Something to consider when opting to stay at off resort hotels is the daily parking fees at Disney.

I always stay in the swan and dolphin resort and it is the BEST hotel I have ever stayed at. 100 percent recommend💯

I'm an annual pass holder at WDW. I took my parents, sister, and brother-in-law to WDW 5 years ago. Since it was their first WDW trip ever and my parents' 40th wedding anniversary, we decided to stay at the Polynesian resort. Our room was beautiful and had an incredible view of Magic Kingdom but with my annual pass discount, it was $1500 for two nights. Expensive? Yes. But so Worth it!!!! We had an awesome time and we took advantage of our hotel's offerings, monorail, restaurant, pool, bars. Good times. God bless. 🙏❤️🙏

My heart belongs to the poly. It’s the whole experience not just a place to lay my head. Swan and Dolphin a close second.

Our first time was The Little mermaid rooms at art of animation. It was only four of us, but this time around there were five of us and we stayed at Port Orleans Riverside and we loved it!!!! Worth every penny!!!!

Booked my first DVC rental ever for Bay Lake Tower in October for 3 nights in a studio. Specifically booked it because I don’t want to deal with transportation at the end of MNSSHP at the end of the night. It will be nice to walk back at the end of our MK day, as well. We then will be moving to Pop for the remainder of our vacation since we don’t need to stay deluxe for the whole stay. Just want it for proximity’s sake to MK since it takes forever to get back to any Value resort from there or have to get back to your car at the TTC from there. Should note that renting DVC points came out to $1,260 for 3 nights for a lake view studio during Fall break (mid-October).

My Dream resort would be the polynesian! Love the theme & atmosphere! Sadly it is just to pricey. Maybe some day! Love you AllEars!

Coronado Springs is my favorite resort that I’ve stayed at but I think my dream trip would be the Polynesian or Rivera or grand Floridian 🤔

If you decide to book the Swan or Ugly Fish, check to see that there aren't any conventions taking place at the time you want to go.

I've stayed at Pop Century, Saratoga Springs and just spent a week at the Caribbean. Pop Century is chaos and the buses are usually packed. For the money, the Caribbean is the best choice. It's just as quiet as the Saratoga and the Skyliner gets you to Epcot and Hollywood Studios in like 10-15 minutes without being jammed in. If you have to use the bus, you can usually get a seat.

I just stayed at All-star Movies, in December. I just needed a clean room to sleep in and a pool. For me, a deluxe resort would be a waste of money because if I'm at Disney, I'm in the parks. I only splurged on my meals.

Drury plaza hotel at Disney Springs is a fantastic hotel if ur looking to save money. Free breakfast/ dinner buffets (the dinner one is called 530 kickbacks comes with 3 free alcoholic drinks for adults), very clean, beds were comfy. And it wasn't a very far bus ride to the parks. We went last December and we're already planning again for next year.

I an 100% a POP century princess. I have stayed all over the property @ WDW, and I still prefer POP. Easy access, close proximity to transportation, and resort is not huge. I feel in no way cheated by staying at this 'value' resort. It is my 1st choice when doing Disbey alone, unless I am bringing others and they have specific requests. I spend my money in other places.

Art of animation is amazing! Most rooms are affordable and they all have themes so you can match the room to your kiddo’s favorite character like the little mermaid or lion king.

If you are staying on property, I suggest taking a day to chill at the hotel! Some of my favorite times were some of my hotel days.

I think deluxe wouldn't be such a splurge if in select days of your trip you get genie plus for free.

I do agree that deluxe resorts are usually a waste of money. I’m going to be spending a night at the contemporary because I had travel credits that only worked if I booked a hotel so I booked the night before my trip at the contemporary.

My son in law took me to Disney and we stayed at the larger of the two Animal Kingdom Resorts and it was like living in a designer condo. I can't remember if it was 2 or 3 bdrm. I was given the Master Suite which I shared with my oldest biological granddaughter. I think it cost about $20,000 for a week for 3 adults and 7 kids. But was the best vacation I've been on. Love Disney.

I’ve only gone once and stayed at the all stars movies only slept there and enjoyed it very much. Staying at art of animation next time. The time after that hopefully it’ll be a moderate resort and one day I’ll work my day up to the deluxe. Let’s hope I get a promotion soon.

On my last trip I stayed at the Pop Century resort, and like you said all I needed was a bed to sleep on and it was perfect for my needs.

Also love spending resort time at wilderness lodge!! It reminds me of my childhood!! Just do clean with so much running water etc … Grand Floridian is beautiful but not to stay - but meals , shopping etc lovely ! Contemporary is the contemporary- not exciting - but food is delicious … Still Polynesian is our resort

There's also Disney Springs hotels like Windham. DOUBLE TREE, Drury, Marriott . They also have shuttles.

Ft Wilderness is my jam. Grill your own food, or hop a boat to grey nearby restaurants. Price is an issue though, even the tent sites are +$100

I like Pop Century and Art of Animation because you can take the monorail to: Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Riviera, Caribbean Beach Resorts. You can take either bus for both

I plan to start spending more time at the fancier resorts. I don’t qualify for DAS anymore, and long park days are just not feasible without it. But that’s okay, gives me a reason to check out more stuff!

I love my deluxe resorts. Yacht and beach are my new favorite but my heart will always belong to the grand Floridian

I would rather stay in a Hotel or Rental Home outside of Disney. Its much cheaper and I rather go to Disney muliple times than paying so much for a Hotel Room. I am also not into Disney Characters at all, I prefer a luxury and elegant, modern room. If I would not have to pay, I would probably pick Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Riviera or Contempory.

We joined dvc years ago. We are staying for a week at the riviera in September for the $1000 annual maintenance fee. Out of curiosity i looked it up and a tiny room the same days rack rate would cost $8000…. But we are staying in a big room with kitchen and laundry! Dvc is the way to go if you like deluxe resorts.

Just finished our yearly trip at the Boardwalk. We've stayed at Beachclub, Yachtclub, Port Orleans. Riverside, Pop Century. Love them ALL! But we get to walk to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios when staying at. BOARDWALK, Beachclub, Yachtclub. SWAN & DOLPHIN

A Disney tip: Don't go!! A total rip-off.

My then 17 yr old son and I spent 2 weeks at AOA, and then 5 nights at AKL savanna room. We preferred AOA. AKL was beautiful, but we like the space of a suite at AOA. We saved up for years for that trip and had a blast….until he got an upper respiratory infection.

I’m not denying that the Deluxe resorts are extremely expensive but it’s not like you aren’t receiving good benefits. The atmosphere, restaurants, gift shops, pools, arcades, etc. add a lot to your vacation and traveling to the parks is also much easier and more efficient since you can take monorails or boats or even walk to some of the parks depending on which hotel you’re at.

I had a four day pass during the mid 90s. I stayed totally off the property. Took a shuttle bus to Disney World in the morning and back to my motel at night. Saved a bundle.

You get what you’re wiling to pay for. The deluxe resorts are deluxe for a reason.

Last year, my family and I had a week long stay at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. I enjoyed my trip, but not all Disney hotels are created equally. It was somewhat decently priced, I guess, for Disney.

I always stayed at the Dolphin which i love!!!!! But now these 2 sister resorts are at least $600 usd per night! I have looked every discounted site and all months still a mayor steeper 😢

I've stayed in the most expensive ones, the value ones + the campgrounds...my most favorite is the Campgrounds!!! Anywhere at H°o°me makes me happy, though

I've always stayed off property. If you're willing to walk a few blocks, you can avoid the parking fees. Still get robbed at the gate tho.

As a family we always stayed at Port Orleans or Coronados Springs. I’ve also stayed at the Contemporary. My dream resort since I was a kid is the Polynesian. HOWEVER, I stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge last year (we booked a deal package that was going on only for May and June) and WOW, it is now my favorite.

Contemporary park side high up. So we could watch the fireworks from balcony. Did not have to fight crowds to leave. But new it was last time I was going so did not mind to splurge. Would never do it again lol. Most impressive room I ever stayed in was 2 bedroom villa with kitchen at animal kingdom.

As long as my days are going to be spent in the parks, I can't justify the fancy hotel prices. I won't be there enough to enjoy it.

$65 a night for a 3 bedroom condo just 5 miles away. With 6 people we would need 2 rooms Even with parking fees, I’m getting a week for about 2 nights at a budget Disney hotel

My mom purchased a Disney Vacation Club plan back in 1990 when they were still affordable enough to buy. If you love Disneyworld as much as we do and intend to go often, bring a DVC member has saved us thousands of dollars on hotel fees in that we do not pay actual money for the hotel-we use a point system. That being said, being a DVC member does have its fees and dues which are a couple thousand every year JUST to stay in the club. But if you are a family that wants to go often and even better, lives closer to the parks? DVC is worth it. Now we do get perks BUT we do not get cheaper Disney park tickets. We pay the same price as everyone else. But the convenience of staying on a property hotel to get small discounts on certain souvenir items and food establishments, enjoy extended park hours, even the cast treats you a little nicer. Never regret being a DvC member. Gladly pay my dues.

We just rented a nice Airbnb near by for the 6 of us. 3 bedroom, 2 bath house with a pool. $149 a night. Of course we had to rent a van and pay $25 parking.

They should make it affordable for all children to enjoy.Not just the rich!! Everything is about money!!!

just got back from a 10 day disney world visit and stayed at the military resort (Shades of Green). Even though it was listed as one of their resorts that was it, only listed. No benefits or shipping to room or the transportation. Luckily they had their own bus line but it wasn't fully integrated. Lastly, cost of food and drink made the whole trip miserable because we were always regretting the basic enjoyment of sitting to eat. Thumbs down on the complete experience.

Not true. A deluxe resort is an experience in itself and you’re there for experiences. Find the right agent to help you maximize your dollars and time during your visit. Value resorts are LOADED with guests, so they are noisier and you tend to get a different kind of guest at those resorts. Stay in a Moderate or Deluxe if you can.

If you travel to Disney with the family, don’t get a hotel or a Disney hotel stay at a vacation home in Kissimmee or Orlando you can get really nice 3-4 bedroom houses for anywhere from one $150-$300 a night.

I like to eat and walk. Frozen banana covered with choc/nuts and diet coke. A churro here and there.

I disagree with that, it’s part of a Disney world vacation. As long as you spend enough time at your resort it will end up being worth it. You just need to build in days to only spend at your resort or at least most of the day, which honestly is better than going going every day.

Who wants to stay at the value resorts with their clientele? I’m fine with the luxury resorts

I have stayed on property many times. Now I always rent a condo, near by. I save hundreds of dollars. And don’t have to deal with Disney transportation. Waiting, and walking a couple of extra miles a day. 🥵

We just came back from Disney and will never go again. Besides the outrageous prices of everything, the employees arnt friendly anymore, half the good rides were down for Remodeling during June???wtf is that about, its just not what it used to be. Dont waste your money. Universal is the New Disney.

I personally think a hotel can make or break a Disney trip because for example your a 70 year old couple that has not been to Disney in years and really want kind of a nice Disney vacation but without a bunch of crazy screaming kids running around the art of animation so you may be better off staying at the Grand Floridian or Coronado springs or like you said Swan and dolphin.Or say your a 5 year old kid going to Disney that cannot wait to go see Mickey Mouse all over everywhere and you get to your hotel and your staying at old key west your probably going to be pretty disappointed in the atmosphere and aesthetic.Just my open personally my top 10 Disney hotels are 1.Polynesian 2.Grand Floridian 3.Contemporary 4.Coronado springs 5.Boardwalk 6.Yacht and Beach club 7.Riviera 8.Caribbean beach 9.Animal Kingdom lodge 10.Swan and Dolpin
