Highland farmers in Austria used to sprinkle it on bread and add it to drinks. It stimulated hemoglobin formation, made it easier to breathe at high altitudes, and, according to them, prolonged life and protected from infectious diseases. Women also favored it to give their skin a "peaches and cream" complexion. Thinking it's some kind of a health booster?
But actually, we’re talking about… a potent poison.
Austrian peasants consumed a dose that would instantly kill an unprepared person! What was the secret to their survival?
There are countless poisons in the world, used for hunting, self-defense, medical purposes, and… murders. Sure thing, one must have extensive knowledge in chemistry and biology to apply poisons correctly. Today, we'll look at some of the deadliest, causing terrifying consequences. Stay tuned: we're about to discuss a substance that can literally destroy everything!
A drop of this toxin can kill everything there is.

Opossums are not a pest, they eat pests and dunt carry rabies, are sweet and should be left to do their thing.

A lady I worked with some years ago brought in some mushrooms to work. She offered some to me, when I declined she accused me of being scared. Twenty-four hours later, she and another employee were on their way to a casino when she had to pull over because she was feeling extremely awful. 20 minutes later, she was deceased. The other woman was so effected by this she ended up in the hospital and could not come back to work because it reminded her of her friend.

Arsenic was also used in taxidermy. Working at a museum we discovered this the hard way. This happened to a co-worker. He had to paint the inside of the arboretum which is on the same grounds as the museum. He was moving everything around in there including about two dozen taxidermied animals. We actually didn't understand why these animals were not being shown in the museum. No one bothered to let us know that there was a problem with them. Somebody must have had to have found out at some point and moved those animals out of the museum but they didn't bother telling any of us. After him spending about 80 hours of work my coworker started to get really sick. He had to be hospitalized, and that's when we found out. His doctors were quite surprised that he had a very high level of arsenic poisoning. They had to do a lot of digging into his life to pinpoint where the poisoning was coming from. He wound up being hospitalized for awhile, he was an older guy so it took a lot out of him; but he came back to work about 6 months later. Although he refused to work in the arboretum ever again, not that I blame him. Course I told him he's dumb for not suing. Honestly I think that's why they took him back because months later they went firing him (I don't remember what for) sometime later when I was getting fired I said to the owner there are two people that should have never be fired because the museum tried to kill us, me (It tried to kill me with carbon monoxide poisoning) and that guy.

Unfortunately, that’s a common occurrence when you are hurt at your workplace. They gaslight their employee with ridiculous accusations to justify a firing. He most definitely had grounds to sue them. Once an employee is a potential financial threat they will find fault with the victim.

Cynide doesn't smell or taste like almonds that we eat. We eat sweet almonds. Cyanide supposedly smells like bitter almonds, which do not smell like sweet almonds. In fact, the general consensus is that cyanide doesnt really smell like anything.

Robert Oppenheimer was not simply the "protagonist in a movie." He was an actual historical figure. Since most movies about real people are highly fictionalized and I have not seen "Oppenheimer" I can't vouch for the historical accuracy of the film. But it drives me bonkers whenever I hear a real person referred to as a character in such-and-such movie. Do we really have difficulty separating fact from fiction to that extent?

@@cen7ury You have to drink an unnatural amount of water to be "poisoned" by it. Fluoride (the form found in toothpaste) is incredibly toxic and does nothing for our teeth. You need to do some research on the history and the actual effects of fluoride.
