1968 semi-documentary Australian television special featuring The Seekers. In watching one can immediately recognize this movie as the source of many KZfaq videos featuring The Seekers' music, although other sound tracks are frequently imposed over the original video. So here is a chance to enjoy both the original audio and video together in all their 4:3 splendor!

This is the one reason that now is in some ways better then then - back in the day (even in the 1980s when I was young) the only way to watch something like this was when it was broadcast - something most young people just will never be able to understand as its something they cant imagine. With everything available all the time nothing is quite as precious as it used to be.

I'm 81. My world is gone, and it was a hell of a good one. The Seekers were part of it. Maybe I'm just stuck in the past. Maybe there are good singing groups like The Seekers today, but my kids and grandkids can't find them. There was a kind of magic back then, the future was bright for everyone, even the ones who complain constantly today. Those days are gone. Too bad. For you.

I wonder how many of today's youth will want to come back to the 2000s & beyond, as we, of the late 60s & 70s long to be still living our free, carefree & uncluttered lives, even though we didn't have the wealth & technology of this day? The Seekers played such a huge role in bringing stability and happiness to our otherwise turbulent teen years. In my late 60s now and even though I have forgotten many trivial memories along the way ... I'll never forget the joy and stability you brought to those impressionable and uncertain years of my youth. RIP Judith Durham ♥

Voice of an angel for me lost now but we have her forever recorded. Taking her mother's maiden name that is the same as my mother's kind of gives me another link that wasn't needed to appreciate her bell like voice. My American son is in Australia and has a family/children that are native so that gives me gladly another connection I didn't make. I play banjo so I'm listening to that part now as I type : ) Thanks for the Bb clarinet school set that I could try and muck around and play along with. Australian as it gets!

This video is a new one for me. I'm happy that I found it. The music documentaries from this time period were done differently than they are today. I enjoyed the style, and I miss it. The music from the time period when The Seekers were most active in the USA are very special to me. It's served as a comfort to me over the decades. That's especially true of The Seekers themselves. And, of Judith Durham. That is, every so often, I'd drop in to check on one of my favorites, just to make sure they were still here. A few months ago, though, I discovered that Judith died last August. I know it must sound silly. But, just knowing that a certain person is still drawing breath somewhere in the world is reassuring. So, another chapter closes on yet another story. I'll certainly still watch The Seekers' videos. But, it's going to feel different than it did before. I draw some more comfort because fans all over the world showed their love for the group, year in and year out. "Life is what happens while you're making other plans". Amen.

I memorised this as a 6 year old in 1967. My Dad had a collection of their songs. There was a dance style then called "twist" that we used for it. Recently I collected videos of the Seekers and presented to my Mum as a souvenir and she was ecstatic. It was when I grew up that I came to know their name - SEEKERS! Those were the days when music was about SINGING, and lyrics, meaningful.

I was thirteen in a small construction town in Queensland called Gladstone where the worlds largest Alumina refinery had just been built . The company , QAL hired The Seekers to entertain everyone in town at the opening celebrations . They were the first group of musicians I had ever seen and they were far and away the best I have ever seen . I was spoiled for all the rest .

It captures a wonderful part of Australian history and 60s culture there, that's rarely shown. Australia was a paradise at this time in our history.

I was there at the Myer Music Bowl ( with 199,999 others) when the Seekers performed in 1966. It was a free concert. Almost One in Ten Melbournians turned up in that sea of faces. It was truly something else. So very sad to hear of Judith’s passing., along with Olivia Newton John in the same few days. A tragic double loss for Australia and the World.

I absolutely love The Seekers. They would have to be one of the greatest groups/talents of all time, on the same level as The Beatles. Gee...the 60s and 70s was such a golden area of talent, call it the analog era before electronics, digital and computerised crap. Musicians were just that, they had to play, sing, write and entertain. They had style, talent and soul. What will happen when all this comes to an end and they all pass on? No more Seekers, Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Beatles, ABBA, BeeGees, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, INXS, Dire Straits and dozens more I can't think of right now...singers, songwriters and musicians from all genres. As Don McLean sings...it's the "day the music died"

I remember this programme for two reasons both relating to Bruce, the first asking for paper so he could write the music he was humming and the boys giving him toilet paper then writing it on the table cloth. I got to see them on their Golden tour in Brighton 🇬🇧 they were great as ever

In the 1960s I finished high school and college. All the attention was given to rock and roll. It was certainly better rock and roll than today but my personal interest was in folk music. When the Seekers appeared on the horizon I was impressed. When I first realized how good Judith Durham was I was stunned. She could sing anything. And the men in the Seekers were the perfect blend. They sang beautiful 3 part harmony while Judith soared. The Seekers and the New Christy Minstrel’s are still my favorite all time groups. The only other female voice in my life time that compares to Judith’s is Linda Ronstadt. They are both national treasures.

I also enjoyed Cilla Black & Dusty Springfield for female singers of this timeframe. Also bought Petula Clark’s 45’s. I liked all genres except for most hard rock as they introduced them all back in the 1960’s. And between single singers, duos, groups, I luved many during this time frame. I liked Spanky & Our Gang as one of the last folksy type groups I remember to come out. Music soon started changing & radios promoted less & less as time went on. The 1960’s were my favorite.

Saw Linda Ronstadt show in Rochester NY, but couldn't stay for Jackson Browne segment- sorry I missed him, but Judith and Linda both have unique voices, and their concerts had beautiful singing! Kars Carpenter also: unique voice and talent. Miss Judith and Karen, rip, and hope you are better soon, Linda. I've been to Darwin Sydney, and Tucson, Arizona, all beautiful, as the music.
