I’ve read a book similar Basically, people would either give a heart sticker or a black sticker (or smt), the heart meaning that the person was kind, had a talent or they just liked them (people would give the person a heart If they had cool talents, they were pretty, popular, etc) or a black one is they were weird, mean, looked weird, etc One girl had no stickers, some people admired it and gave a heart and some people would think it’s weird and give a black sticker, but the girl didn’t care about the stickers so they peeled off. One day a man got mad at the girl and said they were weird she had none, so the stickers started to not peel off the more she got them. She didn’t want them so she went into a shop and a guy (Jesus, this is a Christian book) told her to keep coming and her stickers would peel. The more she talked to him, the more stickers peeled.

This reminds me of the story "the wemmicks" it's about a world of wooden people with many different characteristics. Every wooden person has a box of of stickers, they have two different types of stickers stars and dots. The wooden people walk around town distributing these stickers to people that they think deserve them. The people with characteristics they like the stars and the people that don't like get dots. At the end of the story you find out that the stickers only stick to you if you let them, not having the sticks be attached to you because of self love and the love of God.

The woodcarver (creator of the wimmicks, also alluding to woodworking profession like carpenter) Eli ( I assume it’s meant to mean Elohim maybe since it sounds kind of similar) let his creations choose. One goes to him when the world is saying he’s nothing special (gray dots) and Eli tells him the only opinion he should seek is his maker’s. As the wimmick leaves some of the burden (dots) fall off. It’s a whole allegory about seeking your creator and choosing to follow his will rather than looking for gold stars among those who don’t really have the right to decide your self worth.

I guess it's like a metaphor for people with negative emotions and reactions. It's realistic how negative actions from people can effect the reactions of others and make them feel negative, which is shown with the girl when people make fun of her, ignore her, scold her, etc. But the man (btw a stranger which is kind of weird) shows kindness and positivity, which also can make people feel positive. So the positive actions and reactions is what makes people have no cracks, or little to no worries and negative emotions,

The world is full of broken people, when someone comes along who is not broken by the crushing weight the world bears down upon others, they are shunned because they are not seen as having struggled like others have.
