This song reduces me to a ball of tears every time I hear it. I lived through the three assassinations in the '60s, and still consider the death of Bobby as the day hope died.

I remember when this was released, after RFK's assassination. I had volunteered to work for Bobby's campaign, and the first time when I heard this played, I just broke down and sobbed. At the time, who would have thought that a traditional rocker like Dion could make a song like this?

I shook Bobby’s hand after watching him speak at a university when he was running to be president. This song brings back such memories. The Baby Boomers have lived through these tragedies when we were so young. We were so traumatized by this.

Sarah, I was born in 1961 and while Abraham was obviously long gone, his actions still ring true and I didn't get much of John but he also left his legacy. But I was old enough to watch Martin and Bobby, and I still cry from the memories when these men were killed. We do need men like them again but unfortunately, the integrity of these men are not present to today's politics and what a breath of fresh air they would be. That is a great song, thanks for playing it!

I was so surprised when I found out it was Dion singing this beautiful song..hIs pop-idol days were over--he showed the music industry he was more than capable of putting out seriuos music. 4:54..If only today's politicians had an iota of the moral dignity and bravery these men had, the world would not be as messed up.

Oh my, I wasn't prepared for this one. I lived through the various stages of the civil rights mivements, and i always thought the prejudices and surpressions were tragic! It seems that contemporary music lacks the vital message content that was central during the 1960s and forward. Thank you Sarah, this was a landmark reaction and your emotion was genuine and touching ❤💖😇🥰

And if I remember right they were all shot by democrats, of Abraham Lincoln, for freeing the slaves, and other good things he did, that democrats then hated. Shot Martin for speaking against about segregation instead tried to unite the country once again since years then, and last but not least shot john Kennedy for being a president who cared for his country/ people. And now democrats are alot worse.

Actually it was four mentioned in the song. Bobbie Kennedy was assassinated as well. RFK Jr is now looking for running in the presidential election who is the son of Bobbie/Robert. The one and only sane Democrat left who I fear for him as well because he is exposing the very ones who assassinated his father, and uncle, which are mentioned here.
