Here's an argument for considering the poison mushroom a powerup in The Lost Levels: Only one powerup can be on the screen at any time in the game, and if there is already one, and you spawn a poison mushroom, the other one despawns (and vice versa). The game's code treats it as a powerup. Also, in Sunshine the nozzles and Yoshi are the pwerups.

Should have mentioned 64 DS’ additional power ups the Super Mushroom, P Balloon Mario, and Fire Yoshi. The Vanish Cap is still the worst, but mentioning these three would’ve been nice. Super Mushroom is my second fav powerup in the game behind Wing Mario, but Fire Yoshi and P Balloon are about as situational as Vanish Cap, it’s just that spitting fire and skipping an entire bowser level w the balloon is way cooler than walking thru walls.

Actually the worst powerup in 3d World is also the Mushroom. Because of the same reasons for Bowser's Fury and 3d Land. And also it just gives you 1 extra hp which almost every powerup in the seires does. And I'm so annoyed that if you take damage, it gives you a useless Mushroom instead of something else that does the same thing but also gives you more. That's why the Mushroom is the worst powerup in every Mario game. Well, exept maybe in Mario Kart.

If you ask me the worst power-up EVER is the Ice Flower cuz it doesn't insta-kill, YOU have to get to the enemy you just truned into ice, then press some buttons next to the frozen enemy and then throw the enemy, BUT IF YOU DON'T DO IT IN TIME THE ENEMY GETS OUT OF THE ICE

Probably, with the exception of Bowser Fury, the star is worse than the mushroom First of all, the mushroom unlocks all of the power ups, there is a few exceptions like toad houses but those exceptions are rare. Only for this is really good but, the star have the same problem that the mega mushroom but worse because at least you can storage mega mushrooms and the mega mushroom makes it really easy to cross gaps (it's also faster) Finally, the star let you exposed after use it while the mushroom is eternal, common and gives you invencinility frames after use it

In the new super Mario bros games I would say is definitely the mini mushroom
