Introducing The Wong Compressor by Wampler Pedals & Cory Wong.
This is a dual footswitch Compressor and Boost pedal that features
-Wampler’s legendary tone shaping controls
-Boost mode switch for either a flat frequency or rich, saturated mid boost;
-unique “Comp On” mode to bypass the footswitch;

@@onixtheone While this is often true, it also matters a lot if the tone controls work well with bass frequencies. Cory also is a beast on bass, so I bet it's fine, but a dedicated demo is still useful for players.

@Mathe Videos I'm sure the topology is similar to the ego compressor. Like a versatile Ego. Some of the features are pretty cool. The XLR out and the boost mode are nice but they aren't something I would particularly look for. But I DEFINITELY see why this is something on a Cory Wong pedal because a lot of his studio tone is straight into the console. My personal preference of compression is a 1176 style Compressor with a fender amp. (So my board has a Walrus Deep Six into a UAFX Dream 65). Overall, I can't see myself paying nearly $300 for a comp pedal lol. I'd love yo try it out though.

OK, I already own 4 great compressor pedals and a bunch of rack models, but Cory says “This is the best “ so, here we go… one more. Seriously, It will probably work great on my smaller pedalboard. Very entertaining video, as always, Cory.

I don't know what a compressor is, what it does, or play guitar / bass. I'm not even sure why I watched the whole video. All I know is I love watching and listening to whatever Cory Wong puts out. Still blown away his parents were smart enough to name him after a Vulfpeck song

The always-on switch is a very simple solution electrically. It only shorts the footswitch, nothing more. I'm stunned that everyone out there is so surprised about this feature.

honestly: I was almost set on shitting on this in terms of "yeah, who needs another pedal... like the market isn't saturated", but this honestly seems like a cool combination of a lot of good ideas. I wouldn't buy one if I already had a compressor, but if I would just start to build my pedal board or wanting to clean it up: good choice.

With the Cory Wong Signature Setting a get a popping noise on every attack! OK, there is maybe the Blend Knob to avoid this, but than the compressor effect is not hearable anymore.
