Howdy ya’ll. Today we’re going to look through the oldest and rarest photographs of the 1939 World’s Fair in New York City. We will go through a cornucopia of information regarding the fair; and I will accompany the information in the current narrative with some information and photographs from the official 1939 World’s Fair Guide Book, which I was lucky enough to find and purchase locally at a farmers’ market.
The 1939 World’s Fair was the first ever World’s Exhibition which focused solely on the future, as opposed to the present or past. The 1939 Fair was known as “The World of Tomorrow”, and today we will go through each and every major aspect of the fair which stood out to me. Can you believe this fair was not fully electrified? We will go over this, and other distinct features and anomalies of the fair, today.
I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas regarding any of the information or photographs down below. As always, please like, share and subscribe for more Old World Videos, and check out my other videos with rare photographs from the unique World’s Fairs. Thank you all for 87K subscribers, Enjoy!

Thank you for this. My dad went to this fair. He was in first grade and it was the only time in his life that he ever missed a day of school. This made me smile to see this things he may have seen. I only wish I could have shown him this video before he passed. Every time I drive to the NY airports we pass by this site and the big sculpture of the globe is still there. I always think of my dad saying “ And that’s where the world’s Fair was “. Touched my heart. Thanks a million!

Great video! So we have to believe they converted a 1200 acre ash heap in 1935 into a pristine World’s Fair in 1939 (4 years) full of buildings that could be reused in the World’s Fair in the 1960s and some still are standing in Flushing meadows today. We also have to believe they dredged and created two man made lakes as well. The buildings of the 1939 fair are not nearly as elaborate as prior fairs but still seem beyond the reach of more modern fairs. Thank you for catching that the false claim that they could not illuminate the 1939 fair because electricity was new. Also, the 1939 fair just feels like a further reveal of already found technology to the public. Amazing!

Our world and our past are certainly more amazing than we are led to believe. Why it gets swept under the rug is anybody's guess, almost like a concerted effort to devolve society as a whole. However you find this footage, don't stop. I spent a lot of time with my grandpa growing up, he told lots of this stuff. He was born 1913 and lived exactly 101 years. Most forget that the past is the key to the future. We always need to remember.

Your video is chocked full of great images and information. The information in this video needs to be compared item by item with all the earlier worlds fairs. We live in Opposite world. Whoever and whenever buildings for the worlds fairs were built, they have lasted, unless bombed out and burned up in intense heat, while the 39 fair’s buildings and lighting could not come close to the splendor of the earlier fairs because they couldn’t. Most of the evidence like the ash piles wreak of earlier cataclysm

Just imagine how many fake art pieces were exhibited at this Fair. Still wondering whether the one I saw was real, or not. It came from one of the East Coast museums showing Native Americans in front of Manhattan. Far away behind there were not skyscrapers, but pretty high buildings about 40 floors. The trick was that that art piece was dated as of 17th century.

Proof that they Re-created The Empire. 11.22.1633 set sail on a mission to create a New World 11.22.1963 celebrate completing the mission after the world wars. We are the World came in 1985 and then they blasted off to CREATE the new universe. We are living in that new universal education program. You are enlightening people to how they did it!

That story was given to people by Jesuits on a mission to create a new world. They succeeded from 11.221633 - 11.22.1963 and then science fiction started to create the new UNIVERSE. Baltimore was illuminated in 1906 during a Jesuit Jubilee after a cigarette "accidentally" burned down the city. We have an "Accidental" bridge collapse right now..... BUT, Francis Scott Key still remains standing as Orpheus.

Must admit, I prefer the older World's Fairs, there was far more detail, put into Classic architecture. FYI: @31:35 The LMS locomotive was NOT 6220 "Coronation". It was infact 6229 "Duchess of Hamilton" which was renumbered and renamed for the visit. The LMS coaches had articulated bogies, if I remember correctly? LMS 6229 (BR 46229) "Duchess of Hamilton" has since been restored to it's streamlined status and is preserved at the National Railway Museum ("NRM") at York, in North East England. 46229 was it's British Railways identity from 1948, when the "Big 4" railway companies were merged under nationalisation. Many thanks, Jarid. All the best.

Expo67 in Montreal was very futuristic oriented too, my father took me to see it when I was at the impressionable age of 11. Besides being amazed by the technology exhibits each major country's exhibit showed-off (lasers were prominent), the city of Montreal impressed me too. I grew-up in the city of the fallen angels - Los Angeles, so the old architecture in Montreal seemed so old world - it looked like cities in Europe I'd seen glimpses of. When I got my first job working out of downtown Los Angeles a few years later I saw some old world looking architecture there too, and wondered why we couldn't build like that anymore, although most of those buildings were copies of the classic architecture - not originals. The Chicago World's Fair or "Columbia Exhibition" taught me that they could build in the old style very quickly, because that entire fair complex was in fact built at the time - not old world structures already there as many are claiming. The world's fair exhibitions have always fascinated me, thanks JB.

I was at Expo 67 in Montreal too! However I was 4 years old, but it made such an impression that I remember some things clearly. The immense "geodesic dome" by Buckminster Fuller was awesome! I remember seeing a bear, riding a unicycle while eating a purple ice cream cone! 😂😂😂

2:28: the guide book cover has a Freemason compass shape from the searchlights. 5:47 the layout of the World's Fair is like a baseball diamond, like Washington DC it's laid out in the shape of an inverted pentagram, including an obelisk 😑 It's cool to "see" these things now that may have been unnoticed by the general population at the time, yet terrifying too; the New World Order, even in 1939, was coming into shape through dark magic and symbolism.

The Jesuits traveled all over the world and is the reason that a Company from Massachusetts arrived in Baltimore to begin the 1861 Pratt Street Riot that kicked off the Civil War. Most important message in THEIR book is God told David NOT to build. 11.22.1633 there was a mission to create a new world - 11.22.1963 they accomplished that and the Science Fiction Society began CREATING the universe.

We as a society really should have a higher regard for our family members still alive today. They have been witness to the past with the passion you can never recover in a photo. Of witch I have many with no names dates or places. Just relatives friends times we probably will go to our grave never being abled to real-👀 ize. Go visit a elderly relative or just spend some time with a real historian while they are still here. 😢 They will have their own biases of course but that is valuable too. 🙏🦉

Jarid this is a fabulous find and you presented it so well. The music score at end really is so relaxing. You've mastered the art of the experience for viewers. We get the educational part in, then are taken on a journey via pictures and music. It never ceases to amaze me the turnout to the fairs even when economy is awful. I imagine getting the family to the fair, lodging and travel was a big feat for many fair goers. They all seem to deliver a message or narrative. This one sure set off consumerism. The introduction of technology and gadgets. It's interesting that the amusement area was a big hit, but of course it was it allowed people to have fun and feel exhilarated admist the turmoil they've experienced. That obelisk sure doesnt go unnoticed. Thank you Jarid for yet another fabulous dig and presentation. You've landed on an incredible find with this one💚

Appears the imposters just added some Americana sculptures , flags , and pretend landfill project to the building that existed before the 1900's ?

Don't forget scaffolding. Lots of scaffolding. Which always seems to be around a building that's 98% done.

One more observation. I can't stop looking at the Obelisk and the Sphere. It occured to me if you looked at it facing towards the bottom of the Pentagram it would appear as the numerals "01" - the year the Trade Towers were sacrificed...😑

I’m just in the beginning of this, and several statements I’m already in disagreement with. Now if your new to this country, or if you are 2nd or perhaps 3rd generation, you might go, all right, I see, that sounds reasonable, but, just as it is today, in the nineteen twenties, the city people suffered the most, but just as today, the people coming here from other places, are in large part city or city dependent peoples, and that was the reason for their escape from those countries, they had little ability to grow food. Of course, like today with 😢vaccines, for example, the bureaucrats poisoned the food source, having eugenics as a methodology, to rid the country of “undesirables”(a antiquated term, which however, consistently seems to identify a specific group, generally on the bottom). Look around, travel the World, or just the travel in the US. Look at the old pictured buildings, some buildings that they say were built in 1-2 years, with horse and cart? 12 foot glass windows, and framing with ornate motifs, from starving illiterate people, who generally only had a 2 Dimensional space time mentality, and 1-300 foot high building was generally something for the mountain folk, but they didn’t need to leave their homes much, because they generally could find food. So you have a horse drawn cart, carrying a 12 sheet of glass from where, first of all, was this glass created, and then you travel over a unpaved road(any of you ever tried that?), then hoisted, by block and tackle, thank god for sailing ships and clippers ships, and let’s not forget the old siege machines of war, to be put in place by block and tackle😂. Oh my goodness this narrative, which talks of one of how many World Fairs from basically he time of beginning photography, and I don’t mean to criticize your presentation in a bad way, I just find it entertaining to envision all of this going on. I suppose it is since I just have had a smidgen of information that wasn’t canned for the public, or got lucky to meet special people, that I’m no longer accepting the story I was taught in school and later backed up by all sorts of media, and most importantly, the uniformitarianism theory. So go ahead and follow your ideas, but just be sure to try and take a quick look behind the curtains, you know, like the “Wizard of Oz”, so you don’t get fooled, there are a multitude of carpetbaggers out there, and the worst part is, are they all non threatening?
