A secret war is being waged. Hidden in plain sight, there’s a constant game of cat and mouse between council enforcers and illegal hotdog merchants.
As well as the obvious dangers of undercooked, unsanitary poor quality meat, there is also the matter of unlicensed, unregistered workers, carting about unsecured and potentially unsafe gas canisters next to open flames.
The extraordinary lengths both sides go to outsmart and outwit the other will shock and surprise you. Just like how the food is actually prepared. But why do they taste so good? The secret ingredient of course… is crime.

Thats what happens when a country solves many of the problems that plague lesser ranked countries on the best countries indexes. You get the government spending money on petty crimes when a majority of their other crimes diminish, due to socio-economic reasons or gentrification of areas, bringing people up to a certain standard of living.

so a high traffic area full of drunk people like were talking 10000's each night(that is how busy some of these area's of london are) and charge like £5-10 per hotdog and you can imagine how much money is involved each night. also good chance the people here are involved in other shady stuff like money laundering etc in the city i lived in as a student there was a guy with a stall(was fully legit had his documents on the wall laminated so if anybody asked you could see etc that he had been certified and health inspections had been done) talked to him quite often on my way home from my bar job and 1 night we talked about how busy it had been and in 1 night of selling just some basic hotdogs,burgers etc he had made about £10k in 1 night and so wouldnt need to work rest of the month and the stall was completely empty of food(it was a very busy weekend with several concerts and music festival happening around the city)

I came into this thinking they're being assholes, but when I saw those partially cooked hotdogs sitting bare in a dirty cardboard box at room temp, and raw hot dogs sitting at room temp I realised these idiots selling the hot dogs are literally poisoning people. For Christ's sake at least put the damn things in a cooler. This is what desperate people do though. Fix the root problem and these people won't need to sell hot dogs on such a shoe string budget they can't afford a permit or even a cooler just to get by.

@@zszempty Do you not understand how food borne illnesses work? Once meat is cooked it still has to be kept above or below certain temps or else it can make you sick if left at room temp too long. Also, those cardboard boxes are not appropriate sanitary containers to be keeping food in. Cardboard is porous and absorbs nasty shit and bacteria.

I once helped out for a day on a burger van. At the end of the day - at a fair held at a police training centre! - I looked at the boxes of leftover burgers and sausages, and said 'Oh, what a shame, we'll have to throw these away.' The bloke who ran the show shook his head, and with a smile said 'No, we don't do that mate, Just refreeze them'.... I'd been helping myself to stuff from the grill all day - perk of the job- but some twenty fives years I've never eaten from a burger van, stall whatever again.
