I love Chris Barnes’s vocals, especially on the Bleeding but nobody has ever sounded as evil as Craig Pillard on the early Incantation albums.

Favorite band logos in no particular order: Impaled Nazarene, Incantation, Obituary (the metallic logo used on Slowly We Rot), Morbid Angel, Infester, Massacra, Terrorizer, Beherit, Sinister, Asphyx, Demigod, Demilich and Voivod (Rrröööaaarrr logo). This is off the top of my head; however, there are many more cool ones.

Johnny Hedlund on Unleashed-Where No Life Dwells. His vocals on that album were fuckin amazing. Also, nobody sounds like he did. Not even him anymore

They always have sick artwork and their logo changes iver the years have all been sick. (Except for the severed survival alternate cover)

Hey Justin. What’s your opinion on bands that don’t publish their Lyrics? When you guys reissue albums that don’t have the lyrics published (ex: Last Days of Humanity) do you guys try contacting the band to see if they can send you the lyrics for the album so you can publish them?

I think The Bleeding is one of Chris’ greatest works of all time for his vocals. I do prefer Butchered and Tomb for myself personally but The Bleeding was his crowning achievement. Still kept it low and brutal but were surprisingly easily to understand now

I like King Fowleys vocals a lot, Brian Sekula from Terror, Matt Harvey and Ross Sewage, Adam and Tom from Cardiac Arrest rule, Don from nunslaughter has a very distinct vocal style as does Paul from Embalmer. Corporate Death is also a great vocalist. Matti Karki has his own style too. I really like Sharon from Derketa, Ash Thomas, Barnes and Corpsegrinder, Ross from Immolation, Jon from Incantation, Chris Reifert...Those are the ones that come to mind.

There’s an interview with Ross and Rob where they stated they didn’t use the OG logo on the covers cause it looks goofy with the artworks. Don’t know how much that’s actually true but there ya go

I'd have to say Lorna Shore or Suicide Silence, mainly because I CAN'T STAND deathcore. I also don't get the hype about Sanguisugabogg (I literally had to look up the spelling). They're not the worst but still....Ruben Rosas of Devourment and the dude from Mortal Decay started a trend in DM vocals that is still being ripped off today!

I think either Bob or Ross of Immolation talked about the logo change for those albums in an interview. They said they used the regular font logo because they didn’t like the way old logo looked with the album art.

Worst Popular Band in the underground would easily be for me Mayhem and/or Emperor. I like Mayhem’s “De Mysterious Dom Sathanas” and everything they did before but everything after is either meh or complete DOGSHIT. They are the Sex Pistols of Black Metal as they only have one good studio album and are completely overrated and overhyped due to the controversy surrounding them. As for Emperor I like their debut album and everything before that but the stuff after is mediocre and pretentious as fuck. Also overrated for the same reasons as Mayhem. Blasphemy and Archgoat are 1000 times more Black Metal then Gayhem and Fagperor, never put out any garbage, stayed true to their origins and Black Metal, much darker and heavier, and easily send Gayhem and Fagperor to their respective graves in the Ross Bay Cemetery.

I'd say early Frank Mullen has been extremely influential alongside Butchered and Tomb Era Chris Barnes. I do find Ross Dolan has very distinguishable vocals.

hard agree on barnes on CC albums, his vocals are totally different on every CC album, and he never gets credit for it. also agree that every album his vocals are far above average for every style he does. not sure i'd say greatest of all time though, a fair few random ass grind and death bands have a range of vocals they do differently alternating between high and low stuff, however, i wouldn't argue with anyone saying barnes is the best, he's a good choice. then again i can't think of a vocalist i think is the best, just random bands that are above average. maybe if i was forced to name someone, lord worm, just for how deranged he sounds.
