Coming back to this video, Baiwei sure have cleaned up their act since this. The QC issues seem to have been from a certain batch of the figure. There have been 3 revisions since then plus Nemesis and Magnus recolors. Quality seems to be very good now, especially now that Baiwei’s built up a reputation of good quality KO’s with their recent figures. I’m one of the comments at 0:50. And I’ve got the metallic repaint of this on the way to replace the one that broke on me. Update: Metallic version in hand now, and it feels *better* than my SS44. Joints feel nice, plastic feels firm and flexible and not brittle like the V1, and the metallic colors are pure eye candy. The front grille transformation is so smooth compared to SS32/44 that it feels illegal. Would highly recommend checking out the new revisions.

Glad my copy wasn't broken. But the die cast feet weighs down the legs which makes it fiddly.

Be careful when handling deluxe-voyager KO’S as they’re really fragile and something repetitive I’ve found is that the left arm snaps for some reason especially on Optimus ones. May I recommend LS03F?its 100$ with LEDS and much sturdier

I bought this figure and personally I absolutely love it. Mostly got it for the accessories though. Although I got the one with silver instead of the grey

Hasbro is re releasing the original Studio Series 44 in the Buzzworthy Bumblebee subline so you could get him if you want a version of this mold that doest suck

It feels like the KO company was given the exact same budget constraints as the original but failed to account for stability and mass production. This explains why some details feel more movie accurate but why excessive clear plastic was used instead

I thought Chefatron was exaggerating with fragility (I only need to say "pencil" and you'll understand why) plus the way he transforms the KO seemed like a gorilla was handling it

That’s crazy. My copy I got for 50 dollars with the weapon kit on Mercari and it’s literally almost perfect. The back canisters did break off but I honestly prefer it without them. Everything else is perfect

at least you got the dotm prime it's pretty accurate how he lost the arm in the movie

i got the original star leader which is a slight remould of the first studio series prime, it had a loose shoulder and arm kept popping off, luckily i was able to fix those

I two copies of the KO, both arrived without any damage and seem to transform fine. Plastic quality feels a little thinner than official. Die-cast feet are nice, I may try to put them on my official.

Mechazee do you test the bumblebee two holes thing for his weapon that you review the regular one and the police version

man seeing other people get these figure in the defective state, made me feel lucky when i bought this mine was ok nothing damage except for a peg on the pelvis being too big and screws being too loose or too tight

Alright, to shed some light on this, this is v1, it had massive QC issues and chest made out of clear plastic. It sucks, and even though it mostly looks good, it's good only for display. V2 and v3 are much better, actually go through some QC and are built of better plastic. I got v3 and it's pretty solid, I was so happy to actually own an SS32/44 Optimus Prime. Nothing broke yet. I believe Baiwei ain't bad at all. PrimeVsPrime recently reviewed their Ironhide, and I mean, it seems to a beast of a figure. Scalpers can go fuck themselves when there's a knockoff selling for less than $30.

i'm glad to have gotten the studio series premium finish optimus prime. while it may not be the SS32 mold, at least the quality is better and i had tons of fun with him.

may have a slightly accurate solution look for a bolt that is the same size as the plastic of the broken hand, remove the fracture mark that is still attached then heat the bolt of the same size earlier, stab it into the broken arm slowly and adjust its position and remember to use a bolt that is the same size as the that hinge

I have a bootleg SS05 optimus prime. it was great out of the box, you could barely tell it's a bootleg, but after some years most of the plastic has become yellow and it looks bad

Okay at 5:48 the panel isn't broken the same thing happens with ss32 and ss44 it's because the grey piece is held in place with friction nubs and they aren't really long enough for the holes

I mean, I could imagine like making my own copies of it just more detailed and have better paint and be a knock off, but I would try making a description of what it is about and try to put sketch mark as possible. I could also do it with soundwave as well just making it more G1 accurate so yeah

I got Baiwei repaint of this to Ultra Magnus and I have no problem with plaatic quality. Maybe baiwei makes "ultra magnus" white Star leader with blue flames from better plaatic than Optimus version.
