Inspired by true events, college sophomore Clemence Miller is coming home to the suburbs and a bedroom in her family's basement. After dropping out of school with a newly diagnosed mental illness, she now faces the challenges of bipolar disorder, the responsibilities of adulthood, and her damaged relationships with family and friends. Clemence struggles to figure out what it means to heal without driving everyone around her… well, crazy. As if reckoning with everything and everyone she has taken for granted wasn’t enough, Clemence has to wrestle with the thought that on top of it all, she might also just have a really bad personality.
Release Date: March 3, 2023

As someone who's struggled with bipolar for most of his life, films like this are very important for the world to see what life is like for us both with humor and pain. I look forward to seeing this. It looks like it may be one of the ones that gets the depiction right.

As someone to lives with a diagnosis mental disorder the phase "you have to work in this, it's never going to go away" hit me like a ton of bricks. It's 100% it's a daily work you have to get through every day and I love that are more movies willing to show that you can live with a mental desorder and be happy.

I'm glad mental health is finally getting acknowledged openly in our culture. It can be very disorienting and frustrating for the people who love those who suffer from it, and obviously they themselves too. It can be downright heart breaking.

The stigma of having mental health issues is becoming less and more friends and family are learning to try to understand loved ones who have mental health issues. I'm not bipolar, but I do have major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety, social anxiety and Complex PTSD. I used to not tell people about it... because it made THEM feel uncomfortable. Then I realized, why should I keep silent when I'm suffering when I know others are as well. So, instead of hiding, I've become very open about it and an advocate. We all need to have empathy for those struggling, and trying to understand what and how people with mental health issues feel and go through on a daily basis is how that empathy is gained.

@@IhaytFukkingsocialmedia people kill others every day, and most of them aren't bipolar. You're the one that's going to need to come to terms with that, without generalizing. Four Non Blondes intro is what sold me on this (and Steve Buschemi, of course!) Mental illness (all diagnoses) is, (are) unfortunately, plagued with a stigma that society has, for hundreds of years, associated as a condition (s) that is (are) separate from the physical/biological health issues - and only until recent years have researchers began to connect the two and educate the public with their studies that not only are each of us individual in our person-in-environment treatment programs, but that all medication is not a one-size-fits-all solution; the two aspects of our existence/homeostasis/balanced lifestyle are multifaceted and sometimes require alternative options that don't go with "normal" or "expected" standards. I love movies like this that help to shed light on issues like Borderline Personality, Bipolar 1 or 2, anxiety disorders, and autism. Education is the first step in prevention, autonomy, respecting individuality, and breaking stereotypes.

Hi! so, people frequently will say, "it will never go away" however: Much of this can be balanced, and as you Mature, you will find, that sometimes, like Allergies, you "outgrow" it, literally through Tissue growth, and maturation, and body processes. However, please be wary of drugs, street drugs, alcohol, and things like that. I will sincerly tell you, that those substances, may initially "feel like it helps" but do not, the body is usually already out of whack. Do get exercise because it naturally stimulates growth and hormonal balance. Take heart that caring people are always innovating new methods, and I am one of them. Many people like you, who seem to have a "disorder" are actually highly intelligent and it is not the mind, it is some of the mind's tissues or endocrine functions that need healing. Mental health is physiology, compounded by thoughts and feelings. Best wishes to you. Be a Light in the World like you are intended to! You will do great things

@@Sol89weee hi! Its been two times I Have got into the tmm phase and the time in rn I dont get urges to pull hairs which I constantly had in that phase. What helped me was understanding and realisation. You must know your mind well (meditation didnt helped me may be i didnt do it well. )like whats thats tied up with your tmm ig yk like tmm often comes with other metal disprder like anxiety, depression, excessive stress etc. So first be clear with why you had it at the first place what triggered it. You know Second, its a ocd so whats the misconception you have and then work on it to clear it...itll take time but realisation is the key. Third, keep yourself busy. Do thingd you love foucus on action. Always try Be positive and keep going. Fourth, never loose hope thats the necessity and yk medication wont help a lot or in long so try to not depend on them tho consult doc in need and try to maintain a healthy and happy lifestyle by spending time with friends family and yourself like do take care of yourself do work out and have a good sleep everyday :) Fifth, music i cant tell you how much it helped me and keep in mind to not to listen sad songs a lot it d affects your emotions... Hope this helps, Do ask if have any further questions ill be happy to help if i could :)

Yeah, there's probably some genetic causation. And, too, hard to be "normal" when you've never experienced it; dysfunctional people have children, and do the best they can, and their kids grow up screwed without knowing why or how. I'm 65 and I've only recently realized my great grandmother was legitimately mentally ill. It answers a lot of questions going back as far as I can remember. I want to state that my mother did a very good job overcoming her grandmother's influence. But she also refused to talk about her, and it wasn't till I was an adult that I realized I knew nothing about her father's mother. Nothing. And a lot longer to realize that was an important gap in my development. Granted, I'm not personally bipolar, but there is a genetic neurological challenge in my family tree.

I wish they would stop making films like these and instead show what is actually required of someone to rise above depression. It would also help to show that our mental health providers, try as they may, are making things WORSE not better for those who suffer. we need films that show real people who actually got out of depression with the right kind of psychotherapy.
