I’ve lived in many parts of this world myself. I really don’t care what Tucson is like. The people there are Americans and that alone gives me a sense of comfort.

I moved to Tucson from NY (born and raised) 17 years ago. So living In Tucson is a piece of cake. I don't miss shoveling snow, the cold weather the heavy population, traveling to the city for work. What I do miss is my daughter so I travel back every few years or she'll come see me. I miss the theater but I've seen some great shows in Tucson. I love Tucson. I love everything about it. It's not perfect but It could be worse. So just do your research, visit a few times like we did and find what works for you. Thank you for another great Video!

We were from NE Indiana and got tired of having winter from late October to whenever it decides to leave as late as May! I was there on the 5th of May last year and there was 3" of snow on the ground! No thanks! I love the Tucson area!

I'm also a native Tucsonan and I absolutely love it here! I moved to Springfield Missouri to be close to my little sister and her family and I was out there for six years, other than that I've always lived in Tucson. Other than missing my family, when I lived in Springfield I really missed the heat, the mountains and the Mexican Food! Tucson has absolutely beautiful mountain views, beautiful areas for camping, hiking, mountain biking and other outdoor activities, beautiful near perfect weather half of the year, amazing Mexican Food and so much more! Thanks for sharing this great video! :-)

Thanks so much! I agree with everything you just said! I lived in Montana for almost 4 years in my 20s but otherwise I’ve always been in Tucson too. Loved Montana but missed everything you mentioned (especially the heat and Mexican food!) Love all of our outdoor adventures! Solid list. I hadn't considered some of these as being a problem everywhere. I think the summer Heat is likely a most places problem too. I have family in Illinois and it is only slightly cooler in the summer and unbearable cold in the winter. Meaning at least 6 months out of the year, you don't even want to walk outside. At least it is only 4 months for us.

Thank you for your videos! Keep up the great work! I’m from “humid” and “flat” Florida and I’ve learned a lot about Tucson from your channel and what it has to offer. Thanks again for your content! I Love Arizona especially ❤️Tucson❤️ and the desert southwest is my favorite part of the country for sure. I went on a road trip out west last summer and I really enjoyed my stop in the Tucson area. I visited Saguaro National Park and drove through some residential areas to see the real estate. I really like the desert style homes with the “zero maintenance” desert landscaping. One of the biggest selling points is not having any grass to mow, water and fertilize. Here in Florida it’s an ongoing battle with maintaining your lawn! I’ve only explored a portion of Tucson and I fell in love with it! The dry air was wonderful and the mountain scenery was beautiful! I can never get tired of viewing the desert mountains especially living in the eastern portion of the country all my life. I was depressed when leaving Arizona and having to drive back to Florida… My goal is to buy a new construction home in Oro Valley or Vail areas. I may start off by living in Tucson during hurricane season and live in Florida in the winter months. If I can see the mountains through my windows and backyard I’ll be extremely happy. I’m pretty sure the price tag for homes located close to the mountains will be higher. [This comment was posted by your future Tucson resident] ❤️🌵🌴🚵‍♂️🌞

Ive lived there. What amazed me was how many people are hit and killed by cars there. I even witnessed one, it was extremely horrifying.

I’m sorry you witnessed that, that must’ve been extremely scary. I do occasionally hear about people getting hit by cars in Tucson, and I honestly think it’s a combination of our roads not all being in the best condition, plus we have a lot of people who live here who are not completely familiar with the city (snowbirds who only live here in the winter time, college students who only live here while school is in session, etc), and I also feel like we have a lot of people who walk around on our streets especially Midtown, all hours of the day and night.

AGREED! A gentleman was hit in his wheelchair 2 cars in front of me, while he was legally crossing. Broadway/Craycroft area last winter. Didn't even make the news.

Housing prices and rents have gotten seemingly unsustainable in Tucson. I left in July, 2019 after 12 years to move back east to be closer to aging family members. Since I left the 2BD/2.5B townhouse I was renting went from $919/mo. to $1,735/mo. Oh, but they "renovated" the units. By the sound of all the one-star reviews it was very shoddy work done on the cheap. This was a trend starting around the time I left - out of state companies buying up local complexes and raising rents... Houses I was eyeing to buy in years past have now surpassed their 2006 bubble prices. I can't see these prices lasting in what is still a low wage city.

Yep, all true: low wages, rising rents and real estate prices. I know that rent and real estate are skyrocketing across the country, so this is definitely not happening just in Tucson, and I still think that other cost of living in Tucson are below the national average and below the state average in general, but yes we are a generally low wage city and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

I was just there on the east side. Great views but I heard what the rent was and it was horribly high. The homeless are everywhere. And the heat was crazy hot seeing as it was may. The outskirts are more peaceful forsure.

If you can't handle Tucson rent I don't know how your going to survive. Nope no freeways they will ruin our city and views. We don't want to be Phoenix. That's why there's Phoenix for you to move too if you want to drive all over the freeways. People move here then they leave if they don't like it. If you like Tucson you stay if not you leave. We don't want Tucson to turn into Phoenix or L.A. And it could if we allowed it to. 😉

Thanks for the honest assessment. I grew up there in the 70s and can’t imagine growing up anyplace else. Anyone interested in Tucson needs to visit and experience it. It’s not for everyone, but for many, it’s perfect.

I totally agree! And different people are going to have different experiences based on the area of town they live on, so I feel the area of town is just as important as the house people live in. I always encourage anyone moving here to come here first and visit for at least a week to check out the city for that very reason. Thanks so much for exploring the channel! 😎🌵☀️

I moved here from Detroit in 2014. Worse roads than Tucon's do exist. City has its negatives, but I am glad I moved here. The plusses outweigh the minuses by a LOT.

Despite being a so-called "dry" climate, I became extremely ill from black mold. I've found flat roofs, poor property mgmt, old houses, and monsoons create an extremely toxic environment. The drug addiction aspects are horrendous. I've seen meth addicts cruising around on motorized bikes all hours of the day and night. I've been here over 20 years...I'm leaving. Had enough. Sorry.

I agree..slum lords run rampant and sure..if you make more than 65k a year with one job..Tucson is probably attractive! The drug problem is everywhere but I'm telling you..I've lived in 7 other states and you can get from your car to the store door without getting harassment from the homeless! I truly wish your next move brings you happiness and peace!❤

I moved from Westport, Connecticut, to Tucson, Arizona, in January 1972. Next January I will celebrate 50 years of living in Tucson. I have visited the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, Reid Park Zoo, Sabino Canyon, an art gallery featuring works by Ted DeGrazia, Flandrau Science Center and Planetarium, movies at Fox, and the Loft, La Placita, and the Tucson Convention Center. Yes, it is hot in summer, and by September I long for fall weather but don't the beauty of cacti, desert blossoms, gorgeous sunsets, and the serenity and majesty of the Tucson Mountains, the Santa Catalinas, the Rincon Mountains, and the Santa Ritas more than compensate? I know not everyone will love or even like Tucson but I have been very grateful my 2,500-mile move was a success.

I moved here two years ago after 19 years in Boston. Yes, I knew it was going to be a change, but I was ready to experience a new part of this beautiful country (grew up in Midwest). A colleague’s parents had retired here and he was very positive about his memories of visits which helped me keep an open mind. I was warned by someone about the various pockets of crime so I spent a lot of time searching for a place I felt comfortable, but I don’t think it’s much different than any place else. Many of these complaints are all relative. Most places I,ve lived have had similar problems with roads. I live about 15 min from campus, where I work and most roads are fine. There is one bad patch along my commute. The rest is great. My complaint is the large pay cut I took to live here. The only thing that costs less here is housing, but that has gone up quite a bit in the last two years. I was dumb enough to believe them when they said the cost of living was different, so that is my biggest complaint. The state itself has a terrible ranking for schools, but I just heard from a faculty member who’s kids went to a charter school (now in college) the same thing mentioned in the video. As for the homeless, my bro lives in CA and says other states have literally bussed their homeless there. It is a much better climate (except summer) to be homeless in. Though again, most every major city has homeless people in particular areas. I’m looking forward to some of the many outdoor festivals and cultural events returning as I have not experienced those (or much of anything) yet due to the pandemic. Would love to hear what some of the local favorite festivals are!

Thanks for all your input. I truly feel that things have been so different in the past two years in this city, (and everywhere). I completely agree about the cost of living and the pay cuts that people often take when they come here. We really don’t have a lot of high-paying jobs here. But we are very popular for retirees and snowbirds and university students, (most of whom don’t worry about having a high-paying job here because that’s not their main priority). So we’re definitely not the high-paying city that a lot of families are looking for; Phoenix has those types of jobs. When things are normal, Tucson has a lot of fun shows, parades, street fairs, farmers markets, museums open, and so many outdoor adventures that can be had here. Wishing you more fun in Tucson in the upcoming years! 😎

It's trash truck juice in Tucson. The idea that a Metro area with around a million people would have one freeway is just cray. One freeway in the middle of the town would not significantly effect views. It's like the size of Denver or Cleveland but had limited resources by comparison.

The only redeeming thing about Tuscon is that it's not as sprawling as it wants to be. Thank Gaia that there's only one freeway because otherwise you'd be living in another soulless car town.

@@Azzenstudent I'm all for the harmonious balance between progress and the Earth. Balance being the key word. How is it that Phoenix and Tucson have similar average car commute times? Leadership in Tucson can't be that worried about pollution considering their current water quality woes. The city's true soul rests with methamphetamine use and teen. pregnancies.

Lived here all my life and the traffic in the city is horrendous and so are so many other problems. Couldn’t believe when I drove down Golf Links first time in a few years. All the homelessness. All thanks to your councilmen. The best parts of town are not in the city limits also thanks to the council people and Mayor. You can have them.

yet unlike denver you can drive across the metro area in 45 minutes with the existing infrastructure, and i just visted denver and thay have a massive homeless problem too lots of tents along pretty much every major road way i drove down...

Agree!!! I love my city. There's so much history in Tucson. I was born at TMC in 1958. Graduated from Flowing Wells and want my ashes sprinkled on Mt. Lemon, so I can eventually spend eternity in Sabino Canyon. And let's not forget to FOOD!

My family is from Tucson my dad was born there. I was born in Phoenix and all I can say is the roads are absolutely the worst in any city in AZ and I am not sure why. Whoever is in charge of maintaining the roads should be fired.

I lived in Tucson for eight years. We lived on the east side on the very edge of the city. We had a beautiful neighborhood called Civano. We did not quite live in Vail. The scenery is absolutely unbelievable. If you are used to green and lush vegetation it is a bit of a shock but you’ll eventually get used to it and learn the beauty of the desert.

Love your common sense approach to evaluating Tucson. Yes, there are good and bad as there are for every other city in the US. Personally, as a San Franciscan, I could not handle the desert temp, but know that there are people who "love the heat". Frankly, the so-called "worst things about Tucson" show that Tucson is no different from any other city in the US.

You did an excellent job with addressing concerns. Basically, the complaints people have shared with you are everywhere and it doesn’t matter if it’s a town or city. Overall, the weather, the big town feel, UA, scenery, diversity and more are very attractive. I am now in OK, but I miss Tucson greatly. And as far as places in AZ to live, Tucson is hands down the best place to live.

These are 100% accurate. I was born and raised here. One thing I love is how much Mexican food we have. One thing I hate is how many hospitals we have for when moms are in labor. My sister had to drive 45 minutes to get to a hospital and I had to drive 50 minutes to get to one.

I’m new to Tucson but I did a lot of research before I moved here. I knew what to expect as far as climate, cost of living, etc. I did not know neighborhoods very well, but I learned quickly and I found areas a little north which I like. I’ve been reading a lot of the comments and I’m completely blown away by so many about how expensive housing is in Tucson. I moved here from San Francisco, where a 3-bedroom house would cost at least $1.3 million (that is very much on the low end and hard to find), in Tucson it’s around $308,000. Rent for 2 bedroom apartments in SF start about $3500+ for maybe 750 square feet, while in Tucson it’s more like $1400 for 1200 square feet. So forgive me for laughing just a little. I do understand that wages are lower, but I’ve done comparisons there too, and they are not different enough to account for the difference in housing costs. Anyway, I think I will like this somewhat alien city, the views and sunsets are awesome, and I am looking forward to finally having time to explore the hiking trails and the parks and desert areas.

While I appreciate all views, I do think Tucson is a city that is extremely diverse: some areas have expensive real estate, some don’t. Some have great schools/jobs/neighborhoods/traditionally low crime, other areas don’t. If someone can find an area of town that suits them and works for them, they might be very happy here. I lived in Tucson, AZ with parents from 1985-1988. Much smaller town back then. I was probably a little kid about 12 years old. I went to Naylor Middle School on Columbus. I couldn't agree with you more on Tucson. It's a very nice small town but it does have its downsides. Its great for retirees and low cost of living. Not much industry, not many good paying jobs and yes its hot in summer. The crime can't be half as bad as in a big city like where i currently live now. I would consider coming back to Tucson when I retire someday. The best place to live in Tucson is up toward the Catalina Foothills. Tucson has a lot of history and is worth paying a visit. Arizona The Grand Canyon State is a beautiful state with all the mountains. Hope to be back someday and visit the valley of the sun.

We have spent the past 5 winters here. We absolutely love Tucson. The weather, culture, restaurants and small town feel is something we both fell in love with. Our only complaint is the litter along the freeway and some boulevards. Tucson can do so much better controlling litter such as harsher fines, requiring loads to be covered. We are from Alaska and most cities have banned plastic bags. It has made an incredible difference!

Great video. Straight up and to the point, like most Tusconans I have met. I bought a home here in July and moved here in November and have had zero regrets. It's a great place to live. True, there are a few things in the video I totally agree with (complaints) but it's still better than many other places in Arizona, and there are plenty of things to do if you get up and explore. Thumbs up for the video!

I recently visited Tucson Arizona. I’m from Los Angeles CA, and honestly it was beautiful I love the scenery of the mountains and the art. I never saw the homelessness as bad as people proclaim it to be. Yes it is a city in development because there were lots of roadwork especially in the downtown area but they have great food and lots of places to shop around. Living in a overpopulated city traffic in Tucson was not an issue at all. My only few cons would be 1) heat and 2) we had to travel sometimes 20-30 to each destination because the places we wanted to see were far. One final comment the people in Tucson were all very very friendly and welcoming.

A city in development?! Hmmm if you call development living with crappy roads for as long as I can remember development then I guess that’s a polite way to say it. The county mishandles money and diverts it to pet projects that don’t benefit but a small portion of people and some that never benefit anyone.

Thank you for touching base on the traffic here (among everything else you touched base on). I'm originally from Colorado, more recently the Denver area and have had to commute through Denver multiple times. A former boss of mine lived in Vegas. I've traveled through other cities, and going through Texas in general during this last Thanksgiving season was a nightmare! Even I get annoyed with the traffic flow and stoplights (granted, I'm also the type to leave at the last minute alot to get to work). But here's the thing... you have aggressive drivers, slow drivers, rude and stupid drivers, and traffic jams... everywhere! Everywhere big enough, anyways. In my opinion and limited experience, Tucson driving really isn't that bad. If you leave at a decent time and have it figured out, you'll get there on time. My work commute basically takes me just about as long every time, with very little difference. And then, after work, it's nice to be chill. Also, yes, we have alot of homeless people here all over town. But again, comparatively speaking, it's not as bad as other major cities where you have tent cities lining the streets and paraphernalia you would rather not step in or nearby. It's pretty spread out here, of which can be nice or annoying... depending on your preference or mood at the moment. Lol. Also, like a guy I used to work with said "you want snow? Drive 45 minutes. You'll find snow".

Thanks for the video. I just visited Tucson I loved so many things. I was sad that there was no recycling of any kind. Plastic water bottles are highly used but not recycled. Can you tell me if this is all over AZ or just where I was in Tucson. Thank you very much. Also, what part of Tucson can I plant fruits trees and a small vegetable garden for our family use please?

Hi there thank you so much for the kind words about Tucson. Citrus trees grow very well here so I wouldn’t say there’s a specific area of town that is better, it’s pretty much across the city. We also have quite a few herbs and vegetables that grow well here, although I have to admit I don’t have much of a green thumb to be honest with you… if you wanted to contact a Tucson nursery I’m sure they could answer any plant/gardening questions you have. As for the recycling, We have a lot of opportunities for recycling here and a lot of recycling bins set up next to trash cans in public places all over the city, and we have recycling pick up at our home once a week. The 8 days we spent in Tucson were so amazing and I loved the heat. Besides Alaska, Tucson has been the most beautiful overall place I've seen in landscape. You don't have a traffic problem and I say that having lived all over the US and traveled to many places. It was so easy to get around but yes, it took a while to get from one side to the other but the views were amazing to help pass the time lol. We loved a used book/music/etc. store you all have there called Bookman's on Speedway Rd. I think it was. And of course Eegee's!! We ate there 3 times. A few things I didn't like about Tucson: 1. Sun goes down too fast because no daylight savings time. By 7 it was dark. 2. Backyard space is hard to find in housing. 3. Tarantulas! We saw 4 on our path hiking and one got on my daughter's leg! 4. Having to wear sunscreen - we got burnt first hour outside, so we had to wear sunscreen the rest of the time when we went hiking or swimming. It was frustrating because I can be out a long time here in Ohio at 90 degrees and never get burned but 30 minutes in Tucson and I already start burning. Maybe because closer to the equator and more direct sun?? I think a wide brimmed hat is a must if you'll be outside a while and long sleeves if you don't want to wear sunscreen.

I worked at the Miraval in 2014 and had never been to Arizona. Man Tucson made me just LOVE the desert and Arizona specifically. Love the mountains, food, even the weather. I was sad I had to leave before monsoon season as I heard they are quite a sight. I also quickly became a fan of U of A basketball. Bear down! Love Tucson!

I guess it depends on interests. There’s definitely plenty of hiking and camping year round (in the hot summers, Mount Lemmon is always an option). A lot of people I know go mountain biking in the mountains and cycling all over the city. But if people aren’t interested in outdoor activities, then Tucson might not be a good fit.

I am lookingbto buy in a year or two. Looking at a budget of 500k to 600k with at least 2 acres and either a large 3 car garage of a small garage with an RV garage or shop. What parts of Tucson has things like that where it's also safe?

Every state and cities have their faults. I absolutely love Tucson and l have been there at every time of year. Trust me Tucson is comfortable in the summer compared to my home state of Texas, and l mean south Texas. Try 99 degrees with 90 percent humidity. I had friends from Arizona that have told me Texas has got the crown for heat.

I've been living out here since fall of 2014 when I was 24, currently 32, and there are a lot of things I love and hate about this city. I personally really like the weather/climate and feel that the summers are not all that bad, as we do cool off quite a bit during the evening. I grew up in New England and used to get a cold about twice a year, once in the late fall and another the tail end of the winter/early spring. I almost NEVER get sick out here and I overall feel healthier. There is a lot of natural beauty with the desert and mountains virtually around the entire metro area. I live off the mountains on the west side and have access to amazing hiking within just a couple minutes of my house. Now for the cons, and there are many of them. The homelessness is a rampant issue that you can find almost everywhere in the city. This has been an issue for a while but when COVID started in 2020 it went to an entirely different degree. There are literally tent villages scattered in various spots that are quite visible. There is a huge problem with drugs and crime, part of this I blame on defunding TPD but also because of the overall poverty, demographics and with it being a border town. On a social level, I feel that if you are past college age but in your mid 20s-30s and single this is not a great dating market. The social scene is also heavily dominated by fake douchebag social media posers trying to create some phony instagram life for the public to see, it's all b.s. There are a lot of scam artists out here, real estate seems to be a big one that I see. There are also a lot of gold digging women out here, I feel that this is because of the degree of poverty and wanting to rise above it. The school systems are also horrendous from what I've read and the high school drop out rate for Tucson high is close to 30% if I'm not mistaken. I mostly feel that this is an issue related to demographics but I'm sure there are other factors at play.

Lived here for 30 years, love the winters, summer is unbearable unless you have air conditioning and not a swamp cooler. Roads are bad, rent has gone sky high, crime is worse than it ever was, homeless are taking over too many parks and street corners, drug addicts are everywhere. Jobs are available, employees change constantly, no work ethics. But that’s everywhere you go now. Considering all the downs about Tucson I still like living here!

I grew up in Tucson during the late 1950's through the 1960's. I lived on the East side before all the building took place. I attended Palo Verde high school. Tucson is where I became fully aware of all the beauty that surrounded me, and of the world at large. I was ten years old. Tucson is, and always will be in my heart, and I am proud to call Tucson my home.

I've been coming to Tucson for over 20 years- I even stayed one year for three months. This year I noticed that there was so much trash around- piles of it in nature and beautiful areas. Also lots of vandalism. It made me very sad that my favorite city was falling victim to the dark side.

I love cities with lots of "hairs out of place", they're more generic and honest. Having moved from Las Vegas with too many hair in place, I love, love, love this quaint city. No city like it!

This is a great and informative presentation. Kimberly, thank you for a fair, honest, and very well-researched infomercial. I moved here from Boston at Christmastime, 2005, and I, too, love Tucson. To be sure, all of the issues to which you call attention are a part of Tucson's reality, but every location, no matter where that may be will have its unique and wonderful characteristics as well as some negative drawbacks. I often hear people make the mistake of comparing Tucson to Phoenix; in my opinion the two cities are apples and oranges; that is to say they are extremely different from each other, both have significant strengths and weaknesses. If someone is considering living in one or the other of these two great southwestern cities, your decision making should be made on a consideration based on the merits of each city independently. I have lived in both cities, they are both fabulous in their own way. I can also tell you I am so happy here in Tucson that I don't care if I ever get back to Boston. If I never do, that would be just fine with me.

I think the natural beauty and culture of the city outweighs the crappy planning and poverty, and honestly just adding another lane and sprucing up the east side of i10 would fix a lot of issues.

I was born at the Univerity hospital... 1969. there is a street named for my dad. I have never liked the lack of turn arrows at huge intersections.

I remember winter 1971...i went to Tucson with my mom, rented a room at the already gone hotel Santa Rita that night was cold it was Seattle cold which is mild but still wsd frozen

Tucson has become a racetrack (with a speed limit) all night long. Since when is that allowed & where is the law? There is so much trash & dog waste. Pick it up, people! It's the law. So much for going out for a walk along the wash & enjoying the occasional desert creature that may run across the path. I spend more time counting piles of dog waste than sightseeing! Listen up, you inconsiderate creeps! Pick up after your domesticated dog because it's the law & you are not exempt!

Moves here from back east, love my view of Rincon and Mt Lemon. The heat sucks honestly it wears on you The people are not nearly as friendly. I grew up in a melting pot but yea not friendly much, could be do to my career choice. Roads suck, people don't drive very well especially snow birds. Watch out in the winter when they go across three lanes without notice. Too many mentally ill, drug addicted folks but it's a city so it is what it is. Homeless everywhere, yea it's a city. Property crime is crazy high, left Catalina hills and moved to East side based on co-workers advice. East side has more property crime and get use to hearing random gunshots at 1am. Police are understaffed as they are across the nation because of the false narrative so don't expect anyone to get there fast. The good, I ride a mc on the daily and cycling too. Great roads (not surface it sucks) and great places to camp even during the summer. The economy and pay are disproportionate. Rent is higher than it should be for what you get. Food is a great, it you like Mexican food it's the epicenter. Can't find a good NYC pizza, some come close but most don't. They do have a great bar called franks who is a native of my hometown. Steeler Nation is represented here. Lots of burgh people so that cool. My daughter lives in Bear Canyon, beautiful but rent is crazy high. My other one lives just outside Phoenix and the rent is even higher. Let's see if I e left anything out🤔. I am looking to move into Northern AZ, at least up there you can have a change of season to some degree and cold weather sounds good especially for camping. Oh also tons of BLM land and national forest. Can't beat that when diapereei camping.

How far and or how long of a drive is it from Phoenix? From the sound of it form what I saw in a few vids I would like to live in Tuscon but prolly gotta find work in Phoenix. I'm in the bldng engineer field which is basically part of a crew that operates and maintains the heating and cooling systems as well other maintenance repair stuff on mechanical equipment.

A lot of people who live in Tucson actually commute to Phoenix at least a couple days a week. Tucson is generally a little cooler and a little more affordable than Phoenix, but the commute could probably be pretty rough. Depending on where you live in Tucson and where you live in Phoenix it’s probably a good 2 hour drive each way. I often tell people who are planning to drive to Phoenix regularly to live in Marana because that’s already partway to Phoenix and you will still have really easy access to Tucson

I grew up in N. Ireland, Canada, Detroit worked and lived in the Middle East for 32 years…..out of that; I picked Tucson (Saddlebrooke) 22 years ago and still love it. I agree with you about the traffic, I love it. :-)

Wait, how do you call the people from Tucson? Tucsonan, Tucsonian, or Tucsonite? "There are no jobs and a lot of homeless people" Yup. I was at the Tucson Spectrum mall 2 weeks ago and saw a few homeless people near the Best Buy parking lot, reminding me of LA. I hope it never becomes as bad as LA or California in general. Edit: Other than that, I loved revisiting the Saguaro National Park and Catalina Mountains. So beautiful.

also keep in mind the city is accepting 300-500 afghan refuges, idk why though since there plenty of homeless people in Downtown and on Golf Links near Davis Monthan who could use a hand. but i guess they would rather help people on the other side of the wolrd rather than people who have been homeless here for awhile

It's a shame Tucson didn't fight to keep some the MLB teams who used to do their spring training there now they've been losing that revenue to Mesa, Scottsdale, Peoria & Surprise. Another thing it's seems they frown upon is on those who wanna start a business by having them cut through so much red tape which makes no sense SMH 🤦🏽‍♂️

Used to live in Tucson three years ago. Love the mountains, sunshine, blue skies and stars ⭐️ at night. Now we live in Florida, climate has changed here cloudy and rainy days with humidity. Very little sun. Lived in Buckeye Arizona for 28 years. Also miss the dry climate. Hope to come back for a visit.

I know that it has its drawbacks, like every city, but I love this city and enjoy living here. Having been to many cities throughout the USA and Canada, I can say that Tucson is one of my favorite places to live, only a close second to my birthplace of Las Vegas. I love the area, and the climate even though it gets HOR! Yes the roads need work and there are some political things that I disagree with bur for the most part I love this city and its people.

I first moved to Tucson in 1984 to attend the UA. I loved this city but recently the crime has gotten ridiculous. And the infrastructure is bad. But when I move away I always return. But Tucson is losing it's charm. Gentrification has not been good for Tucson. Take downtown. It was commercially a dead zone in the 20th century, but it had a lot of personality. Now it's a corporate/commercial wasteland! And where have all the damn tweekers come from!

A couple of things about Tucson that weren't mentioned. First, the government, both county and city are very corrupt; that will not change. Tucson is extremely "Blue"; that will not change. Those two things result in some of the observations made in this video.

As for traffic: I live in a smaller town several miles outside of Tucson, but I don't really mind the traffic when we visit Tucson. I moved here from the Baltimore/DC area which is much worse. Don't forget the Fort Huachuca Army base as a major source of jobs for southern AZ, both private companies and government civilian jobs, not just military personnel. Many people live in the "big city" of Tucson and commute to the much smaller city of Sierra Vista to work on Fort Huachuca.
