My favorite is 2, you're right about it being one of a kind game and an irreplaceable experience for those of us who fell in love with it.

I started Xenoblade 3 a couple of weeks ago and I'm in chp 7 near the ending I believe so this video couldn't have came at a better time in my Xenoblade journey. Thank you for not only this video but all the other Xenoblade videos you've made. I feel that watching your content over the past few years in tandem with me playing all 3 mainline Xenoblade games has enriched my experience with the franchise.

Honestly i really liked the downtime for side quests in torna. It helped give it a more lighthearted and upbeat tone. It all helped even more at the end when that upbeat vibe comes crashing down as the capital is annihilated and many characters die (RIP my boy Hugo). That’s just me though.

i picked up xenoblade 1, played it for like an hour and got bored. then gave it another chance when i completed xenoblade 3 and still got bored even like more than halfway through the game i picked up xenoblade 2 and completed it and the dlc because i love the characters and the story and i picked up xenoblade 3 for the same reason as 2

The bigest problem about xenoblade chronicles future redeemed is it didnt answers 90% of unanswered questions, AND this dlc give us EVEN MORE unanswered questions instead of ANSWERS them

i personally think that 3’s main characters are the best in the series, they all get the spotlight and evolve throughout the story, more so than the other games.

Hey Nara, good work how you lay it all down an next to each other. The video was very great to reflect my own xenoblade journey and it's a very important and fond one. I still think its depent on what's your personal entry into the series and and also how much you shared with others like the hype and waiting for new content releases etc. You simply can't say neutrally or factually what is the best Xenoblade Chronicles game. Only for you personally and that's hard enough imo. I can't decide and pick between 2 and 3 anymore because 2 was my entry and I even bought my Nintendo Switch to play it. I love the game and everything in it. For 3 I was most excited for it's release and 3 had influences on my personal life like no other game before. Although it has more flaws than any other of the 3 games imo it is also a game I couldn't put down and made it very sad to leave behind when it was really completely over. I can't think of a series with more love done than Xenoblade Chronicles.

XC2 is such a special game, that by the time it hooked me (chapter 3), I didn't even mind the gacha system or the slow burn in gameplay up to that chapter. I got invested, I feel in love with the characters, with the world, with the combat, music, and even though most of the side quest were filler, the blade quest were engaging because of the characters' interactions. The story, wow, what else can be said about XC2's story? I think one of the reasons why Rex is our protagonist and playable character is because he is young and inexperienced. He is learning about the world along with us.

Can someone tell me what the final graph represents. I didnt get it. It is so confusing. xc2 gets 11 point. Xc3 10. And xc1 9 in graphs in total. But he said xc3 is the best xeno or whatever at the end and also said xc2 is his favourite. Am I just stupid? Tell me his ranking from his favourite #1 game and 2 and then to 3 please :D

Amazing video, one of the most unbiased and factual takes on the series I've even seen. The part about XC3 and FR at the end hit hard though, 3 was my least favourite for a while and FR gave it a new light. It's still not my favourite but I agree that it's easily the best in the series.

To me, XB2 has the best story and combat. These 2 points are what make a game to me. I would've loved 1 and 3, but both of them have combat that I don't enjoy as much because it isn't flashy annd it doesn't feel like you accomplish any cool finishers. Yes, 3's DLC brings in finishing moves, but they don't compare to 2. Not to mention that 3's story is super inconsistent, with most of the game being boring and only that one point being the highest high you could imagine. The world, too. In 3, the places you visit don't feel all that special, where in 1 and 2, most of the areas are breathtaking. Just look at Satorl Marsh, Varlak Mountain, Uraya and Tantal. So yes, while 2 has issues with the field skills, I still like its gameplay the most. I also don't think the gacha is annoying at all. If you keep pulling, you'll eventually get rare Blades and there are even ways to farm them, too. The only issue I have aside from the field skills are the tutorials, which even the most elitist of elitists will agree are garbage in 2. But if you can get past that and walk that extra step to educate yourself on the mechanics, it will be one of the best gaming experiences you can have. My conclusion: XB2 > XB1 > XB3. The DLCs would be like this: XB2 > XB3 > XB1. 2's DLC just adds so much more depth to the characters and reveals more of their motivations as to why they did what they did in the base game that I have to give it an edge over 3's DLC. While 3's is still really good, I expected some more characters to make an appearence. They're just leaving out the whole cast of 1 and 2, with 2 being the worst offender. Where are Pyra and Mythra? It left me with so many questions. It's like with the base game's story. There's nothing really happening most of the time until that one point where the story goes crazy. (This does not mean that I think XB3 is bad. I just think it's the least good.)

2 was life chaning to me, I shit you not the only serieses I was into before Xenoblade was Mario and Splatoon. Xenoblade 2 allowed me to mature my taste in games which I have to thank it for! It just got me into larger more expansive, open world games, and JRPGs too! Xenoblade 2's story, characters, world, music, and combat pulled me right in and never let me go! Then Torna was absolutely amazing, on 1st playthrough community stunk but on replays I don't mind! Then I tried 1 so I can get the other side of the story and...I hated it. The characters and story were fine but the combat was honestly so slow and horrible to me. An old lady could walk across the street before an art could recharge in 1. So I stopped after awhile, then 3 came out and it gave me all the same feelings as 2, and sometimes even beat it in that regard! Then I finally went back and beat 1 and Future Connected and I actually liked it after giving it a chance, but still till this day the combat makes me wanna die. Then Future Redeemed was everything I could've dreamed! The most polished Xenoblade experience to date! This series means so much to me and I have 2 to thank for that! I am one of the few that had 2 resonate with me so much and I'm proud of that! Thank you Xenoblade Chronicles!

I tecently finished all three with their DLC. What the video says abouth 3's story being cut to digestivle pieces was enlightening, and I now know why I prefer 2's story. However the work in 3 to mix and tie every aspect of the worlds deserves more recognition.

I have only played 1 for a little bit on my 3ds. Because it was on my 3ds I couldn't really enjoy it. I finished 2 first but I only bought it after seeing a lets player get to the second Major Titan. I devoured 3 and I have to say I love both the ones I played and I really do want to get 1 definitive edition

I have a more general Google Sheet in which I score games as I play them, and I essentially came to the same conclusions as you: (Video Spoilers Below) Xenoblade 3 is pretty easily the best game in the series, but that doesn’t mean it’s my favorite. That honor goes resolutely to 2. It’s the most flawed, but it also hits beyond hard where it really matters: the story, combat, and characters. Y’know. The kinda stuff that matters after the credits roll, the stuff that you end up coming back to, engaging with, and thinking about for months or even years to come.

I don't know what to say bc for a video as good as this I should only respond with a video too. In a few words my opinion is: about the world is true that Bionis and Mechanis are iconic ans are a unique experience to explore and live, but maps in 2 are more curated and aestetically plaesant than 1 sometimes, just think or Uraya or Mor ardain. The citeis are full of life and and shops, the cloud level, the detalis in cities and outside them and the most importat difference for me: the world building. Xc2 world building is unmachable. So for me is a tie. About Exploration: I can agree about side quests bc xc3 has a lot of qol and a better quest design in general (even if torna has the best quests), but for exploration I 100% disagree, 3 has big maps but empty and with uninteresteing interations. For the comabat: i too prefer 2 over 3 but they are kinda on the same level.

XB2 has the best combat hands down. 1 and 3 both have really bad flaws with aggro management though 1 kind of addresses that once Reyn can finally do damage. 2 aggro management is solved once you unlock Mythra and with tue DLC it's solved as soon as you get Corvin. Plus 2's is very fast-paced and flows really well once you get the hang of it. The world setting in 2 is also I think the best. While I really enjoyed parts of the Bionis, Uraya, Tantal, Leftheria, Morytha, and the World Tree are amazing places to explore.

Even though the first one was the one that gave me the best moments. Due to the age that i play it.and i have the more nostalgic moments with. Xenoblade 2 is for me the most visually appealing and more fun to play.number3 definitely should have the first place visually and maturely. Buti don't know couldn't connect th same way i did whit 2 and 1. It's like the ff9 of the saga. (Ff8 being the best)

Xenoblade and Tales of are my two favorite series, but unlike Tales of, I feel like Xenoblade doesn't have a "bad" main title game. I do not consider "XBC X" as a main title, but I also have not played this one so I cannot say if it is good or not.

Pretty interesting. I largely agree with most of the rankings here. The only one i think I do disagree with is the world one. That one i probably rank 1 as the worst, 2 as the best, and 3 in the middle. The Bionis and Mechonis are very striking and visually cool worlds, but that's about all i find i can give it. when it comes to the area design and worldbuilding throughout I think its the weakest of the trilogy. 3 while its the least visually striking of the three games, has a fair bit more worldbuilding to flesh it out, and its area design is a bit more involved and intricate despite their sizes. 2 I think has the strongest world as it not only still has a very unique and visually interesting world in Alrest, people living on the backs of huge creatures wading around a gigantic tree in a sea of clouds, but its worldbuilding is the strongest of the trilogy. There's very little in terms of the world that doesn't get some level of exploration or explanation. not only for itself but it also does the heavy lifting in terms of lore for the entire trilogy.

I really like shounen anime and yes i like 2 (played 500 hours or so) but its my least favorite. I dont like all anime cliches in there and since 1 hour the english voice acting is bothering me. The spoken sentences dont align with how the mouthes are moving and it throws me out of it. Actually the most i have played is x and it takes in three of your categories the cake for me (Combat, World and Exploration) For nostalgia i have to say one (i play it since 2011) but objectively speaking its 3 and especially FR.

Being honest, 1’s only flaw and it’s a critical one, is the characters, can’t compare to 2’s and 3’s characters, that’s why 1 is my least favourite. 3 is immaculate until the end of chapter 6 and 7 where the story kinda falls off. 2’s tutorials and gameplay are the worst. 1 = the original just play it 2 = best story and characters 3 = best gameplay and music All dlc is probably as good as the main game (especially Torna) but future connected kinda lacking and is the worst xenoblade story, My ranking (story is important to me) 6.) ah hell nah xb2 story above xb1?😭 man i cant agree with that, honestly for me xb2's stort isnt even complete with torna expansion (which is without a doubt the best part of xc2 for me). i ofc agree that xb2 has better character development, but for me at least the pacing is just soo awful. + seeing as how character driven the story is, its really difficult for me to get invested with its sub-par voice performance at times, and interesting character designs. hell, even excluding pyra and mythra, wth were they thinking with tora and poppi💀 morag is fucking sick tho ngl. also amalthus is highkey the most interesting character in xb2 which is why i priorly said torna expansion is a must for me nothing will beat the mystery-driven story that is xb1. the extreme whiplashes the story gives is just incredible. while i agree the juju arc sucks, i think the inital hook of the story is big enough to push most players to complete it. this can not be said for xc2, where even quite emotional moments are cut short early on in the story (looking at you gramps "death" scene) i think its one thing to look at characters and another to look at the story, these should be entirely different catagories. also i think having a music category would be interesting also shout out to torna's combat which i would say is the best in the series. i dont agree with xc2 base game being better than 3, at least not until the end, but torna's is just so good that i think xc2 deserves the spot either way

when it come's to ratings Xenoblade 1 is for me dead last on almost everything hell i prefer X over it way more (with the expection of characters and story i do prefer 1 cast over X same with story) Xenoblade 1 really did not click with me and even when i did finish it 2 years after i started (thanks to me finishing X and 3) i still thought it was meh while my fav was 3 good fuckin god did it click with me i almost did every side quest before i finished the game (which i finished the game at 100 hours on the dot) and later on before Future Redeemed came out i went back i finished every single side quest and i loved it 3 has my fav gameplay characters and story while 2 was a game most of my friends said sucked so i was worried when i started it and well i haven't got a clue what they were on about sure it's flawed as all fuck but goddamn does it have soul easily having my fav world and OST (which yeah i put XC1 world at last again cos while the idea of the Bionis and Mechonis is really cool by god are they not fun to running around it way too damn big for it's own good) so yeah rating wise here i do agree with ya Nara tho for me it was due to really loving the series but disliking 1 if i never went and tried X out i would have missed out on 2 and 3

XC1 is for me personally the best J-Rpg of all-times….so impactful world, story, characters and music/gameplay! Didnt play yet XC3 but i am playing XC2 and i have to admit that its disappointing…the story is too childish for me, the characters too anime-like and the gameplay is in comparison to XC1/X really slow, overloaded and grindy! I hope XC3 is better!

3 should've been way better. 1 and 2 had their excuses back in the day but the forced padding of the story, the underwhelming world and the disappointing line up of antagonists in 3 is just inexcusable.

Fantastic video! While I agreed with a lot you said in this video, I have to disagree with the story segment. Again this is all completely personal preference but I just found 1 and 3’s story more engaging. 1 for its larger then life narrative with incredible twists and 3 for its emotional impact, themes and more human story. I think 2 is most certainly a coming of age story, and while I can commend it’s characters and world building all day I feel way more attached to the story’s of the other two games. Especially 3, as it’s quickly become my favorite game in the series and of all time. Xenoblade 2 was the first one I played, and I think it’s still a great game. But idk for me there was just something missing from it with its narrative.

Not saying Rex is bad, but he has the least subtlety in his development and it really annoys me. Adam tells him what he’s doing wrong he fixes it, then shouts about it during a fight

Hot take: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 character designs are the best in the series. Stellar Blade, NieR Automata, Bayonetta, and final Fantasy VII all appealing more to female gamers than Ellie from tlou 2, Aloy from Horizon, etc, all prove that both male and female gamers prefer strong female characters when they're beautiful / sexy.
