent this from happening to Baseball. Having an average player belt 30 plus home runs is not good for baseball but that is becoming the new norm. All MLB needs to do is have sample batches of balls independently tested during the season to keep tolerances and performance within a range. Consistent performance is what the sport and fans deserve and want. If MLB is going to continue with the farce of a juiced ball then they might as well go all in with aluminum bats painted to look like wooden ones.

I believe a main reason Mlb can't admit juicing the ball is it might affect a judge's $$$ decision if a fan gets hit by a foul line drive.

I am a 'light' fan of baseball and played all bases in High School. First I have heard of this issue and is quite dis-heartening. With all the corruption We hear around the world , I hate to see this type [or any] of greed/corruption in America.

As a kid, I was primarily a pitcher A "juiced" ball can be dangerous in several ways, less reaction time for the pitcher on balls lined back to the mound, denser impact on hit batters, and pitcher's injuring their arms overthrowing as they try to compensate If Major League Baseball finds an acceptable ball for competition, then PLEASE keep it consistent Both for reasonable competition, and for player safety

This should be investigated by Congress as fraudulent practices

Ohtani is the only one that is negatively affected by this ball incidents in 2022. In other words, he was robbed.

Imagine being so bad that you're becoming a worse commissioner than BUD SELIG. Although that's obviously from the fan perspective, he's a mouthpiece for the owners at the end of the day. And in that regard, he's doing a damn good job.

The only part of this that matters AT ALL is the fact that it makes it easier to rig games. If all the balls were the same it wouldnt matter if they were juiced. MLB can make the balls however they want. But we dont need certain teams potentially gaining an advantage, especially with sports gambling being so big. Umpires do it. Tell me the guy who called a balk in the 7-7 HOU/LAD game the other day wasnt up to something potentially. Anyone watch the old Livan Hernandez playoff game vs ATL? It was clear.

Forever, it seems, I was always wondering how so many foul balls that were SMOKED line drives that you have about one second to react to, were not causing more accidental injuries or wprse even to fans along the sidelines. I think it was because(my thinking about this) my grandfather, my dad, and my brother and myself were at a day game in `78 or 79 at Yankee Stadium sitting in right field about 10 rows back from that low wall, the shortest distance from HP, it was nuts. Reggie Jackson hit a line drive home run right at us, the ball was at us before I could hear the report from his bat!! My grandfather instinctively put up his right hand to grab the ball. The sound of it hitting his hand was like a slap to the face from friggin Thor, or a person hitting water flat faced from 20 ft. in the air!! He cursed instantly and loud, and I never heard him curse in my life. My dad was sure his hand was broken all over. But grandpa just shook his hand and blew on it for a while, no broken bones. So how do people way closer and not giving full attention not get outright killed? With the ball so hard and tightly wound, I know a pitcher will die very soon from a comebacker screaming right at his face at 120 mph. My dear baseball friends, It is just a matter of time. I think , before this season ends, a pitcher will get hit and lose his life. I hope I am wrong. I pray that I am wrong!

In 2018 I introduced My Football Slider to MLB Pitchers, this deadly slider cut down on home runs and pitchers K per IP went from 8 to 12 in many cases. I taught Glasnow, Musgrove, Taillon, Kuhl, Crick, Flaherty, Fried, Jordan Hicks and dozens of others, to try my Grip, Tilt and Wrist action to help them go from avg ML pitchers to Elite. I told them Try my On center grip, Throw it like a football, Stiff wrist....I changed the MLB landscape starting in May 2018. Ohtani throws the Roger Beshens influenced football slider they now call the sweeper. I taught Joe MAddon it in Chicago back in May 2018 along with Aaron Boone. I also taught Matt Blake and Ethan Katz my football slider in May 2018, they got hired to exclusively teach my football slider. In May 2018 I exposed the Andrew Miller slider we are seeing everyone throw it from all arm angles. The Sweeper is the Roger Beshens Football slider. If you have any question I have every answer cause I created what's happening in MLB with this football slider.

My youngest brother hit an old baseball and uncorked it till it fell apart! We search for the middle cork and he hit it and from the houseyard to the cow pasture! It took 3/4 of an hour to find the cork of the baseball! There was alot of string though! This was about 25 years ago!

Not only can MLB manipulate the type of ball supplied to the games, but the ball clubs can also manipulate which balls are used. Within the supply of balls, there is variation. The club can put a clubhouse worker in charge of choosing the balls, and can alter them with temperature, handling, moisture content, storage conditions, etc. It is a known practice for a century. Second, I remember reading Justin Verlander's comments in 2019 and they only made sense and were reasonable. MLB thinks they are getting more fans with this nonsense, but they are only driving away their base fans. (Also, ESPN is only a cheerleader for MLB for the last 15 years. Their coverage makes me watch less baseball, not more.)

I recently worked for Rawlings in Washington Missouri, and it's funny you bring this up, because there were old balls that were to never be touched, but if you took one out it was blatantly obvious something was much different. The balls are all made in Porto Rico and are stamped when they get to the warehouse. They did it all to sensationalize the sport

I remember “juiced ball” was behind all of the offence in the 1990s. Turns out the ball wasn’t juiced, the players were. I’m thinking the same thing is going on today.

They were still using it last year in several Yankees games all to benefit Judge.

Manfred's dodging of questions about the baseballs gives a 'where there's smoke there's fire' look to the whole thing, and unfortunately casts a shade over player accomplishments. I have no doubt that Judge is a great power hitter, but his two greatest power-hitting seasons come in ones notorious for ball issues, with one of them including questions about balls pitched specifically to him. And Pujols... well he sure made an incredible comeback last year after so many poor ones. Highest AVG since 2014, highest HR/AB since 2016... Hard to believe it's all coincidence.

If the players didn't have any knowledge beforehand that the balls were juiced, then you really can't say that they were cheating.

Manfred wanted Pujols to smash home runs for ratings, and, again, for ratings, he wanted Judge to break the AL home run record. And, given how Judge has already been caught cheating this year against the Blue Jays, he knew damn well about the balls. Manfred is single-handedly ruining baseball. He needs to be fired.

Great video, very eye opening! From the data you have presented and from understanding MLB is a business that generates enormous amounts of wealth for people it is only logical that they the powers that be would want to deliberately engineer the ball to achieve results to the game that will increase revenue for people. From a purists point of view this is utterly shameful and tarnishes the game, and all statistics during these periods of time.

MLB robbed Ohtani of a second straight MVP. He should have had a three-peat MVP at the end of this season. Judge got a bunch of free home runs. He shouldn’t have gotten MVP over Ohtani even without his asterisk performance.

I think this reveals how much of an advantage the Yankees have over everyone... Many things that add up. (To be clear, this is speculation, but it makes sense) 1. The Yankees have become a brand. The logo is a global symbol. It benefits MLB if the Yankees win. 2. Since the introduction of replay review, calls can't go in the Yankees favor as often. In 2009 the replay review was very new and it wasn't as evolved as it is now, but since then the Yankees haven't won a WS. 3. "Juiced balls" for Judge... Yankees (the face of baseball) needs something to keep fans, global appearance, what more than a homerun chase to try to break a record? It's good for business as mentioned in my 1st point.. I wouldn't be surprised if behind closed doors, MLB & the Yankees are cheating and it's revealed years down the road.

Considering rob Manfred is the guy that when he was asked if he’d strip the trophy from the PROVEN TO HAVE CHEATED Houston astros team, he said “it’s just a piece of metal” I’m not surprised that he has 0 integrity in every facet of his job.

Now look what Ohtani is doing this year. Makes you wonder if the Angels are getting the juiced ball this year.

Juiced baseballs aren't knew to 2015, they were first wound tighter(using a larger cork core) back in the early 90's at the end of the "small ball" era, that was when large parks and stealing bases was a much larger factor due to the far fewer home runs being hit. MLB knew "dingers" where a huge fan draw and helped sell tickets to games that featured more power hitters and fewer 1-0 games. The "juiced" ball became such a sore subject that MLB backed off a bit for a few years, before coming back with even more tightly wound balls. SO you are on the correct track, but this didn't just start happening in the last 10 years. Btw, getting balls shouldn't be an issue, plenty of foul balls are claimed EVERY game.. not hard to find them and pay a few bucks.

The mlb is as crooked as a dog's leg. These guys keep Pete rose out of the hall for betting on basketball yet they are caught literally trying to rig outcomes and are put in charge of investigating themselves and surprise, surprise. No wrongdoing was found. It's obvious that they were trying to script storybook endings in the cases of Pujols and Judge. Which if you think about it as far as someone betting on another sport. What they did is far worse. They are trying to script history. Knowing the revenues that would come with said script. If I was Shohei Ohtani, I would be furious to hear about the leagues tampering as it cost him back to back MVP titles. Let's face it he should have gotten MVP anyways but everyone kept saying Judge is doing something that hasn't been done in 60yrs. But it had been done, just not in the AL. My rebuttal is that Ohtani was doing things that had never been done before... The man could have won the Cy Young. A truer dual threat doesn't exist. The name of the award is most valuable player. That describes Ohtani to a tee. Imagine if he had a team around him last year. Unlike Judge who has played on an all-star team every year.

I can’t find info re: Montana state university at Bozeman’s accreditation in either a masters or PhD program for Physics. Main campus has a PHD in philosophy and an MS in Physics On their website. Has anyone ever actually looked at this? What was her defense in out of curiosity? I see her focus but I can’t find a paper. Which is normally available given PHD students are published and professors to some degree during studies. I figured someone found the answer and I’ve been digging for a while.

I would think that pitchers would almost immediately notice any slight difference in a baseball.

Strike outs were up and batting averages were lower. So it also shows more players swing for the fences on every pitch and not change according to pitch count.

Setting a rule telling the defense where they can't line up is terrible. The game is boring. Strikeouts and home runs are the norm.
