My favorite episode ever 👏 as someone who has been deeply obsessed with the show since it first aired, this episode was so impactful simply just because of mulder and scully slow dancing to walking in Memphis lol. The mythology episodes are awsome but alot of these 1 offs are legendary. This and Bermuda triangle and althea 2 best of the series imo

I never made the connection that the Great Mutato was a rapist... and that's where the little Mutato-lings came from at the very end.

I really love this episode because it has all the elements of a classic monster tale (and because of Mulder and Scully's dance at the end, OBVIOUSLY), but what you're saying is pretty fair. Even Gillian Anderson always complained about the lack of female writers on the show, the men's view on this subject is apparently very different and they take it like it's not a big deal(???!!!) Besides, they include this impregnated women thing in a couple of episodes that, ironically, we enjoy for being some of the funniest and for containing some of the cutest moments between Mulder and Scully, when the main plot is just disturbing...

The moral of the episode is not good but otherwise it's just so damn good

Omg the "brother-son" thing is just a situation that will happen again in the last seasons, I can't believe it, they have like a quality to re-generate disturbing plots... You'll remember this.

I admit I have turned on this episode a lot, because in addition to the obvious casual rape in a comedy episode, the actor who played Mutato (his second of three roles on the series) said Chris Carter told him while rehearsing to say his lines with "less autism"...

This episode has aged so poorly. And you’re so right, it feels like a repeating theme of these non-consensual pregnancies. Yikes.

The only episode of the entire series I skip right through.

Now this is the episode that I hate and is probably my least favorite of the entire series!!!
