They don't get judged, at least not in South Korea. I think it's pretty hard to dye. We had a boy who had the exact same thing in the same place. He wasn't made fun for it though. And there was a girl in the year above who had spots of albanisim all throughout her hair. So she looked like she was going grey like an aging woman, but she wasn't made fun of either. She poked fun more at herself I guess.

Actually not true. I was born with white/grey streak in my hair like this one but right on top of my head. I was also naturally blonde. People stopped my mom all the time to ask if my hair was dyed> some off handed remarks> etc. Sure some of it is positive. But the gawking is true all across the globe. I live in the polite part of America.

This mother is amazing for setting an example. Heaven forbid people associate such a unique trait with rudeness. Some people understand civility and do not lower themselves to creating a stereotype of a characteristic they are born to have. That should be true in every culture. Unfortunately, there are many who cry foul and create these stereotypes for others to latch onto without even understanding the consequence of their actions and taking responsibility for their own behaviours. It is irresponsible to teach rudeness to a child.

A decent mother can think of long term consequences of her actions over an immediate and inappropriate reaction of outrage.

@@juliafox52 you can defend and not be rude too. if you know how to do it. she can simply say to them, that she finds their comments not suitable for her child, and they should respectfully keep their opinions to themselves, and try to remove her child from this situation. but she chooses to do nothing but go to tv and complain. which i guess would bring awareness, but in the end the child still had and still has to go through these situations and defending her is also a temporary situation. because school will come and kids aren't nice either even more so than adults. why not better start to teach the child how to handle this situation little by little? as a parent i find that you always have to have future in mind.
