The sad part is that an Avatar game can actually be amazing if executed the right way. More in-depth animations, moving cutscenes, emphasis on different attack moves using different bending styles etc. It has potential to be an amazing game.

I mean, you can say that a game about literally *_anything_* could be "amazing if executed the right way"...because if it's executed the _'right way',_ it would always be a good game-- which this was not. They've made multiple games where the only thing you do is *literal chores & heavy labor,* and people absolutely love them.

@benjaminvanderhulst3249 The movies themselves aren't public domain, but there's some funky legal stuff about the character and locations. Warner Bros. is making Kong movies now, their iteration of Kong is definitely copyrighted, but you get all like comic books and cartoons about Kong that are "based on the novel" I believe (again, it's kind of funky, I don't quite understand it, but GameMill definitely didn't license King Kong from Universal or WB)

That one Korra game they don't sell anymor fulfills the "learning" part at least. You start out with no bending, because chi blockers, then remember the styles as it goes on, so long as you can do their little challenges

There actually was a decent ATLA game on PS2/Xbox/Wii back in the day. It was set like an RPG with each character having different skills to upgrade. It was very very simplified as far as rpg games go, but when I was a kid it was pretty cool to play.

Especially liked how the elements were treated and how true to the story the game stayed...and yes even with ps2 graphics it looked better than the previous 2 Avatar games that came before it... watching how Teyon start with awful Rambo, then redeem with Terminator to knock it out of the park with Robocop is inspiring while Gamemill get licenses by the lot and pull barely vanillaware with them via low budgets and short dev times so the devs take the L is to blowtorch the damn place down. PS2 Avatar games and Platinum games´s Korra are masterpieces next to this

Well GameMill is a publisher for one thing they don't make the games. They just hire other developers to do it for them. But yeah BamTeng made all of the Kart Raceers and Avatar. Kong was made by a different studio. As was Walking Dead. With All Star Brawl they actually decided to hire Ludosity who made the Ittle Dew series and more importantly Slap City. Teyon is a developer, though I guess for RoboCop and Terminator they had a patient publisher and the rights weren't running out (context: the license for Kong was going to run out for GameMill).

I got their Miraculous Ladybug game last Sunday for 10 bucks during steam sale. Average platforming and a bit wonky combat but the story was like something I'd expect from the show. Finished the story in about 4,5 hours so at least it got more gameplay than Modern Warfare 3s campaign For 10 bucks it was OK but don't pay more than this and especially not the full 50

I coincidentally just saw the last season or so of ATLA with my friend who was rewatching it once again. Such an incredible show with the most amazing worldbuilding that could be turned into a great game...and yet here we are. I am once again so grateful to have gotten the amazing Light game trilogy for Steven Universe. Actually great games, highly recommend. (Attack the Light, Save the Light, Unleash the Light)

Eh, I think OG is at least consistently mid and sticks to simple game ideas for kids/families. That's acceptable in my book. GameMill seems worse; this Avatar game is definitely trying to be more than it could possibly be with its budget and dev time, and it's not even trying to be something innovative - just a... vaguely Breath of the Wild like thing. AND it's for nostalgic older fans, too!

The company's name is literally "Game Mill". What did you think "Mill" meant? Rapid production, sensibilities be damned. Want an example? Puppy Mills. They illegally and unethically breed puppies for sale, without consideration of the parent dogs' health. The original Avatar game was an actually solid roguelite that played around with some non-canon ideas and was definitely more fun than this.

Yeah this is just about the quality of the other Gamemill games I’ve seen/played They made a Cartoon Network crossover fighting game and it sucks so much And they made a Miraculous Ladybug game that also has a skill tree and it is a glitchy terrible mess just like this Avatar game
