this performance was dedicated to their former teammate, who died from brain cancer. this was the song he used to perform with when doing the individual competitions. usually group gymnastics have teammates cheering them, clapping before/after each big feat, but for this they remained quiet for their said teammate. so moving and so beautiful!

This deserves to be an Olympic event more than that synchronized swimming foolishness.
@agel24357 жыл бұрын
gblan floor routine is part of the artistic gymnastics sport. they perform solos though. and synchronized swimming is not foolish. i can't even fathom how you think that way.
@gblan7 жыл бұрын
Agel Malassab I meant foolish as in silly. Are the competitors dedicated? Sure. Are they peak condition athletes? Absolutely. Is the actual event they compete in silly? Of course it is. I mean where do you draw the line? Just because you can make a particular thing "synchronized" doesn't mean it's automatically not ridiculous.
@agel24357 жыл бұрын
gblan it is silly if all you ever think of is, "why would you even dance in water?" but hey, that sport is beautiful in its own way.
@gblan7 жыл бұрын
Agel Malassab Agree. As a performance art, i.e. dancing on water, it is compelling. As a competitive olympic event not so much.

@reddragonready9 жыл бұрын
Senna Taylor It's not "dance". It's gymnastics.
@sennataylor5929 жыл бұрын
reddragonready Gymnastics can still be considered a form of dance. Dance isn't limited to things like ballet, jazz, etc. Check out Google's definition is you don't believe me. According to Google, dance is: (verb)- move rhythmically to music, typically following a set sequence of steps. (noun)- a series of movements that match the speed and rhythm of a piece of music.
@reddragonready9 жыл бұрын
Senna Taylor "sports such as gymnastics, figure skating and synchronized swimming are generally thought to incorporate dance." Go ahead, use "Google" to convince me synchronized swimming and figure skating are called dancing really. If you are confused still..the operative word is "incorporate".
@sennataylor5929 жыл бұрын
reddragonready I never specifically said they were dances. I said they *could be considered* form of dance. I'm a figure skater and ice dancer myself, having skated competitively for over eleven years now, and I don't consider figure skating to be a dance either, though I would agree that it does *incorporate* dance. (I'm also a dancer, having done ballet for thirteen years). Perhaps I should've been clearer with my wording for you? I never thought my comment could be taken so literally...

Sinbreaker Uh, the *point* of this performance is to be synchronized and look alike, so they're wearing the same uniform, same hair cut, and obviously very similar body sizes. Obviously they would look alike, any race of performers would.

Sinbreaker To the East Asians, Europeans all look alike to them. One Chinese lady was robbed and beaten badly and the police asked her to identify the suspect in a police line up. She said she couldn't because they are looked exactly alike - angular facial features, high and broad forehead, high-ridge sharp nose, pink skin, brown hair, double eye-lips, thin lips, high cheek bones, pointed chin and tall in stature.
