Oh my. The editing. That's way too much. It's like he's trying to imitate films like "Spotlight" or "Big Short" but he thought the film was good because of the editing so he went crazy with it.

It is genuinely starting to bug me how up his own butt Johnny Harris is. Guy takes himself so seriously and genuinely thinks he’s doing hard-hitting investigative journalism when he’s just writing notes on people who ARE well-versed in the subject matter are saying, or “uncovering” things that everybody knows about already and then runs state department adjacent defense of. He is so self-gratifying about it all and it’s like dog you read a 10 year old Wikipedia article and looked at google maps and said “what IS this”

It was a bit odd I agree, but I think for people who might not know common information it's a more stimulating way to absorb concepts. All the editing and theatrical themes helps hold attention someone might otherwise not have. I agree though, googling these things would be simple.

literally Harris' vid was 90% of the time showing his own editing; to add tension and whatever's. but it doesn't come across that way because the information was provided alongside interviews (glimpses of it) although informative in nature, to the video's detriment, does the topic injustice even more so for the experts he interviewed; due to showcasing HIS RESEARCH instead of presenting them in a manner that showcases his aesthetics but doesn't overshadow the MAIN thing. and come on with that water spill; put the goddamn thing away from it instead of OOPSIE ITS ACTUALLY NOT THE FIRST TIME (i know, for the theatrics but no)
