The World’s Only Traxxas TRX8

First run for a work in progress. All axles drive. Both front axles steer. Has electric locking diffs at all axles and maintains the two speed. I welded two trx6 chassis together to get the length needed. Lots of other custom work to get it running. I’ll finish it off in the European truck trials style with a full exo cage.

I was just watching a video of the trx6 when I suddenly realised this would be possible. Quick google search and here I am! Nice job!

Yup. A trailer and sort of finished it. But it will get a change soon. Most of the content for that rig is on my IG. Crawlersncustoms

Nice. I know of about 5 Traxxas trx8 style rigs in existence, so careful about "world's only"! its a big world.

When this was first built it was the only one I could find. I have seen a few more pop up since then. This video is pretty old now 🤛🏼

Its not the worlds only TRX8. I made a video of mine before yours. Since I didnt modify the front axles, its more of a true TRX8.

I posted this truck in the group "Axial & RC Rock Crawlers" on fb. There were another guy who had made a trx8 that were similar to yours, but yours have shorter wb between the steering axles in the front. He used the Axial Unimog 6x6 body as well. Did you use 1200kv or 1800kv FOC?

Oh, I didnt know it could run that slow. Looks like it works good. I use 1800kv AXE, it was on discount on black friday, so got a good deal and bought 2 just in case.

Take a 6x6 chassis and cut it just in front of the front shock tower. Take a 4x4 chassis and cut it just behind the front shock tower Cut about a 10.5cm section from the straight bit at the rear of the 4x4 chassis and weld it in between the 2 front shock towers. Then you need A rear axle link mount from 6x6, this goes between the front shock mounts in the bit you welded in. A 6x6 rear axle For the new front axle (you’ll need to narrow it on both ends and adapt it slightly to accept steering parts. The rest is just links, diff covers, drive shafts, servo mount ect. The whole job is done with traxxas parts from trx’s
