4:05 that is correct, the rumor was originally started by NewAgeServerAlarm, going off of the “See? Wood. Watch!” meme in the communit from like 11 or 12 years ago.

Those BG-10s are not only bad, but have an old age. The fire pull was introduced in 1983, and ended production in 1999 for the BG-12 series which is still produced today. It may sound like a modern alarm, but it’s vintage. I remember seeing them in a mental health clinic and an apartment complex in the past-now replaced with BG-12s. Then with the EST 270-SPOs: I grew up with them at my former YMCA, along with EST Integritys. The building underwent expansions in 2014, and ironically the 270-SPOs and Integritys got installed in the new expanded wing. The YMCA does have Fire-Lite BG-12s in some areas that replaced defective 270-SPOs. The Silent Knight SD-500s are in my current school, and no problematic history with them as of November 2021.

Well pull stations are supposed to sit on a wall for 6 months until pulled for a fire drill so if they work it doesn't matter.

When you got to the 270spo it reminded me of a fire drill I helped out with and recorded. 270spos and stopper IIIs do not mix well. The stupid cover kept blocking my flathead screwdriver while I tried to reset the station as I recorded it. I have the video if you wanna see it. (Just a warning the angle isn’t very good because i was fighting the pull station so i could get the screwdriver to fit.)

my elementary school actually had nothing but the BG8's for the pull stations hahaha. I prefer if a pull is made of all metal. They're just higher in quality. I was also a bit surprised to see the BG10 in this video but I completely get it once you explained. It is crispy when you pull though.. maybe a lil more so than a BG12? I'm new to this stuff so forgive me lol

The Ademco pull that fiber glass breaks kinda like a tamper thing

The MS-51 is actually a very Good design because it requires you to put in a lot of effort to pull it which Prevents Pranksters to activate the Alarm.

While only my middle school had 278B-1120 pull stations, every other school I attended had 270-SPO’s, and their age said it all.

Silent Knight has been doing really well since they switched to the BG-12.

I really like the bg-10 (i have one myself) but the siemens version like the MSI-10B (i have one of those) or the MSI-20B are better built

The bg 10 was shown in Astoria area elementary school in kindergarten cop with bells that mr. kimble hit with a wooden mallet to simulate a fire drill. It was so funny. Best thing about fire bells.

The least favorite pull station in my collection would be the FCI MS-2 - the key reset switch gets jammed too much and I already bent the Gamewell/FCI keys twice from doing that…

In my opinion the worst fire alarm ever made is the Edwards 274-111 pull station. It is a tab style pull station made out of an extremely brittle and glossy plastic, with a very stiff hinge that caused mine to break within the first few minutes of owning it. It requires a tool to reset, but I don't think the switch in mine latches properly, and it can be forced shut without much effort.

4:45, kind of reminds me of the pull station featured on The Big Bang Theory, but the devices were a Bell and a horn/strobe used as the building's Fire Alarm system, but it was a setup on one of many stages used in an actual studio

THEY ARE ALL GOOD

I like these pull stations with the exception of the Silent Knight SD-500PS and the Ademco 529. The SD-500-PSs look like a Walmart version of the BG8 or a BNG1R (both newer and older). If my dad’s school used SD devices instead of the SK devices they used I would hate the system even more (I don’t like the combination of Advances and these pull stations, I say it looks better with the 7002T,the Spectralert classic, or etc) Honestly the SD-500-PS should get discontinued and get replaced with a Silent Knight SK-PULL-DA with a Silent Knight SD module stuck inside the pull station. That has been done before with the Gamewell FCI MS95L (Apollo module inside a BG12). I will take all Ademco 529s and throw them into a volcano. The 270 SPOs can just get a better screw and it will be alright. The MS6 would be better if it was a FCI MS2 with out the flap. The Canadian life safety pull stations I don’t like that much or care. I respect your opinion on these pull stations.

Nice, but the top 3 worst pull stations in my opinion are 3. Apollo Call Point 2. Cebrus pulsation 1. Fire lite pulstation
