@@Cpt_FoxMox to give you a more detailed response, Checkpoint Charlie is well known for a time the US border guards basically poked the red bear a bit, it soon led to M48 Patton MBTs driving up to the checkpoint. The Soviet’s then responded with their own tanks, if one side would have poked the other just a bit more then shots might have been fired.
@wazzo8527

@@invadegreece9281 If remember correctly, the Pattons were sent in response to the Soviets breaking a rule regarding Americans crossing through the border (or something in that regard). The Commies responded in kind and both sides sat there loaded and aimed for 16 hours. After one side started to pull back (The Soviets I think), the other did as well. This was in 1961 and made for some very cool photos. They still have the sign and everything in a museum at the same spot. I highly recommend visiting if ever in Germany.

My IT teacher told me once, that we declare war on each other, not because we want resources or gain more power. We start fighting, because we scared of "them", and weapons "they" made.
@SturmischerGefreiter

Alas, he was wrong. Leaders declare war precisely because of resources, but they come up with a stupid excuse about other people's weapons and their difference from us. The system needs to be changed, otherwise we won't last long.

Man's desire of power and our selfishness breeds mistrust and fear. Which leads to hate and anger. In turn, the latter fuels war and suffering. Politicians and extremists add more fuel that breeds wars. "The military doesn't start wars, the politicians do." -William Westmoreland, General and Chief of Staff; US Army “Older men declare war. But it is the youth that must fight and die." -Herbert Hoover "There's no war to end all wars." -Haruki Murakami "Si vis pacem, para bellum. If you want peace; prepare for war." -Publius Flavius Vegetius Renatus, De Re Millitari. (4th or 5th Century AD) "As long as nations possess the power to do so; war is inevitable." - Albert Einstein

By far one of the best cinematics I’ve ever seen... The Pearl Harbor scene and how it was done alone captivated me. When I saw it it screamed WAR THUNDER. War Thunder in how we dream it to be, experiences like those are the reasons I love this game and the community. 11/10 and recommended to all of my friends!!!

My favorite part of this cinematic, was the Pearl Harbor segment at 1:39 and 1:46. Edit: I just cannot believe the sheer confidence and commitment to these videos, you guys are amazing whenever it comes to timing and positioning the vehicles in these mini films. My respects to you all out there.

This is how I imagined War Thunder being when I started in 2014. I so, so, so, so, so wish that's what it would be now. Let there be emotion, proper battles, something to fight for. Not an endless chore of "Rack up 14 kills against 20+ year ahead tanks this match if you want to have two fire extinguishers in your tank."

@@ryanfreeman5083 what do you mean “lolok” He has a point Gameplay is nothing like this, like Zeros on Pearl Harbor, a map that no longer exists in the rotation, in fact all pacific maps barely exist, with japan being placed with America most of the time against everyone else. Or F-4 vs MiG-21, a matchup that results in the F-4 being curbed most of the time. This game has lost much of it’s potential, or do you just automatically assume people who say lost potential are saying “lol game is shit haha”
