This is their 2nd best album, it has the best replay value of all the albums . You can listen to this no matter what age and still relate to it which can’t be said for most of their other albums.

This album sounds like way more of a direct continuation of the untitled album than Angels to me. The only real difference is the vocal style which I actually prefer for most songs I listen to this album more than any of their others

It's their best tied with Self titled and Enema. I love this album. Sounded like a natural progression from 2003. Everyone mentions the guitar on this album and the drumming obviously BUT. No one talks about Mark's bass tone on this album. It's so aggressive sounding. Like a hungry street dog.

I love this album, but I’m the opposite of you I guess. I like when they blend their side projects together. That’s just how their music has evolved ever since TOYPAJ. I’d like to see some consistency from you on that topic because you definitely didn’t criticize Tom for bringing the Box Car Racer sound to blink for the Untitled Album. Maybe you just don’t like AVA and that’s why you don’t like that sound in the Neighborhoods album? Blink’s sound has just evolved/matured at a perfect pace for me as I grew up. So, when this album came out I was a fully grown adult and this just sounded like a good adult version of blink 182 and I loved it. I respect your opinions though, music hits everyone differently.

Dogs eating dogs, looking forward to it, it was like a surprise gift as it suddenly was out back then. I was also dissappointed about Neighborhoods as it came out. Didn't care much about it, but still enjoyed some songs off it. I like the spontaneous way of listening and commenting about the songs 😊

I really like this album, there are exceptions with the track ''natives and heart's allgon'' which I simply can't listen to, but in general I like the sound, there are songs on this album that need to be heard more than twice for you to start liking it, But overall, I think it's a good album.

I stopped listening after Enema came out (I was 17). I felt like I grew up and Blink was ‘high school’ music. Then a few years ago I just randomly put this album on and was pleasantly surprised. Felt like they grew up and really liked it… then I immediately dropped off again after Tom left.

This dude started hating so much on this masterpiece that I absolutely had to stop watching this video. A true blink fan would actually appreciate this

On the Ghost sounding like new wave, to me, the instrumentals sound almost exactly like Mine All Mine by Van Halen.

I didn't like it when it first came out I didn't care for it very much. Years later I gave it another chance and now I think it's very underrated. Natives and Snake Charmer are both peak Blink imo

I just don't connect on all the reasons you hate this. The basis for your dislike just revolves around AVA. I just don't see that as a bad thing. I'm in camp - I thought Terrified was one of the best song on OMT - and a lot of that has to do with it being very BCR. I think that's a good thing! I feel like your criticism isn't based around "is this good music?" and just does it live up to your expectations.

Honestly I love the new blink record but...Neighborhoods,California,and even Nine had a more unified sound. I feel like one more time is disjointed, but I really love this record because I was 21 in 2013 and it was one of the best times of my life and this album was the soundtrack.

Neighborhoods is an okay album that would have been great if they cooked for a little longer - listen to it with DED songs added and it’s spectacular.

This album, like Nine, grew on me. I hated it at first, but it's really not that bad. Probably their worst album if I had to rank them, but still there are a few songs on it, like MH 4.18.2011 that I really enjoy.

I totally get the whole "too AVA-sounding" thing. It was my greatest stumbling block with coming to terms with this album. By all means, a fine work, and a step towards further maturity for Blink at the time. But it just wasn't them. I always saw it as a bit of Tom using Blink to work out some of his AVA b-sides before pissing off again. Mark's input was better, but still not great. I preferred his heavier +44 stuff. I also loved your reaction to 'Up All Night'. I was exactly the same: the intro, I actually liked quite a lot; the verses were really cool; but once the "get me straight" pre-chorurs came along, I was like, "Oh no, Tom, please not here ... ". Somehow, I never have gotten the hype over 'Even if She Falls'. It does nothing for me.

This album felt like Mark and Tom writing songs rather than a blink album

I think this album suffers from the context it was released in, because the songs are really good lyrically and musically. But the context hurts it badly. At that time, Tom was way too focused on produce everything himself, without relying on external producers and labels. So the sound felt that hit for sure. The recording is not great, and 2011's albums from other bands sound incredible, it shows. Also, I think this album wasn't on Tom's grand plans, because it came in the middle of Love Pt. 1 and 2, and he repeated some ideas from those two albums. Those AVA albums are some of the best compositions he's ever done, and that's because he gave them all the time the songs needed. Neighborhoods didn't have that treatment in my opinion. It was a somewhat rushed album and it shows. Tom was still wayyyy too much on the AVA mindset, he couldn't change the music because he produced every single song on both bands, and even for an amazing artist like him, it was just too much. Tom fortunately realized this and brought Ilan Rubin into the band to be his sidekick songwriter and producer, and AVA really was reborn, because the major AVA albums are outstanding. Mark hadn't recorded new music in years at that point, it shows. And his participation on this album is ok at best. The first SIX songs on the record almost don't feature him, you can barely hear him sing in 2 choruses, and even after Heart's All Gone, his participation goes down again. It seems like he maybe felt too overwhelmed by Tom's output. Mark's songs here are not that good. And on Travis's side, he was collaborating with every musician you can think of at that time. He was more of a collab musician than a band member. He went all in in this record, bringing a drum solo on almost every major song. His drums doesn't sound good, but as a drummer myself, I think some of his "drum riffs" here are very very good. All in all, it's a miracle that they made this album under those circumstances, and that it's THIS good. Because the songs are good. It actually shows that the three are great musicians. They just lacked the vision and the time to make it better. My top songs: -Ghost on the dance floor -Up All Night -M.H 4.18.2011 -Wishing well -Even if she falls

Hallo Marc, I completly agree with you on this one, I am not saying this album is their "worst" but it is deffinetly my least favorite, and music is something completly subjective after all. To me this album sounds like 80% AVA ft Mark and Travis and 20% +44 ft Tom. Too many unnecesary synths, not a lot of cool riffs, an attrocious amount of reverb on the guitars, not to mention Tom doing vibratto with his voice everytime he is allowed to... there are so many things on this album that just doesnt feel like blink.

Maybe you should not be eating in front of camera when filming videos for KZfaq 🙄

Nine is the worst album by far, you're crazy.

This album, imo, is straight up horse shit. I've REALLY tried to enjoy it over the years but I just can't vibe with it. Weak sonwriting and too much early AvA influence. There are only three songs (Up All Night, Kaleidoscope and Even If She Falls) that i like and it is the only album by the band where the first single is the best song on the whole album. Also the only album that leaves me genuinely upset after listning to it 😅

I like Neighborhoods but yeah, its definitely the weakest blink album due to them all writing and recording completely separately.

I really can't stand neighborhoods, and that is because it sounds way too much like AVA. The guitar tones, the guitar playing, singing, everything was AVA to me.. Not a fan at all sadly. Of course this is just my opinion. Now if this was an AVA album with Mark, It would be awesome.
