@@adolforosado Dogs, cats and terrorists also have their "own way of life". Point is, it is too general to call it a "way of life". What is dharma? Dharma has the Sanskrit root dhri, which means “that which upholds” or “that without which nothing can stand” or “that which maintains the stability and harmony of the universe.” Dharma encompasses the natural, innate behavior of things, duty, law, ethics, virtue, etc. Every entity in the cosmos has its particular dharma - from the electron, which has the dharma to move in a certain manner, to the clouds, galaxies, plants, insects, and of course, man. Man’s understanding of the dharma of inanimate things is what we now call physics. Violation of personal, social and environmental dharma due to human ego creates karma or cause and effect and reincarnation (birth/death duality). So, the purpose of hindu tradition (including temple, yoga and tantra traditions) is to minimize karmic burden which can either help one to fulfill their likes or get Moksha (microcosm to macrocosm) easily. Well validated vedic metaphysics Sankhya says that the dualities of nature are mediated by the conscious, immortal, immutable, self luminous, immanent (athma), transcendent and omnipresent Brahman and sustained by dharma (Sathvik guna)- so the need for hindu/dharmic tradition with temples, deities, mantras, rituals, symbols, festivals, ithihasas, puranas, pilgrimage centers, mutts, shastras (upanishads, dance, music, material science without violating dharma)

The word Hutam comes from the word Ahuti or Offering. The sloka which he was uttering was "Om Brahmarpanam Brahmhabi Bramhagnau Bramhanahutam Brahmheba Tena Gantavyang Brahmakarma Samadhina" Which means To the Supreme Lord (Brahm) I offer (Arpan) food (Brahm-habi) to the God created Fire (Brahm-agnau) within, and the 'hutam' or Holy Smoke that arises from the fire (Brahmana-hutam) that goes to (Gantavyang) 'Brahm'. Thus the process gets completed (Brahm karma Samadhina) Generally this prayer is offered before partaking of food. The Sloka suggests that everything is Brahm or God and the person is just the medium

Stone deities in hindu temples are for 2 reasons. 1. They are used as objects of attraction (so bathed, given food, dressed up) for focus and meditation in the presence of Sanskrit mantra vibrations, augmented by temple architecture. This technique is for reaching samadhi state which is nothing but the disappearance of subject (you) and object (external world) split momentarily (temple tradition) or temporarily and permanently (in Yoga tradition) to remove past karma or cause and effect (stored in the subtle body Chitta) and stop reincarnation (birth/death duality cycle) or to fulfil desires with reduced karmic burden 2. Stone deities are also symbolic representations of the well validated Vedic metaphysics Sankhya, nature and laws of nature.. You can sit at home and hear a power Sanskrit mantra with intense focus. It can do the same job. Point is microcosm (including human body) = macrocosm.

BS! The word 'Amen' comes from an Egyptian word. Also, since Hebrew didn't have any vowels back then, the word 'amen' was pronounced a little differently and it sounds nothing like the Sanskrit word 'Aum'. Hebrew has almost nothing to do with Sanskrit since Sanskrit is an Indo European language while Hebrew is a semitic language that evolved from ancient Egyptian language. The Egyptian language was born around 6200 years ago while Sanskrit was born around 3500 years ago. That's a HUGE GAP! There is no historical evidence to suggest that Sanskrit is even close to as old as many pseudo intellectual Hindus would like to say. If there is any, show me the evidence

In the west I prefer to use "the Creator", I happen to know that gods can be man made through Yogic/Tantric techniques and are energy forms consecrated usually onto rock which is stable and long lasting but the easiest to consecrate is a human form, however, they don't have the discipline or integrity of boundary. Temples in India all have consecrations for a variety of purposes. Temples in India are places to sit and absorb the energy , not to make prayer requests for material goods or offer advice to your creator about how Earth is run.

Yahweh, our Heavenly Father, is known as the Most High. The title Most High is given to Yahweh and it is a title only applied to Him and not to Yahshua. The Most High title gives us a new perspective on God’s nature. This title shows us that He reigns supreme in the entire universe and no one is above Him. Since He is the Most High and He sits in His majestic throne, He rules over all. This eternal and powerful Being is the same Being who seeks a close relationship with us.

First, YHWH is a proper noun, the personal name of Israel's deity. Second, Elohim is a common noun, used to refer to deity. Elohim is actually a plural noun (indicated by the /im/ as in cherubim and seraphim). ... Sometimes Elohim refers to plural "gods," as in "You shall have no other gods before me" (Deuteronomy 5:7).

Wtf! First of all, the word used for God in the Bible is ELOHIM, YHWH, EHYEH ASHER EHYEH, etc.. The word that's commonly translated into GOD is the Hebrew word ELOHIM. I don't agree with this translation because the ancient Jewish understanding of ELOHIM is very unique and different from all other. Just because the English word God comes from Sanskrit doesn't mean Christianity and Judaism copied it from Hindus. Also, the claim that the word God comes from Sanskrit and in Sanskrit, it means something else so we are using it in the wrong way is pure ignorance about how languages works. Languages, by definition, is not objective. That means the definition of a word is dependent on what the majority of people who uses that language says. For example, if majority of people start calling dogs cats, them dogs would be called cats and vice versa

Sarah Waldman: "The Germanic language wasn’t a singular one - it was actually made up of different dialects. One can hear, for example, clear distinctions between Old Norse and Old Saxon, or Western Germanic dialects such as Alemannic and Eastern Germanic dialects such as Gothic." My words: The term "Indo-European" is based on inclusions of some words from the southern regions beyond the Russian sphere of influence and based on resemblance with grammatic systems found in these regions. We might as well say that in the 19th century European linguists abbreviated "Hindu Kush" to "Hindu", later "Hindi", and that they considered everything coming from these regions was "Hindu" and hence "Sanskrit". After all, they were linguists, not cartographers.

Olaf shom Kirtimukh But deity in Sanskrit is called "Murthy". Moreover, Deities don't have the same meaning of so called "God" which is based on monotheism. Deities are symbolic representation of Vedic metaphysics Sankhya (Shiva + Shakthi, Vishnu/Narayana + Lakshmi, Brahma + Saraswathi) or nature (surya and chandra devata etc), laws of nature (Karma, dharma devata). Devata is completely different from the Judeo-Chrisitian- Islamic idea of angels, demigods and god. What exactly does devata mean? It is just a cosmic allegory for laws of nature which maintain the cosmic order. But demigods and gods refer to titans/superhuman beings of the so called pagans which Abrahamic religions absorbed. Unfortunately, some so called hindu gurus also mistranslate the sanskrit word Devata to demigods. Monotheism (followed by Abrahamic religions) says that there is just a transcendent 'god" who is totally disconnected from the universe after creating it out of thin air using a magic wand. .It led to blind belief in a book, needless prophets/middlemen, angels, non existent heaven/hell, fantasy stories (propagated as history), proselytization, and half baked responsibilities towards nature and discrimination/violence against (non believers" due to lack of understanding of Karma or cause and effect (created due to violation of balance of natural law or dharma by human ego), reincarnation (birth/death duality cycle) and Moksha (microcosm to macrocosm) But Sankhya Vedic metaphysics (around which the whole hindu/dharmic tradition was built says that without the conscious, self luminous, immortal, immutable, immanent (athma), transcendent and omnipresent divine, nothing can exist or nothing can be perceived in its current form or no duality cycles of energy can happen eg Birth/decay (including reincarnation of humans), wave/particle, energy/matter, manifestation/concealment of the universe (NOT CREATION OR DESTRUCTION since energy can be neither created nor destroyed). freezing/melting, man/woman, wake/sleep, summer/winter, day/night etc Sankhya Vedic metaphysics can be validated by logic, double slit quantum experiment and embodied experience (direct knowledge through focus + meditation). In other words, there is nothing other than the conscious divine + energy or (cosmic allegories Shiva + Shakthi or Vishnu + Lakshmi or Brahma + Saraswathi).. Microcosm = Macrocosm. Consciousness is an attribute of the immanent and omnipresent athma/soul or the divine just like heat is an attribute of fire and the sun. It is because of the immanent and omnipresent soul (conscious, immanent and omnipresent ATHMA) there is consciousness in the psycho-physical body. But in Abrahamic religions there is no connection between consciousness and the soul. Hindu/Vedas go further by saying TAT TVAM ASI meaning You (conscious and immanent soul) are (already) that (conscious, transcendent and omnipresent divine) regardless of whether you realize it or not because without the conscious, immanent and omnipresent soul or divine nothing can exist. Identification with thoughts and body is just an illusion because the 5 senses are experienced by the conscious soul and it is NOT the doer. ERWIN SCHRODINGER (FATHER OF QUANTUM PHYSICS) Schrodinger's biographer Moore, wrote -- “His system - or that of the Upanishads/Vedas - is delightful and consistent: the self and the world are one and they are all. He rejected traditional western religious beliefs (Jewish, Christian, and Islamic) not on the basis of any reasoned argument, nor even with an expression of emotional antipathy, for he loved to use religious expressions and metaphors, but simply by saying that they are naïve--and will NOT understand Quantum theory and consciousness.

I have tried to summarize my understanding of Jeffrey's points. Hope this is helpful -the English word God comes from the German word “Gutte* via the Dutch version *Gut* -many German scholars believe that Sanskrit is the mother language & it is closely related to Old German. German scholars have, for a long time, expressed their deep respect and emotional warmth towards Sanskrit -The Sanskrit word for chariot *ratha* re-emerges in the German *Rad* -The Sanskrit word for axle is *Aksha*, led to the German *Achse*, which is also used in the figurative sense of a close union and alliance -The Sanskrit word *Gribh or garbh* was *gripan* in Old German and is now *Griff or greifen* in German -unlike many other languages, both Sanskrit and German use all three genders: feminine, masculine and neutral. -coming back to the origin of the word God, it is traced to the Sanskrit word *Hutam* -the word hutam is mentioned in Bhagavad Gita 4.24, 9.16-17, 17.28 & used in the context of "offered, sacrifice. the act offering" -in the Agnihotri Yagna, when the offering is placed in the mouth of the fire, the smoke that comes out as a result is called hutam. It is meant to signify thanks to the devas or higher beings for all the wonderful gifts that we have been given & that we are offering a portion of it to Agni before we partake of it. -God appears to be a highly simplified & reductionist form of hutam

@@Dharmicaction Totally agreed. Conventional languages are highly functional and tend to be *object-specific* i.e. these languages have specific words for objects like nose, hand, eyes, foot etc. By contrast, Sanskrit can be said to be *object-oriented*, which means it creates a meta-model around each object that defines its properties, behaviors or states i.e. Sanskrit may have 100+ words for a single object. In the Sanskrit thesaurus *अमरकोशः*, there are 30 words for *जल*, 34 for *अग्नि* etc.

There are 1531 *Dhatu or Root words* in Sanskrit that can be combined to form words. All words in a sentence are derived from these root words. The meaning of Dhatus is fixed and hence their meaning is carried over to Sanskrit words created from Dhatus. All that is ever required in Sanskrit is this list of Dhatus and their meanings. By understanding the standardized rules of Sanskrit grammar, one can easily create an infinite number of new words in Sanskrit. The Dhatus are further organized into categories and sub-categories.

@@mathewjose4753 yes in sanskrit also braham means creator of our universe called brahmaand. As per Veda there exists infinite universe in the world and simultaneously infinite universe are being created and infinite universe are being destroyed. Each universe has a Brahma, a Vishnu and a Shankar discharging different responsibility. They holds a pivotal position in the Holy Trinity. While Lord Brahma plays the role of a Creator and Lord Vishnu plays the role of the Preserver, Lord Shiva, is essentially the Destroyer. Thus as Brahma has created all leaving being in this universe along with this nature he is refered as Father of all leaving being. It is also stated that the larger the universe the respective Brahma has more number of heads. As the lord Brahma of our universe has 4 heads. That's why he is called chaturanan, chatur means four, anan means mukh means face or complete heads. As Veda is the oldest scripture in of our universe it not impossible that the ancestors of Hebrew might have worshipped Brahma and than it gets diluted and diversified to other religion. But see the similarity in the spelling that it self indicate that the Abraham has been derived from the word Brahma. I have no doubt in it.
