Tip number 3 is the best tip! Although it’s taken me a while to find “my swing”.. lessons are worth EVERY penny! Get lessons before you continue with bad habits.

Really love this content. Just need to find time and the right person to get some lessons from. I really want to drop some strokes these next couple of years. I would love to get down into single digit handicap.

"Peaking" is/has been a real problem for me and many others. Pro's can still make good contact without keeping the eye on the ball. #2 great drill/tip. #3 is spot on. Lessons from someone that knows what their talking about is huge.

Hi Matt thanks so much your advice is working, i am going to book some lessons this week at the Trafford Golf centre, just need some help with longer iron shots and how far away to stand from the golf ball.

I have to say that top shot at the beginning was a absolutely first rate. I couldnt produce that on demand to save my life (I can, needless to remark, produce them unbidden three or four times per round)

That topped shot was incredible!! Playing my first 18 hole course next weekend as I only play 9 hole courses for practice. Hopefully a better score because of better greens - wishme luck

My old man says "you stood up" constantly when we play. Or, "youre looking for it to soon". Drives me Fing insane! Lol! Gotta love him though. Im pretty sure he was alive when the you lifted your head advice was invented 😅

Great tips as usual matt, I've only had a few lessons, got on well with my pro, ended up caddying for him, he's moved away now, wish you was in Kent, I'd be booking in for a lesson with you, Lord knows I need it!! I filled in the form on your site a couple of weeks ago to get info on online lessons as in person isn't possible, haven't heard back from you yet??

Matt, I’ve watch you on KZfaq for a number of years, appearing with Peter Finch and Rick Shiels, entertaining but not, in my opinion, who you really are. Now, it looks like you’ve found your niche, not only that but your really good at it.The lessons are top notch and you look relaxed and confident plus your lessons have just enough of a difference to be informative and entertaining. Matt, I do best if I focus on the back of the ball and rotate my torso. If done smoothly I strike the ball clean and in get a good flight with a slight draw. Add the weight shift and it goes further. Attempts to hit harder results in hooks. It fly's further and hooks more. Why don't more instructions talk about focusing on the back of the ball?

Best thing I ever did was to go see my local PGA pro for lessons; I get at least one a year. Just noticed you are up over 90k subscribers; not long until you get into the 100k club! Cheers

I'm advising one of my mates to look at this. He's continually being told about his head coming up but I can't convince any of them that it's because of early extension. Hopefully it does the trick.

So how does this weight transfer fit with rotating rather than sliding into the ball. I've always felt if I move that much ill "get infont of it" and push everything right

I thought ball position should always be back from centre for iron shots - at what club do you switch to being ahead?

Is there any thing you can do to constantly keep your elbow from breaking at the downswing.(Practice wise) If I keep it straight at impact I'll have a good game, but it creeps in from time to time, my elbow breaks at the down swing. And it will take for ever to get rid of. It's my biggest on going battle. Any help?

I never give advice to my mates who aren’t experienced as me because I know how annoying it is. The only things I’ll ever say is you were aiming to the left/right if they are confused why it went a certain direction but never swing advice

Matt you missed a very valuable tip... lessons from a PGA Pro are the best thing you can do but the best tip I got from a pro was don’t go back on the course until you’ve hit 200 balls doing what he said. 200 balls at the range is cheaper than repeating the lesson and is far more effective.

Hi Matt, if you say to someone "you came out of your posture", they have no idea what you mean but when you say "you lifted you head" people understand exactly what they need to do to hit the ball better. It may not be the correct terminology, but I have played with may people and when I say you lifted your head they say thanks, then they focus, stay in posture and hit a better shot 8/10 times.

I’ve noticed old golfers love to give advice even when they haven’t taken a golf lesson in their life. Then when you try what they suggest you hit the ball even worse. And they always do it on the course. I’ve learned to stop listening to them and just listen to actual teaching pros instead.
