I've never played in a hockey league. I just played pick up hockey with friends. Never even owned any equipment, just skates and a stick. I remember going to the local outdoor rink when I was 22 and outplaying members of the women's college team. And this was in Ottawa, a canadian city of 1,000,000 people with only 2 major colleges. A pro male vs female hockey game would be a RIOT to watch!

An above average amateur male player who just plays on the weekend Is better than 99% female professional players. Not just speed and strength either. Technique , decisions , reaction.

So basically, the best of the best from all teams in that womens league. We beat them 19-0... Nobody celebrated after 2-0. It was literally like playing against babies. And these are people who have hopes of going pro. We were just lads who played for fun on the weekends, and it was pre-season so we weren't even taking it that seriously. We had good players, but they were a million miles away from being pro-level in the mens game. I almost felt bad but they talked shit until they were like 6-0 down lol. I was playing right-back and the girl I was marking (their left-winger) called me a tranny (Transsexual) because I had hair down to my shoulders lmao. Imagine the roles were reversed and I'd said something like that to her. Tbf this was in 2007, you could get away with stuff like that back then.
