The World Loudest Whistle | Nitecore NSW10 Titanium Full Metal Whistle

In today's video I show you what may be the world loudest whistle, the Nitecore NSW10 full metal titanium whistle. This little guy weighs only 5 grams but is the loudest whistle I have ever personally owned.

This Nitecore whistle is great for games, outdoor activities such as hiking or camping, security and even law enforcement. Because it is made out of metal, this whistle is built to last and is easy to use. It also has a hole in the body for easy lanyard attachment, making it great for every day carry (EDC).
I tested the NSW10 at 150ft, 300ft and 450ft and was able to easily hear the loud noise from this whistle at those distances.

OMG 120 db? Really? I can do with my mouth 118 db without any gadget and 118 db without hand and with hands 135 db but i search 180 db gadget

That is by no means the world's loudest. That's the hyper whistle at 142 decibels. 2nd is storm whistle at 130. This one is only 120 decibels. Also, you can get 3 storm whistles for $20. The hyper can be heard at 2 miles away in right conditions.

Hyper and Storm are both way way bigger than this and their plastic. This fills a niche. Wear it hunting and forget you have it on till you need it. Or small enough to keychain it on your EDC.

Hyper whistle didn’t bear storm whistle in a test. Storm still reigns supreme on the decibel test - you just have to try it yourself

! wonder how the Hyper whistle would compare or the Vargo titanium whistle, or the storm whistle. Hyper whistle is said to be the best with 3 different frequencies.

Does not work underwater. I have had it in heavy rain here in Seattle and it works just fine

Sounded pretty wimpy to me. I can’t believe it’s very loud because the air chamber inside is so small. No matter what you do it’ll always be a small sound. Most CNC whistles are like that. They can’t mill in a bigger air chamber to to really rock the loudness. It may be a piercing whistle but I can’t believe it’ll ever be loud. They can do it in plastic and two piece metal whistles because the chamber can be as big as you want.

It's an impressive whistle for it's size. I usually don't like using it much as it hurts my ears and my dogs ears.

Maybe it is 100% titan but it has a weak part: the "cap" inserted by clamping is plastic. After about 2 years, I lost the cap. Probably the clamp failed. So be careful!

It might be loud but the pitch makes it barely noticeable at 300 feet. Better to go with a Fox 40 or Storm whistle with multiple pitches to them.

Thats fine of you have good high pitch hearing... however I couldn't hardly hear it. So if you have shot too many guns, been to too many concerts, or had a loud motorcycle over the years .... It's going to be hard to hear this whistle

I wear hearing protection for all those activities and more. Still have excellent hearing at 61. I can still hear above 16khz.

I have one. I don’t know why the sound pierces or so loud that I the one who blows the whistle will feel uncomfortable. It feels like the sound is traveling towards me.

Yeah, ok, sure. Its the world's loudest whistle. But under what conditions? You need to remember that these whistles are tested in what you would call perfect conditions. The testers are more than likely going to be in an open field somewhere out in the countryside where there is no obstructions or background noise, not standing in the middle of a suburban street where there are concrete structures and heavy traffic noise. Nor will they be standing right next to a 747 jumbo jet. And don't overlook the skill of the person blowing the whistle. There is more to blowing a whistle than just sticking it in your mouth and blowing it. It is an artform in itself. There is a right way and a wrong way to do it. An x referee told me how to use my metropolitan police whistle properly and I am getting much better results. However, I still haven't been able to achieve the 1 mile radius because I am not in perfect conditions. But, it is significantly louder by using the referees technique( use google- its called the sunflower technique). And also remember that everybody's hearing is different too.

Well bear in mind it was picked up by a microphone, compressed and then played through your speakers. Doesn't sounds as loud as in person. Just like a gun going off on a movie is not as loud as in person.
