I remember that DC-3 belly landing (it was actually a Super DC-3), it was last December at Merrill Field. It suffered an engine failure during the initial climb out of Anchorage Int'l and for some reason couldn't hold the altitude (supposedly being too heavy), so the pilots sat 'er down at Merrill. If they had had their gear down, they would have clipped another plane that was parked at the field
