Learn how to manually eject a disk from your Xbox One console with this hidden button. This quick Xbox One repair video is a basic tutorial guide for how to remove a disk stuck in your Xbox when there is a problem or if the console wont power on.

It’s a common feature of optical disc drives, probably every recent console has a pinhole for it

Actually the ps5 has a turning key on it. You can take off the faceplate and grab a flathead and turn the key to manually remove the disk incase of a complete power loss or broken disk ejection motor. Pretty cool but this hole on the Xbox has been on every Xbox since the first gen I know because Ive had one that wouldn't ever eject the disk unless you pushed eject than stuck a paperclip in to assist

@@gracenargo5673 and its well hidden too, I remember how the rubberband pulley would eventually not be strong enough to open the tray so i would hit the xbox as it tries to open and tray would open from the hit. Only later did i learn i could do the pin method!

Glad every console as one of these! In the PS4 you have to something like a flat screwdriver, and in the bottom of the PS4 there is a gear that eject the dvd

That ain't a button. You're sticking the paperclip into a whole in the side of the disk drive that pushes into the gears to eject it. It's a backup mechanism if it jams or the motor breaks. Old disk drives with trays had one near the front to move the tray out

I’m not sure if I’ve just gotten lucky with my choices over the years, or if it’s a regional thing (US) but most DVD/CD players I’ve used have also had this, it’s handy for when the power goes out

It isn't really a button. It just pushes the disc out of the console. In case of a broken drive or your console dies. Helps when you have a pricey game in there.

This was much more aggravating on the original Xbox 360 when the disc tray went into lockdown mode!! I actually put together the 360 that I still have today from broken Xbox’s To put together the pieces that still worked

Thank God the original 360 was easy to take apart disc drive and all and put back together basically take a part, FIX and put back together, and if you knew what you were doing you could get it done in under 15 minutes! I had to Yank the Disc tray out of my 360 disc drive because the ppl I had for it from tried to pry it open and it got Stuck w the Threads on the inside Reverse threaded… but once re-aligning it and putting it back together, Viola “we gotta Xbox360 Boys!!”

Its in the manual not a secret at all nearly every digital disc readers had this but blu rays was a little complicated so they couldn't really do that unless it was only designed for bluray and watching cd's at one point an bluray reader i had got the CD stuck becuse of over use we broke the thing thinking we couldn't use it again it turns out there was a button just under. But this feture wont work if CD is "stuck" from dirt and gung it works if the button or the ejector assembly is in poor condition and cant move the CD assembly. So if you put it in front of a windows or in a closed small room it will definitely get dirty and have all sorts of issues (by room i mean for the Xbox or any playstation sega ect) thats becuse normally it gets air with dust but it regulates that and throws it out that is unless it's closed all the dirt gets clunged and it cant breathe causing overheat, if you still dont care it will at one point get corrosion slowly and short circuit resulting it dying to be never usen. This sounds SO complicated but there is each week 10 diffrent PS3 on a website i buy from usally with rlod which is gunk and overheat not starting and CPU burn

Almost all disk drives include this, and really any made for consumer use in the past 25 years. It’s how to remove a disk without power. Then again most pcs don’t even come with disk drives anymore so I can this being less known

That sort of thing is an age check. This was a common thing for PC CD drives. It was a manual eject feature.

Technically not a 'button', it's a release mechanism for when the power is off. As you physically push it in, it turns the release wheel of the drive eject mechanism. Think of it like- a door isn't a button just because it opens when you push it- it's still a door, the mechanism is the hinges and you pushing it makes it open open. Buttons cause mechanisms to operate, but they don't do the actual work. You're still a legend though mate, glad I found this channel 🤘

I had an issue with my Xbox where it would just randomly turn on so my dad and I were preparing to bring it to a Microsoft store to see the issue but then I remembered there was a disc in there and I heard if you have a disc in the thing when you carry it around it could ruin the e disc and I was too lazy to hook it all back up so I just used this trick.

If something's got a disk drive, there's a 99% chance it'll have something like this. Every laptop, every console, every piece of machinery in general that I've seen had one of these holes. They might seem useless, but they do come in handy sometimes

Ngl I did a different method which involves me shoving another disk on top of the one inside that is stuck, then proceeding to put pressure downwards once disk is on top of the stuck one and pull back both disk slowly.Somehow it worked with both disk intact

That's actually really cool!!!!!! So you wouldn't be completely screwed out of your game disc if your console were to no longer be able to recieve power for some reason!
