use an old school incandescent lightbulb. they get hot enough to blacken receipt paper (thermal activated ink) so it would 100% get hot enough to reveal lemon juice.

@@asher8085 Firefighters actually. H2O is after all 2 parts O, and oxygen is both a fuel source and part of the fire triangle. It actually becomes a huge issue when they fight fires in oxygen deprived environments, like was shown in the modern rogue barn fire episode

@SidtheKid actually, if i've seen someone put out a cigarette in gasoline. A guy i worked for a long time ago used to do it to freak people out. The liquid itself isn't that flammable as long as it's not hot and it's not aerosolized... the vapors are super flammable if you let it evaporate in an enclosed space so i wouldn't try it in your garage (honestly, i wouldn't recommend trying it at all), but it can be done

That was actually less repulsive than I thought it was going to be. Sir Mansfield Cumming (the founder of MI6 in the UK) advised male spies to write invisible correspondence using their semen, stating that "every man has his own stylo". Regardless of the medium though, it'll be a brave person who tries to cook cheese on toast at the MR HQ.

You could use those frixxion pens in reverse. You can erase them with heat, but if you put it in the freezer, the ink comes back.

Bottled lemon juice has typically already oxidized, giving it a different chemical structure. More citric acid, less ascorbic acid (vitamin C), etc, etc. Might be why it was so hard for you to get to work as I'd think heat and oxidation would be part of how this is supposed to work. If it's already oxidized...

You haven't read all the books about invisible ink then. Most of mine said a lighter or Bensen burner, one saying gas stove top. I've only read about an iron in one place, but in my experience a light bulb is by far the best.

@@asher8085 That's like saying you shouldn't wrap someone on fire in blankets because fabric can catch fire. Fire requires three elements to exist: Oxygen, Fuel, and Heat. Eliminate any single one of those and you no longer have a fire. There was no way for the paper to catch fire because there was no oxygen between two sheets of paper laying flat on a table.

I was once demostrated this when i was a child and the way my grampa revealed the hidden message was using a cloth iron, way easier, safer and efficient on that job (no risk of seting the paper of fire hahaha). Also, that was his way of teaching me a trick for that year's christmas, since he used to hide the gifts around the house and i had to go treasure hunting. Those were great days and i leave the suggestion, maybe you guys can have fun with josie doing this

There are special inks that glow under UV light. For example, I use Noodler's Blue Ghost ink in my fountain pen for taking notes in rental textbooks.

I do own one & I love it! I use it for everything. I keep it with me pretty much all the time. Like 9 out of 10 times that I’m actually wearing pants, I keep it on my hip on the side of my multitool case. Highly recommend picking one up today!

An old school NIB pen works the best Also try using a hot iron (without steam obviously) to reveal You can also refill a printer ink cartridge to print with lemon juice, that really works well just pour the juice through a coffee filter first

There are many inexpensive inks available that fluoresce under black light. Some are clear, but there are also tinted fluorescent tinted inks on the market.

Just iron it. People had coal irons way before commercial electricity. Did that as a kid with lemon juice. Worked perfectly.
