For some reason my camera decided not to record any audio. I almost just deleted all the footage and forgot about it, bit decided to just put a music track to it and post it anyways. We were wearing Rode Wireless Go 2 mic's that were working fine, but the camera didn't want to play nice, even though it showed the sound levels recording.

Great video!!! At least you did not have to worry about beeping some inappropriate language out! Now, I know you have the pick-up lights setup for warning, strobe or flashing or whatever the technical term is. When you had both doors opened on the back, the doors the flashing tail lights and backup lights, therefore, making any on-coming traffic from the rear not being able to see them. I know you do not like the bright lights on top, but seriously you really need to have some high mounted amber warning lights. There has to be a solution for lights that are low profile, not blindingly bright, but can let drivers be aware something is going on when you are working with both of the doors open. Maybe some lights on the inside of the doors towards the top where you can turn them on and off from the back of the truck. Test something, go out to your truck, turn your warning lights on and then open both rear doors all the way and walk back 100 to 300 yards and look. I am sure the lights will be blocked. It is all about keeping you safe out there so you can go home to your cutest daughter in the world (and future office boss) and one very brave wife.
@CaseyLaDelle

Luckily I was positioned so that oncoming traffic was not coming from the rear of the truck, which is how I always try to position. But if that wasn't possible or the situation was more dangerous, I simply would have went back home and someone else can deal with it

@kevinmcelheran4489
@kevinmcelheran4489 2 жыл бұрын
@@CaseyLaDelle you have not experienced the need yet to need strobes. There is a reason emergency, recovery and tow vehicles have them. Other drivers don’t care about hazard flashers but they will pay attention to bright Amber/clear strobes. It will only take one near miss or a full on hit from someone who wasn’t triggered into awareness, to change your mind. We can even discuss that a high percentage of other drivers won’t slow down when passing hazard flashing lights but if you’re lit up like a Christmas tree with strobes, the high percentage slow down.
@CaseyLaDelle

@kevinmcelheran4489
@kevinmcelheran4489 2 жыл бұрын
@@CaseyLaDelle I am very curious as to why they are stupid and dangerous when used on a highway. What if the scene is at night with heavy fog or snow storm or driving rain wipers don’t seem to help… Are you still good with dim hazard flashers? If you were the man to decide whether or not tow trucks and (let’s throw in snow plows to the mix) had strobes or not, would you have them taken off? Perhaps you don’t like them because they take up too much real estate. Ever seen the clean look of a police ghost car?
@GlamorganManor
@GlamorganManor 2 жыл бұрын
@@CaseyLaDelle Enjoying your channel, just subscribed. I agree that too much flashing light can be distracting to the point of dangerous (in fact we had a state trooper run over while directing traffic because they used to park about 20 patrol cars with every light going during the state fair to slow down cars that would come off of the interstate exit and traffic would be all backed up; the poor driver that killed him said she just didn't see him in the chaos). Not sure if you've seen Ron Pratt's channel, he was my first tow channel addiction :) he uses Guardian Angel lights that sit on top of cones. They are small enough so the eye doesn't lose its accommodation for the dark condition, but noticeable. Might want to check them out.
