Japan ranks number one in the world for quality of powder, quantity and overall experience. Although it may not have the elevation of European, Canadian or American ski fields, it has GUARANTEE powder every year, without fail. Japan has resorts all over the country not just Hokkaido and they all have awesome snow. Also, thepeople are extremely nice, food sensational and last but not least, it's a hell of a lot cheaper. That's why I ski Japan every year, north and south.

Snowyphil...This is the best powder skiing in the world! There are several resorts that get 30-60' of powder every year. It's lake effect snow that comes off the ocean and dumps on them. More dry then Utah and twice as much. The problem it's in Japan, very far from Europe and North America. But this area has been ranked by all the big back country and powder skiers as the best. And yes I have skied it, absolutely insane powder.

Does snow in Hokkaido enter best 4 of the world?

All I saw was a bunch of rich gapers falling over the front of their skis just so they could say they went to Japan. They look like they should be sticking with the poconos in Pennsylvania.

I dont think you can call it the best powder skiing in the world, while theres no doubt that its good theres always better powder somewhere else in the world.

WB sucks. Would rather go to Revelstoke or anything east, going to Hokkaido this year.

Just got back two weeks ago from Hokkaido. Yeah, listen to NWS789, WB is way better, don't bother going to Hokkaido. Uh huh. It totally sucks, don't waste your money. Food is krap, service stinks, the transportation system is totally disorganized, snow absolutely horrible. I wonder why over 10 years I haven't been back to WB in about 4.
