Not sure if it’s an animation error or an audio error but I remember rewatching Ninjago and in the pilot and a few episodes of S1 some ninjas spoke with one of the others voice

8:19 this is not a mistake, this is an animation technique called used very commonly in Lego animations, especially with the Lego movies, it’s called a smear frame, and it became very common in newer seasons of ninjago. As an animator, we oftentimes add an extra arm for a single frame to give the movement a bit more impact

In S5 ep 8 when Morro is chasing jay, right before Jay says 'He's attacking an unarmed man!!!' you can see he has his aeroblade when they were supposed to have been left in rex.

At the beginning of “Never trust a human”, you can see Lloyd’s hair in the left of that shot. Except Lloyd wasn’t present at that moment, and was in the city with Zane and Nya.

8:19 that just looks like a smear frame. Smear frames get confused for animation errors all the time but they are intentional. Smear frames normally have duplicated or distorted body parts to show quicker movements in less frames.

Not everyone's perfect, even Disney has some animation errors. But man were these funny to look at.

The biggest mistakes I remember were when Cole’s voice would be recorded over the other ninja sometimes, examples: Kai in “Rise of the Snakes” Jay in “Wrong Place, Wrong Time” Zane in “Temple of Light” It’s honestly kinda funny

I swear I'm glad Zane's hand is in the way I don't want to see his face while he's bald

There are so many instances in season one where someone is speaking with the wrong voice (mainly Cole switching with Jay or Kai, vise versa)

not really a mistake but it always bothered me when titanium zane would put up his hood and it would swap from his eyes to the strange technovision thing

Bald, Bald, Bald! It’s very disturbing to know that they do have the stud thing on their heads under their hair

Animation errors really show how it's truly made. The fact that they modeled the little stub on the head, when no characters have that feature, it's pretty interesting. The fact that there are so many cases where they are wearing the wrong suit suggests that they have a repository of them at the ready. And Cole appearing in his deepstone shoulder pads at least twice (second case shown slightly 2 errors later) shows that the rigs they use for the suits always have shoulder pads.

Ah, the infamous wrong-suit-syndrom. Also wanna add that the arm-animation-mistakes is really setting me of edge

Now I'm having a hard time remembering, did Lloyd ever have an actual Green Kimono Suit in the show? I remember he never got one in the actual Lego sets. That figure instead came in a DK book some time later, just as Lloyd would get a Green DX suit in a Bricktober box set figure 4 pack.

Also in season 8 episode 10 ( last ep of sons of Garmadon ) when Lloyd is waking up you can see that his eyes color is changing from black to green and again black for some seconds.

There’s a few times in Rebooted where Lloyd appears to be wearing his stone armor suit before they get the armor in the temple of fortitude at the end, that’s another one that’s always bothered me.

One that I noticed that’s never in any of the videos is that in season 3 when Cole is walking down the sewer ladder his gloves disappear for a second and then come back

I don't know if this is a mistake, because it happens consistently for a couple episodes, but in some of the later episodes of Rebooted, you see Lloyd with the Stone Armour suit multiple times in a few episodes before they officially debuted.

Definitely a sneaky one but in the pilot season, episode 2 when the ninja are confronted by the skulkin army with Samukai aproaching them, if you look to the left of the screen after about two or three camera changes it seems the ninja ran right past him, Samukai is only shown for about a second or two. I think the Ninjago animators leave errors in sometimes as it’s almost secret hunting. Some are obvious while others aren’t, it’s fun findjng little errors as a pass-time

I remember when I was watching the episode where the ninja were fighting the snakes in the fire temple and Jay full on used wind

I remember when they used to have the wrong voices, It happened to everyone but it feels like they mixed up coles and kais voices the most. They did this in some of the most important moments too. Kai talks almost entirely in coles voice during the green ninja prophecy reading of ep 1. Kai says NINJAGOOO as cole in the temple of fire right before his true potential Cole speaks in kais voice in the very first scene of s1 ep 1 Cole speaks as kai in the scene where lloyd gets grown up and then theres also zane speaking as cole in the temple of light jay speaking as cole when he says "look pal were the guys who just saved the city from a giant snake"

Also, in Prime Empire, there is one scene, where Scott has no legs

Once in season 8, at the scene, where ninjas were chasing mr. E, Cole was there, even thought he was with Zane investigating the sons of garmadon. He even got kidnapped.

worst mistake in ninjago wasnt an animation error. It was making it take place super far in the future in season 3

In Season 8 Lloyd chanched often his eyecolor from szene to szene randomly.

Here are is a extra.... At the end of island, when nya was talking with dwayne, her shoulder pad wasnt there.

Honestly suit swapping is so weird like I want to know how that even happens.

Most of the costume errors actually make sense in canon. Do you throw out your old clothes whenever you get a new shirt? Wouldn't the the ninja have most of their old suits in their closest and pull them out whenever they're in a hurry. Maybe they weren't paying attention or maybe their new suits had blood or dirt on them.

While some mistakes are hard to notice, one mistake that is present a few times in the Ninjago series is when they do not move their mouths when they speak. This is noticeable in Season 2: Episode 8 The Day Ninjago Stood Still. In the scene where Dareth asks where the Destiny's Bounty is, Misako says "Look" while pointing at the bounty. However, her mouth does not move. The same error is present in the scene from Season 5: Episode & The Crooked Path where Wu asks Misako for a ride on his dragon. When he says "Care for a ride?", his mouth does not move. This is an example of a very noticeable mistake to those who watch Ninjago for a long time.

My favourite mistake is Jay the Master of Wind.

There's also many voicing errors where you hear the voice of one character but then on screen a different character is appeto be talking and its weird especially in the pilot

I thought that when they had the wrong suit, it was intentional, but apparently not

That one with Lloyd having the zx suit instead of the kimono suit I thought he just never got a new suit when I first seen it

The most common mistakes of LEGO Ninjago could be their voices mixing up, which also happens in LEGO Friends.

There is another mistake in Possession. When the ninja are in the maze in the FSM's tomb, Jay is seen with his aeroblade on his back for a shot while being chased by Morro even though they left them in R.E.X..

The one I really noticed was in Seabound when Kalmaar shot Master Wu, he was supposed to be on the ground but as it swipes over you can see him fighting a serpent, then it goes to Kai(?) picking him up 🤨

In the very first episode of season one when Cole tells master Wu :we can train tomorrow you can clearly hear Vincent Tong saying the line it’s kinda similar to in season two were Jay tells Darith look pal we’re the guys who just took down that giant snake.

Great, now I'm gonna see these whenever I rewatch Ninjago lol

Also with Lloyd wearing the wrong suit, it cuts away after that and then cuts back to him and he’s still wearing the wrong suit which makes it probably the worst mistake

This isn't exactly an animation error, and I don't remember the exact episodes or seasons, but there were SEVERAL TIMES I noticed that the wrong voice actor voiced a certain characters lines, i.e. Cole's voice actor saying Jay's lines with Jay being animated to speak.

Tanner, there is one mistake I remember in Prime Empire when Lloyd got into the wheel, his shoulder pads disappeared. When he popped out of the wheel all dizzy his shoulder pads somehow reappeared.

I did not know all of this when I was younger!

Man I remember back in 2015 when I was trying to spot every instance ghost cole was seen with pauldrons

Decided to rewatch the whole ninjago series in my 20s because as a kid I only got to see the first 2 and half season because it was on TV only every saturday and it felt like I saw a lot more than I really did since there is 16 seasons of the original and I totally forgot about all these mistakes and I thought they would stop doing these but as it seems its now a base feature of the series - funfact is that mistakes like using different voice actor got transfered into another language too. It was really weird when some characters suddenly spoke in totally different voice even in the re-dubbed version.

I found a small animation mistake on season 8 episode 10 at the part where Lloyd wakes up his eyes are black for the first bit but then the next part they are green even though he doesn’t have his powers and this mistake always bothered me for some reason

all of these mistakes slipped by me every time I watched these episodes

It does make sense that Cole has deep stone armor as a ghost because morrow demonstrated in the last episodes of season 5 that ghosts can possess another ghost

There were several line mix ups of the characters, I’m rewatching it currently and have already found like 10-15ish mistakes and I’m only barely halfway thru season 2

Yes, in the final battle in Season 5, alot of the ghosts just clip out in a single frame instead of their water burst animation.

FUN FACT: JAY HAVING WIND POWER IS NOT A MISTAKE, THAT WAS INTENTIONAL AND IT SAYS SO IN SOME OF THE NINJAGO COMICS. HOWEVER, DUE TO WANTING MORRO TO HAVE WIND POWER, THEY TOOK WIND AWAY FROM JAY.

In season 4 where the cultists turned into fake anacondrai you can see this other member having the colour pattern of the real anacondrai

so, we can definitively answer that yes, Ninjago characters do actually have the stud.

i'd say by far the biggest animation mistake they've ever made was giving lloyd the wrong suit for half the goddamn season i mean srsly how do you mess up THAT bad?

I noticed in the one where you talked about coles armor as a ghost the panda had a messed up eye

I love how so many of these mistakes are things that would occur if they had been doing it in real life with a kid's collection, coming back every day to continue animating but the kid played with them so a piece is missing or got swapped. :P

My fav mess ups in Ninjago are when the Ninja switch voices. Like I think there’s an episode where Kai says something but Cole’s voice says it

You also forgot in season 6 when Lloyd’s hair disappears when he wearing the Fedora.

What about when when lloyd becomes older inside the comic store he has shoulder pads but when he gets out he doesnt have them anymore

4:21 That's the one I always noticed as a kid because it's not subtle at all It's easy to miss the ninja changing from their s1 suits to the pilot suits, but that was noticeable to me right away

Some of these mistakes are just so simple and in the background or only last for like a second

7:49 I’d say this one definitely takes the cake for being the most embarrassing in this video because in that scene Kai legit is having a heart to heart with a dragon and then his suit is just there and it wrecks the whole scene, like even I noticed this as I watched it the first time so ya it just wasn’t good, another mistake I wish was mentioned was the one (more like 3) when it was the time of Rebooted and Lloyd legit wore his Stone Armour 3 episodes before (and during the entirety of those episodes) they even got there Stone Armour gi outfits and that would be just the worst cause it’s soo noticeable that it shows for even the thumbnail of the episodes on Netflix (Canada) 🥲 (Also Lol I am at school watching this during lunch 😂)
