The thing that makes the recruit rework so sad is that this is the second one. Two primary and secondary guns and some gadgets is all they added. In a game that has over 20+ guns in each slot.

This season has been awful for me. The lack of content doesn’t bother me too much. It’s been how buggy the game has been. Half my matches this season has had the chat bug where no one can hear each other on voice chat, text chat doesn’t work half the time. I’ve gotten the audio bug a few times now where the game is silent for hopefully just the round, if not the rest of the match. Game has had some crashes, but takes forever to reload so you get an abandon section if it crashes half way thru a match. All that and it’s not even accounting for the cheating. It gets very frustrating to play the game when you have maybe 2-5 hours a week to play. I really hope they’ve been cooking an engine upgrade/rewrite similar to CS2. I think that’s the only way it’ll fix the game and allow it to hit 100 ops.

They keep making horrible nerfs, rarely ever buff, made quick play bad (qb 2.0), made unranked bad (standard) and made ranked bad (ranked 2.0). It legit feels like they've been systematically destroying the game on purpose. They take away and never bring back all the fun spots and modes we like (OG outbreak or OG Mute protocol) and now are drip feeding us content. A season without an operator is insane, and to think we aren't getting one next in S4 either is actually wild. This game will never hit 100 operators only getting 2 ops a year, it will die out long before that.

Yeah the Solis nerf was just horrible, i understand somthing had to be done, maybe take away her impacts or nerf her gadget a bit but they took it way too far with everything they did she's borderline useless now and they're talking about nerfing her more next season as well that's crazy. Immediately reminds me of Nokk and how nobody uses her anymore after Silent Step was removed and now Ubisoft keeps saying "wE dOnT kNoE wHy NoBoDy PlAys KnOkK nOw"

I swear this season the bugs have been skyrocketing for me, the no sound bug, the constant lmg fire in the corner of site bug, text chat not registering bug its extremely frustrating

The sad part is that Deadly Omen brought me back after 4 years I ragequit in Void Edge (Y3 Operation Chimera player here). Could've kept the momentum going, like how Myths and Mortals season in Fortnite got me addicted to that game as I'm a HUGE sucker for Greek Mythology and despite this season not being as good (lacklustre characters, bosses + weapons are meh), I had a BLAST with the Metallica content! Alas, - New Blood more like New Bugs. I don't mind chat being bugged as it was more often than not a source of salt or weird/disgusting comments, but one bug that really annoys me is melee suddenly refusing to work sometimes so I have to shoot open the door. BRUH - matchmaking still blows (last season I had my Copper ass vs Plats in ranked :/ in casual I had a champion vs me, my best in rank 1.0 was Silver 1) - players still toxic sore winner/loser assholes instead of take their W with grace if they decisively stomp you or at least say "nice try" if the last teammate tried their best + failed to clutch it. Or just toxicity in general, one of my recordings had 2-3 of my teammates being utterly racist to each other in voice chat. Maybe they were friends fucking around or some kind of social experiment prank as well as actual hatred, but either way I was like "WOW this game isn't for the faint for heart LMAO" - the battle pass lore is rly boring compared to last season's, last season I got a smile from reading Zero's "Thanks for the save kid. Come to training sometime" comment on Rook's BP skin - the story itself feels like it's at a dead end, maybe like an inbetween before something big happens. I hope so, the same way Deimos shook up the Siege storyline... - this season's skins are very uninspired compared to Deadly Omen's (both BP and seasonal skins), Outbreak's and Containment's which I still main to this day. To name a few favourites, IQ Containment skin, Rook Deadly Omen BP skin, Lion's BP skin, Mira's BP skin, Deadly Omen seasonal in general I just run it on HIbana, Kapkan or any op I like running really. The black + red looks SOOOOOOOO GOOD imho :D - memberSHIT system I could tolerate if the game was in a good state but it's not. It just feels like greed so HR + managers can retire early while the rest of the development team have to pick up the pieces of an angry/heartbroken fanbase who cared so much for Siege and maybe find other jobs if Siege/Ubi goes out of commission - unlike Fortnite there is NO place to go if you wanna remain in the Siege universe but relax, like STW, Lego or Festival Main/Jam. I miss Outbreak, I miss T Hunt and doing stupid challenges like solo realistic elimination with Ash/Lion/Finka just to prove I can 😂as well as popping terrorists in the head over and over again in general. Other than say shooting range with Sam's voicelines + training modes there's no compelling single player component to compel me to stay, I just do my weeklies + piss off to other games tbh :/ Honestly I said to myself internally that this is gonna be my last fuckin' season unless they seriously get their act together. I'm so close to getting 100% achievements, just gotta finish off 25 claymore, grenade + nitro kills as well as get my 300 ranked games + 15 squad wins before I delete this trash FOREVER!!!!! Icing on the cake would be getting Plat rank one season just to prove I CAN do it but if not oh well. It also doesn't help that the cheater problem kills my desire to improve at the game, why bother suffering through all those ranked games just to enter the cheaters' jurisdiction, not the playerbase's jurisdiction hmm? Not saying champ is impossible, Jynxzi and his boys pushed for it successfully this season but definitely way harder than it needs to be for the wrong reasons (cheaters and the odd hit reg/controller deadzone glitch/bugs in general) It's just too much man, seriously. Our time on this Earth is finite, not infinite and other games, other interests, other hobbies old or new exist during this finite period. Knowing me I'd probably go to some single player or MMO game to enjoy myself hoping that it's free of developer + community stupidity in any shape or form. Or stick to the classics. I'll find a way, trust me. The reason why nobody believes Ubisoft about them fixing the anti cheat is because T6 is BY FAR the worst game with cheaters on PC. Every game on PC is dealing with up tick of cheaters but R6 anti cheat is horrible, watching Vasity they don't even do basic stat bans which is insane.

Honestly, the nerf for solis/fenrir affected them the complete opposite ways I expected. I thought fenrir was too harsh, and the Solis was probably gonna be still very much viable. Turns out it was the other way around. I still bully people with Fenrir, but I NEVER see anyone using Solis, ever. Haven't seen her once this season, and I've probably played about 50 games or so already lol

Getting serious whiplash going from those sponsored G videos talking about how cool the new season was and other such PR whatnot only for G to instead bounce to this, telling the truth about how rough things truly are. Props to them for speaking up about how it really is but it hurts a little bit after those sponsors at such a disastrous time in R6's History. They've gotta eat though and YT's a rough ecosystem so I don't hold it against them. Glad to be back on the same page with G! o7

Been playing this game for years and this season is one of the only seasons where I genuinely felt like permanently dropping the game. I got close but I haven’t, I want the game to succeed but Ubisoft truly has shown time and time again they have no idea what direction they want to take this game and Siege just feels like a shell of its former self now. More content but more hollow at the same time…

Mousetrap does t really work on console either, so every game there are at least 2 MnK sweats just slamming everyone with Ash/Twitch/Doc/Melusi

I haven't played siege in about 2 years, but it was the first game me and my friends tried to actually rank up in. It had it's quirks, but it was a ton of fun for the most part. Hopefully they pull back next season. Also kept watching your vids despite that, they have a nice flow, lol.

I've seen so many people get in a gunfight, see bloodsplatter and then when they're killed zero hits have registered - I've had it and I assumed it was lag but I've not seen it so often on a season and never had other teammates talking about it across almost every lobby I'm in (console)

The sound engine has never been so bad. It’s actually disgusting and ads times are just a joke.

Honestly the 5 nerfs they gave solis was a little harsh but I’ve been playing her for awhile and she’s still fine. Also the recruits were “remastered” and I’m happy to finally see em in ranked because it’s all I play so for me personally it’s kinda new, both ops are good too so I’m not really disappointed.

What irks me so much ist the gap between operation health and this one. In health they announced cut and clear that they needed time thank you see you in three months. This time they just lied a bit, and make it seem like a full season

This season sucks cause I can’t play it, I’ve been paying for a while and it never loads me in, I know I took a break but match making should at least load me in to players my skill level even though I haven’t played, this game doesn’t give an incentive to play anymore either, it’s just sad

I have had zero games ruined by cheaters, yet DOZENS ruined by gamebreaking bugs like not being able to use my weapon or just straight up having a teammate not connect 1 out 10 games

I think New Blood also signals the anticipated injection of new players. There is already so much to learn for actual brand new/returning players, they could view this as a point to stall the META a little for the new people to catch up. Or I'm just giving Ubisoft too much credit.

I genuinely think siege just needs to start from square one again. Make a new game, cut bad and redundant operators, and get it on a game engine that isn't over a decade old that doesn't struggle with sound in a destructable environment. Siege's issues over the years have constantly stemmed from its engine. Something like unreal 5 would both look great and run great, as Unreal 5 in particular is very good at simulating realistic, dynamic environments. Not only is its destruction physics leagues ahead of siege, its sound system is also able to generate noise based off of the physics of an object rather than siege devs having to create a specific sound for every surface type. I remember during the earlier development of siege, the devs talking about the struggles of developing destructability in the Anvil engine. The way the game is programmed, it does not simulate the whole environment in real time, but only specific phys objects. Because of this, each interaction a phys object has with a rigid body needs to be pre-programmed, rather than emerging naturally. This is why the majority of gameplay bugs occur, and why it took multiple operation healths to address them. Say for example a drone interacting with a glass object. The glass object is a rigid body, meaning it requires code specifically for its destruction. This is done typically as "if drone speed = glass break speed threshold, break glass" while an entirely simulated version of this would just be "set glass strength" to whatever number. With this, someone doesnt need to program every single objects interaction with said glass, as any object moving with sufficient speed will cause the glass to break, whether it be a drone, bullet, grenade or a knife animation. The only thing the developer would need to program is the properties of the object, and the engine would handle the rest. Environmental destruction gives sound difficulty as destructable surfaces in siege are rigid body objects. Every interaction a destructable wall has has to be preprogrammed, whether it be a breach charge, shotgun, impact, etc. This is why they break in consistent patterns and why you can have weird hanging shapes sometime that would be physically impossible. This is also why sometimes walls may appear to be breached but you wont be able to run through them, as a rigid body may visually update but their properties of a wall may not. This is likely also where the various sound bugs may emerge, though not limited to this. I believe siege is executing a great idea on the absolute wrong choice of engine. This is most likely why it seems to be a developmental hell for small changes, as any small tweaks to the code may result in a cascade of new bugs. In a real time simulated engine, any small tweaks to an objects properties would be just a small tweak, and very rarely result in new bugs. Siege is one of the clearest examples of a game ahead of its time. If it were not for Siege's engine, I believe the 2 operator schedule would of stayed on track rather than more and more of the team having to deal with the ballooning complexity with each new added operator.

i dont really play siege but as an FPS addict i can get the problems, some games i recommend if you want to try something new just for a change of pace, trepang2, insurgency sandstorm, squad, ghost recon wildlands (i think it was on sale for $5 idk if it still is), the OG dishonored game is a great refresher too though it isnt an FPS

as an avid Dead By Daylight enjoyer, I find the mid season updates super refreshing. I think Ubisoft should definitely look into splitting up nerfs from the new content to alleviate this feeling of power creeping

I don’t understand why Gregor takes it so easy on Ubisoft. They release NO new substantial content. They objectively make recruit worse and less enjoyable to play (which he doesn’t even mention) and massive NERF two operators and disguise it as content. Even downplaying how fucking vile the membership system is, not criticizing it for being an objectively money hungry tactic to suck up more cash and time from a desperately resource poor game. But that it was packaged wrong and the audience would’ve just gotten over it had it be released properly. Why are you doing this man, like defending the frost rework or complementing how well put together the trailer was. Like why? Who are you sugarcoating this for? This is an appalling season that is so devoid of content the numbers are at an all time low. Just say it.

I tried Xdefiant and a teammate said for me to uninstall the game because I was "costing them the game" where I kept feeding. Cry me a river boy, this game's free and I'm playing the objective which was *PUSH THE DOG.* Not to mention I have a *SLOW* laptop which is about 4 to 5 years old.

As a former Siege player, this is like watching Operation Health happen all over again lmao

Played thousands of hours in R6-3, then spent thousands of hours in RS vegas 1 & 2. Was excited for patriots and was very disappointed with the direction they pivoted to. Have just this last week been in the mind set I wanted to play R6 again and with no ability to play the older titles ( R6-3 specifically cause that is still IMO the best the series has ever been ) I thought I'd finally try Siege. Glad to see my opinion of Ubi is still justified sad to see what they've done to one of my favorite series ever...guess I'll keep trying to get into Siege just to scratch that R6 itch maybe.

For me I'm not even mad about the changes, I'm just burnt out. I'm burnt out because I work 40 hours a week and can't devote the same amount of time to the game the sweats can, and I won't cheat like the cheaters can- so I'm just stuck at gold. The game is toxic still, there's nothing "new" to draw me back in, my friends are playing other things, it just all feels burnt out.

Recruit was a nickname my old group used to call me and the character i used to love playing all the time (Grew on me so much i had all my other accounts use RECRUIT as my main nickname, except youtube, this is a burner account) The first rework made me stop playing after some months of being limited in terms of armor and weapons, ALSO NO SHIELDS this second rework does nothing to bring me back my boy recruit...

Ive never seen hype die so fast for this game. The last season really had some momentum going and then it just hit a wall with this season. And to top it all off, as a console player i cant play 3 matches without 2 of them being filled with cheaters and MnK players

On top of all the Solid nerfs you mentioned you forgot they also made her ability take longer to recharge and made it burn out faster when using it.

I could have stuck with the game if it weren't for the awful gunplay changes. The ADS speed has to be the slowest in modern FPS titles. The recoil is so excessive that I run out of mousepad space 20 rounds into my spray. The fact that the recoil breaks your viewmodel depending on the angle you are looking at while shooting, is ridiculous. I reinstalled the game to try out the new season, and uninstalled after 3 games solely because of how awful the guns felt.

I hope we get Siege 2 or an engine update marketed as a 2.0 product, Siege is too old for it's own good

I think a new content creator that gets huge like Jynxzi is needed and should try to push changes with Ubisoft to improve R6 so it can be saved. I have faith that this game can be saved...but only if Ubisoft is willing to listen. However, we have to remember they are a business and they want ever growing profits.

I've never understood the constant craving for new content. In R6S it feels like "Content" doesn't actually mean anything interesting to me anyway: why do I care if a new operator has a *new variant of 5.56 pew pew machine*, I can barely comfortably equip and run half the guns in the game as is. I've played the game for...1500 hours? It's not a solid critique or push-back on my part, I've just always found it odd that the first thing everyone mentions is "we aren't getting new guns". Guns are so damn boring in the game anyway, who cares. Give me interesting game modes. Give me game health and quality of life. R6S is a monumentally challenging game to get into, and I doubt even 1% of it's players feel like they're "up to speed" with its content.
